Taylor Swift fans are Swifties. And YES, she has awesome music, and she writes and composes her music. She is an amazing writer. I was a Swifty before I ever knew about BTS. Her fanbase is huge. She is a stadium concert tour artist. And she treats her fans well. She's a genuine person and a great performer. She also has evolved and changed over the years, and has tried many different genre's of music. There are some similarities there with BTS. HYBE/Big Hit is the largest entertainment company in the South Korean Market, but the Big 3 have had control over the media and the TV shows for years. Money doesn't equal power in this case. They still try to block their success, and undermine their achievements.

Bighit /hybe is actually a lot bigger than all big3 labels combined in terms of money and revenue ,but big3 is called as such because they are kinda like very first labels who used to prouduce the first and the most famous groups in sk before bts came in and they basically run every K-pop shows and variety which helps their artist gets more screen time ,show slots etc . Hybe have money but they don’t have enough connection in sk.
i personally really enjoy olivia rodrigo's music. its very relatable, has good lyrics and she's also a very good singer. but its very obvious that she has HUGE industry support. right from the beginning they were backing her up. but again i hate that armys are shitting on her for this. she makes good music and is very talented. even though its unfair for bts, its not her personal fault but the industry as a whole. she's just trying to survive in it. I actually liked her first song "Drivers License", then I completely hated all of the polemics she was involved and creating. The hate Sabrina Carpenter received when she was doing well with her music was so bad, many many people started to criticized her and compare her without knowing any context of it. I still remember her letter, it was sad and that affected her success, she's still fighting for win a single spot in the VMAs and she's been in this industry for YEARS On the other hand, Olivia started to win everything (with one album), and don't get me wrong, her voice it's good (I don't like her singing voice in the latest live performances, but it's not that bad either), but her lyrics are so influenced by Taylor Swift music, it's literally the same formula of Ex's hate and "self love", also the artificial feminist messages. Like you said, her success is bought by the industry and I think it's unfair when you have amazings singers who don't even get nominated to the same awards.

The Big 3 (SM, YG, JYP) on the other hand have produced a majority of the biggest Korean artists for decades- BTS were the first group EVER to win Artist of the year not from a Big 3 company at the major Korean award shows- and have huge sway on who succeeds and who fails, especially within Korea. BTS only got where they were through fan-support, hard-work and the explosion of social media. Big 3 influence could stop BTS from getting slots on music programs, varied shows, being played on the radio or even being covered favourably on the news, but they couldn’t control UA-cam and Twitter and they couldn’t control the international market. Hybe is now bigger than the Big 3 (if google isn’t lying to me, they’re worth more than all three combined), so some people like to call it the Big 4 instead but it isn’t really accurate. Hybe for all their wealth still has limited power and influence within Korea as the Big 3 are still in control. Up until recently most Hybe artists couldn’t get any airtime on a major network because they were so pissed BTS went to perform in New York for New Years Eve rather than attending their broadcast- that was in 2019, they banned their acts for nearly FOUR YEARS because if BTS weren’t playing their game, they were going to sabotage everyone even remotely associated with them. And yeah you’re right, SM is nothing but bad news. They have some good artists, even if I don’t actively follow them. But supporting a company that so blatantly mistreats their artists is just not worth it.

They have 2 sides to themselves, the *red* side & the *velvet* side. "Red" is their vivid and bold image while "Velvet" stands for their softer and more mature side. These two sides reflect the songs they release. Some groups under jyp are: Stray kids: - i love them Twice - my kids love them, girl group Itzy - girl group. I like quite a few songs just for fun Day 6 - kband Xdinary heroes- rock band. They slay imo. Their latest album is very pop punk, i think of bowling for soup & simple plan with this album. Yg entertainment; Big bang - i like big bang, minus seungri Blackpink- meh, theres a couple songs i like just for fun Akmu - brother sister duo with a unique & funky style. I think another kpop fandom (other than ARMY) with a broader age reach is Seventeen's. I don't follow them, their music is not always it for me, but I have a lot of carats among my contacts and I see the topics the band touches are closer to BTS than other artists. I think it might be the reason there is more diversity in those fandoms, there are more reasons to relate / engage

I have learned so much from BM series. Even at my older age I just trusted that things were done in a honest way. What is the point of these big award shows and platforms if they cheat? Where is the honor in when artists receive awards in a dishonest way.
I mostly dislike olivia on principal for the weird and disrespectful promotions they did a while back. It’s also really obvious how much industry support she gets. Pissed me off so I will never listen to anything willingly. Her music does seem to go more towards the teenage first love and breakup stuff. If you’re curious, I’d say go for it but I personally wouldn’t care if you didn’t either.
Armies found out recently that before bts became big that big hit was millions of dollars in debt. We knew they were close to bankruptcy but we didn’t know how much they were struggling. Bts changed everything and they deserve they’re flowers. I love the boys so much and I’m glad that they have succeeded :)

