I’m all about low effort dishes that taste amazing.. and this is one of them!
Recipe on jasmineandtea.com [ search ‘rice cooker chicken’ ]
Ingredients
2 boneless chicken thighs
3g ginger, julienned
12g garlic, minced
3 Tbsp oyster sauce
3 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
1 tsp dark soy sauce
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 cup dry short- or medium-grain rice
1 cup salted chicken broth
Steamed broccolini
Scallions, for garnish
Scallion + Ginger Sauce
1 tbsp finely minced scallion (whites and greens)
1 tsp finely minced ginger
1 tbsp neutral oil
Pinch of salt
-In a medium bowl, combine the chicken with the ginger, garlic, low-sodium soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and black pepper. Mix well and set aside.
-Add the rice to a rice cooker insert and rinse several times under cool water until the water runs fairly clear, then drain well. Pour in the chicken broth, then place the chicken thighs on top. Make sure to scrape any remaining sauce into the rice cooker. Press start on the rice cooker.
-Meanwhile, make the scallion + ginger sauce: Add the scallion and ginger to a small bowl and pour the oil over. You can heat the oil to toast the aromatics, but I prefer to simply add the oil straight from the bottle for a more pure taste.
-Remove the chicken from the rice cooker and slice before plating with the rice, steamed broccoli, and sauce. Garnish with scallions.
-Enjoy! - Навчання та стиль
THIS LOOKS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS
SHE is absolutely delicious
@@peaky237ok chill man

Never thought about this, didn’t think it would cook through correctly
I'm sure it would. Though I wouldn't do this on just any rice cooker. The one she is using is 400 dollars. I wouldn't try this on a 20 dollar rice cooker.
@@sotballs28 why not??
@@samanthasmith61 a 20 dollar rice cooker relies on water to tell when the rice is done cooking, when the water evaporates that usually means its done, and if the water evaporates before the chicken finishes cooking then… but you can probably substitute water with broth or something with a higher burning point like broth or wine :)
@@sotballs28 tbh there are cheaper electronic rice cookers that do around the same things like her rice cooker
@@samanthasmith61 but this only applies to the ones that aren’t like modern electronic (screens, switching modes that type of stuff), it applies to the old ones (only cook and warm) :)
my grandma reheats steamed chicken over the rice in the rice cooker, tastes so good with scallion and garlic
I like how you have your own recipe instead of many UA-camrs who made "hainanese chicken rice" with all the wrong recipes.
I’m loving these rice cooker dishes so much 😭😭I need these in my current situation to save time thank you

Looks delicious and tasty..!! Nice cooking method. Thank you for the update,Tasty..!!
that looks good might start cooking because of this
For those playing along at home thats a pressure rice cooker. Zojirushi NW-JEC10, runs about 700 dollars new
I just have a regualer tefal rice cooker. How long do i cook it and how much water?
It does look absolutely delicious !
I didn’t even know she was in tasty as well I only watched her from her personal channel 😂🎉
What is her personal channel?

This looks delicious. I'm more a fan of duck, but it's more expensive and chicken thigh is the best cut of chicken so it works well
So glad you aee here❤
Unless you’re a fan of mushy chewy skin I’d definitely go with skinless chicken thigh instead. Looks great though!!
it looks so delicious
I do this but with additional garlic oil to the rice and it's amazing
Like actually (garlic oil)?
@@Yoskio yes, it makes the rice and chicken more fragrant
@@KS-uv3rh thank you ❤️ i’ll try it tomorrow, i hope it’s good
@@Yoskio hope you like it!
I've never heard of garlic oil b4.
Looks delicious
What an amazing meal
I dont have extra features on my rice cooker, will this work still if I just press the "White Rice" option?
The rice maker sounded like sweet dreams are made of these lol
wait how are you balancing the water amount to the sauce?
Yesss
You can cook i love it so much ❤❤❤❤
Yum
❤❤❤ perfect
Yummy
Does Jasmine work in Buzzfeed?
I'd recommend broiling the chicken first to have the flavors stick
Jasmineandtea!!
cool
Can i cook that oil as well in a rice cooker?
Can someone explain the oil part at the end? Whats it for?
".and when it's ready" ... i can't understand ANYTHING you said after that. I'm trying to find a simple rice cooker chicken recipe
How did you heat the oil up in a rice cooker
from the pan i guess 😂
She used a pan?
"Rice cooker + pan chicken dish"
Was she pouring hot oil on ginger and garlic at the end?
yes I believe so, even with things like making a chili oil at home hot oil is put on the chilis
Can the chicken done cook if cook together with rice in rice cooker? Rice done cook faster
what was the green side dish?
Your face glows. Looks nice
Rice cooker or on stove using the frying pan easy ✅
Questions; is dark soy sauce less salt tasting than regular soy sauce
When did you add the broccoli? I don’t remember seeing that part.
Maybe it was leftovers, or she just steamed the seperately off camera and added it to her dish. The broccoli was just a side, and not the main focus of the video
She probably just steamed it off-screen, why are you so bothered by it lol
Haha
Can you do it in a normal pot instead of rice cooker? 🥺
Can I use chicken thigh be skinless
wow i love her vids but i forgot her name lol. she’s working buzzfeed now? or did u guys just take the video?
Yeah im really confused cuz ive nevrr seen her associated with Tasty before
@@zechariahdavid5199 I’m confused too. Did they steal her videos?
@@LSD77777 idk it could be possible but I doubt it, I'm sure she'd have heard abt it by now bc of how big Tasty is and she definitely owns the video, considering she's posted it on her own channel. She might have just sold it to them or given permission or something
Tasty is reposting videos now for more content, but don’t fret- they credit everyone in the description section. The 3 dots upper right hand corner

