I can't imagine why a billionaire would need to be on Social Security. It wouldn't hurt them a bit to contribute more to help people on a fixed or low income. Congress just doesn't want to have to pay more out of their pockets to help Social Security recipients.

All those on social security and SSDI need an increase we paid into the system.. ssi beneficiaries have not paid in that is a big difference.. however one thing people are not realizing is these benefits vary even on SSDI survivor benefits.. some of us as survivors do get over the federal level.. I’m one who does however for some the 200 boost could also put us so close to having to file taxes where survivors don’t pay.. that’s a problem and see that’s what they want.. but why should I be cut to bring others up to the federal level.. how is that fair ?.. we have nothing to do with those that get less.. also many don’t get government assistance because we get more.. so ask yourself .. if you knock me down, are you going to give me welfare?.. my rent isn’t going to go down.. how will they supplement us?..Leave the SS fund alone ssi comes from a separate fund.. .. we shouldn’t eat that benefit…

Social Security needs to be assessed on a quarterly basis not yearly. Social Security yearly COLA is not enough. Hell Social Security is not enough before it is even issued. Data shows we are Behind around 40 some percent for the last 20 years. Make good on the past 20 years of deficient COLAs.
The moderator did a good job of debunking the Republican talking points of Socal Security adding to the deficit and national debit and saying it is an unfunded liability.The Republicans pet projects are the unfunded liabilities.However,I am skeptical about our government moving to help/ shore up social security anytime soon.The citizens united decision allowed our system to be flooded with billionaire and foreign government interest money makes me believe they have little incentive to solve social securitie's problems.Our government has no problem bypassing congress to give over a hundred billion dollars to fund wars and making the american taxpayer subsidized the conflict in the middle east !

Congress should live on the same amount Social Security did 50 years ago. Since that's when they made the last changes. 1983 Biden pushed a law thru to tax Social Security you can draw.

Lack of sufficient SSI amounts causes financial hardship to its recipients. Social insecurity amounts causes food insecurity rent insecurity life insecurity when you are only paid 30% per month of what you need and the unconstitutional $2000 asset limit that needs to be repealed keeps you poor and destitute. Social security is supposed to be a program to get you out of poverty. Getting you out of poverty requires SSI amounts be raised triple or quadruple what they are now. There is no retirement plan when you are physically disabled from birth having money insecurity and having to support yourself alone with no family. Asinine idiot stupid people think "retirement plan". Doesnt apply to lifelong disabled from birth when trying to survive alone. Congress should have to face what I do and learn how much suffering is caused by insufficient SSI poverty amounts.

I did work. I broke my back saving a lady from falling out of bed working in a nursing home. If I had to do it over again I would of saved that Lady from getting hurt. I saved her from getting hurt and That's what I thought I was suppose to do.