Yeah I love Olivia's songs so much and she's really talented tho but ngl, the way her first album was promoted everywhere and had the industry support was crazy. People was receiving emails about her album from Spotify without following her lol and k-armys said they saw adds for her album everywhere and in korea and had a hard time to find a BTS one. I remember in 2021 armys were so mad bc she was the competition with BTS when Butter came out and the thing was that her company was literally telling people that if they buy her SOUR album they get a free carwash so her fans and a lot of non-fans, family or friends were encouraged to do it so yeah... back then it was not a competition about the music or a least the first weeks. Still, BTS spent several weeks at #1 with Butter and then replaced themselves with permission to dance and again butter with, thanks to the huge army support, streaming and buying. That was a huge moment for them, the industry kept changing the rules like always but BTS' success was inevitable and they ended up wining Artist of the Year at the AMAs! they made history. 💜 Anyways, the carwash thing and the heavy industry support was something that a lot of armys didn't really like because the treatment was so unfair while BTS just getting constantly sabotaged and that's why we said it wasn't an organic or real music competition there like te Dynamite vs WAP because real people were really listening to those songs without a the obvios industry support and also there were evidence of fans and the general public were listening to them outside radio. The songs of Olivia's SOUR album are great in my opinion, even if I did0t like the tactics that her company applied. I can't deny she's very talented, indeed, I became kind of her fan before the release of that album lmao Oh and her new album GUTS has a good songs too! The first time I knew about olivia was the scandal with Sabrina. The whole industry was driving the same story like selena-justin-hailey scandal 2.0 and although I don’t have anything against olivia, I felt a little disappointed cuz she stay silent while her fans and her team just taking turns stepping on to the other girl when none blamed the guy. personally don't care for olivia rodrigo but that's cause she unfortunately made my least fave song of the 2020s. but she is very popular and ppl tend to really like her music so listen if you want! taylor swift has some really good albums and then also some albums that to me are not good, coming from someone who's sibling is a swiftie and has also been listening to her since 2007. i just really dislike how she doesn't use her influence for anything good and really doesn't stand for anything that doesn't benefit herself. bighit/hybe is considered part of the "big 4" but they don't have the same kind of influence that the other 3 do because the other 3 companies fund or have connections with mainstream media channels in sk. but i would say bighit/hybe have been changing that more recently. as can be seen with bang pd leveraging bts and other hybe groups appearance on MBC (broadcasting corp). MBC had to officially apologize (after being petty) and sign an agreement to better broadcasting treatment for all groups in sk. (its a long story that you'll def get into at some point in the rabbit hole)

I’m a swiftie (Taylor swift fan lmao) and a bts fan. Taylor definitely has had it 100x easier than bts…she’s a white western artists and so has always been afforded more opportunity than bts. But she is also incredibly talented & has put a lot of hard work in. I think you would like a lot of her music as you care about lyrics, and her ability to write lyrics is superb and poetic. But again, she has been given A LOT that bts never will never be given and it’s definitely helped her career.
No big hit was not part of the big three music labels and they still aren’t because artists from the “big three” have always had privileges, even before debut a group can become huge if they are from those 3 companies even if they make trash music lmao. BigHit/HYBE is the biggest out of the agencies managing idols right now, but historically (and few years ago) the big companies were YG, SM and JYP. All these three companies are bad news, tbh. I do enjoy a few of their groups (except for YG, everything's trash over there) but they're all very problematic in many ways you can think of. Just few days ago an ex YG CEO got arrested. Those companies have several issues, from racism/cultural appropriation to judicial problems. It's a mess.

Big 3 influence could stop BTS from getting slots on music programs, varied shows, being played on the radio or even being covered favourably on the news, but they couldn’t control UA-cam and Twitter and they couldn’t control the international market. Hybe is now bigger than the Big 3 (if google isn’t lying to me, they’re worth more than all three combined), so some people like to call it the Big 4 instead but it isn’t really accurate. Hybe for all their wealth still has limited power and influence within Korea as the Big 3 are still in control. Up until recently most Hybe artists couldn’t get any airtime on a major network because they were so pissed BTS went to perform in New York for New Years Eve rather than attending their broadcast- that was in 2019, they banned their acts for nearly FOUR YEARS because if BTS weren’t playing their game, they were going to sabotage everyone even remotely associated with them.
And yeah you’re right, SM is nothing but bad news. They have some good artists, even if I don’t actively follow them. But supporting a company that so blatantly mistreats their artists is just not worth it.