😮
Can you do it with a instant pot?
Yes, you can use the rice setting.
O nooo THE CHICKEN BLOOD NA ILL PASS
Make sure your chicken is 165 F with a meat thermometer.
Not really, you can also cook it at 145 for 9 mins and its still safe. Sorry just saw this at MinuteFoods hahah
Ye if ya like dry ass cardboard chicken
ask your grandma to do that for you
@@sodomized7061165 is barely cooked. Stick to video games in your menial dads basement
Temperature and time?
The broccoli: 👁️👄👁️
As a wise Asian mom once said: “the bones are the best part”
Recipe?
That rice cooker is $800.00
I wanna know the name of that rice cooker! I wanna be sure it comes out like yours!😋
It's a $700 rice cooker, Zojirushi NW-JEC10
Soisosssss
Hainanese chicken? Or different ?
so where id the broccolini come from ....
Wash the rice in another bowl! The rice scrapes against the protective coating
This is the way Asians always do and tbh rice grains in the water aren't hard enough to scrape the coating, and if they can then the coating is flaky af
These shorts making me delusional thinking I can cook. FORGETTING THAT I HAVE TO LITERALLY BUY EVERYTHING MENTIONED LOL
Lord have mercy
Lol ❤.
MR ROGER
Bro give her credit atleast
to people who have done this, does it actually cook nicely? from a college student who knows very little about cooking. Genuinely asking
recipe measurements?
Can we use beef broth?
It will overpower the taste of the chicken.
How long do you cook it for?
it says 53 min
@@monokendo Ok, thank you
"Haiyaaaa..." 😣
Fuyoooo
You can do way more than cook rice in a rice cooker…you can make a whole meal out of that (rice, vegetables, egg, meat, soup, cake etc.) obviously you have to do the dishes one at a time or can just make fried rice lol.
Say entirely in rice cooker but broccoli appears from nowhere and ginger oil was done in pot..... so not entirely was it
Some rice cookers have the steamer attachment for the top of the cooking dish. It may has been cooked there
@@Maiykll the ginger oil?
🙄🙄 those things are optional though. you’re obnoxious.
@@pho36 you can hear oil in a rice cooker they have heating functions
She could literally just use leftovers or steam the broccoli separately, it’s not that deep idk why you’re bothered by it
Looks nice, but i feel like itd be monstrously salty
Too bad I only have a small rice cooker
This
The chicken would be undercook
whatever-
need to add sugar and a drop of sesame oil
@Uncle Roger
I don’t think the skin can look like that from being boiled in rice cooker. I would guess she fried it for sure.
That’s a lot of oyster sauce
Rip BuzzFeed good luck in ur next endeavors
You don't fry the chicken first? I pass
THIS VIDEO IS MADE BY JASMINEANDTEA. ITS STOLEN.
If this still needs chicken broth, then the chicken is useless.
No hate… but I saw a pan with oil in it… so it was NOT entirely made in a rice cooker 😂
Stop stealing videos from jasmineandtea
Seasoning is important
Did you heat that oil in the rice cooker no you lied lmao
She on the menu as well?
oh dang idk @jasmineandtea worked with tasty