The issue I have with that is, it often sounds like 2 completely different songs that were sort of smashed together. Usually, not just with bts but a couple other groups as well, the singing parts & rap parts & beats flow naturally together. Even if theres multiple beat switch ups etc. nct songs, esp 127 (imo) dont always sound like they should be in the same song. I do like some of their sings but not a fan overall. Oh, SuperM is another group. They did that "jumping & popping is jopping" song, dubbed *the avengers of kpop* 😂
I do really like wayv tho. Its nct's Chinese members, so they have a more unique sound tha the other subunits. They sing/rap mostly in Chinese.
The other SM group i like is red velvet, a girl group. Have you checked them out? They have 2 sides to themselves, the *red* side & the *velvet* side. "Red" is their vivid and bold image while "Velvet" stands for their softer and more mature side. These two sides reflect the songs they release.

I don't follow them, their music is not always it for me, but I have a lot of carats among my contacts and I see the topics the band touches are closer to BTS than other artists. I think it might be the reason there is more diversity in those fandoms, there are more reasons to relate / engage

I have learned so much from BM series. Even at my older age I just trusted that things were done in a honest way. What is the point of these big award shows and platforms if they cheat? Where is the honor in when artists receive awards in a dishonest way.
I mostly dislike olivia on principal for the weird and disrespectful promotions they did a while back. It’s also really obvious how much industry support she gets. Pissed me off so I will never listen to anything willingly. Her music does seem to go more towards the teenage first love and breakup stuff.

Armies found out recently that before bts became big that big hit was millions of dollars in debt. We knew they were close to bankruptcy but we didn’t know how much they were struggling. Bts changed everything and they deserve they’re flowers. I love the boys so much and I’m glad that they have succeeded :)

Yeah I love Olivia's songs so much and she's really talented tho but ngl, the way her first album was promoted everywhere and had the industry support was crazy. People was receiving emails about her album from Spotify without following her lol and k-armys said they saw adds for her album everywhere and in korea and had a hard time to find a BTS one.
I remember in 2021 armys were so mad bc she was the competition with BTS when Butter came out and the thing was that her company was literally telling people that if they buy her SOUR album they get a free carwash so her fans and a lot of non-fans, family or friends were encouraged to do it so yeah... back then it was not a competition about the music or a least the first weeks. Still, BTS spent several weeks at #1 with Butter and then replaced themselves with permission to dance and again butter with, thanks to the huge army support, streaming and buying. That was a huge moment for them, the industry kept changing the rules like always but BTS' success was inevitable and they ended up wining Artist of the Year at the AMAs! they made history. 💜
Anyways, the carwash thing and the heavy industry support was something that a lot of armys didn't really like because the treatment was so unfair while BTS just getting constantly sabotaged and that's why we said it wasn't an organic or real music competition there like te Dynamite vs WAP because real people were really listening to those songs without a the obvios industry support and also there were evidence of fans and the general public were listening to them outside radio.
The songs of Olivia's SOUR album are great in my opinion, even if I did0t like the tactics that her company applied. I can't deny she's very talented, indeed, I became kind of her fan before the release of that album lmao

The first time I knew about olivia was the scandal with Sabrina. The whole industry was driving the same story like selena-justin-hailey scandal 2.0 and although I don’t have anything against olivia, I felt a little disappointed cuz she stay silent while her fans and her team just taking turns stepping on to the other girl when none blamed the guy. I’m a swiftie (Taylor swift fan lmao) and a bts fan.
Taylor definitely has had it 100x easier than bts…she’s a white western artists and so has always been afforded more opportunity than bts.
But she is also incredibly talented & has put a lot of hard work in. I think you would like a lot of her music as you care about lyrics, and her ability to write lyrics is superb and poetic.

No big hit was not part of the big three music labels and they still aren’t because artists from the “big three” have always had privileges, even before debut a group can become huge if they are from those 3 companies even if they make trash music lmao. But I would consider big hit to be number 1 now. I don’t believe there are the “big three” anymore it’s just big hit/hybe at the top because they have the biggest artist in the world under their label. Also there are only 3 music artists under big hit (bts, txt, and lee hyun) but hybe is different they are a corporation so they own big hit and many other artists under other companies including American artists like Justin Bieber. That is why we shouldn’t call it the “big three” anymore, because they’re is only one superior even if they don’t like it which is big hit/hybe. It’s extremely complicated but boracity explains it more in her videos. I recommend “is the hybe family a thing?” And “bts are rockstars”.

BigHit/HYBE is the biggest out of the agencies managing idols right now, but historically (and few years ago) the big companies were YG, SM and JYP. All these three companies are bad news, tbh. I do enjoy a few of their groups (except for YG, everything's trash over there) but they're all very problematic in many ways you can think of. Just few days ago an ex YG CEO got arrested. Those companies have several issues, from racism/cultural appropriation to judicial problems. It's a mess.
