  • I adopted the Hearts of Gold Hospice many years ago, and donating to them every month has been one of the greatest joys of my life. It’s a deeply personal journey for me so I have shared this only once in public when I turned 30.
But as the hospice itself turns 20 years, I am thanking Aunty Laja publicly again for making this world a more beautiful place.

Not all families. I have a disability and it has never been a secret. My family doesn't listen to any negativity about me

This woman has my UTMOST respect for wholeheartedly doing this special work in a country where animals are sometimes treated better than children living with disabilities.
    She has truly inspired me.

Heart of Gold really does have a golden heart. I hope everyone supports this hospice especially in this difficult times. Not a lot of people can do what they do ... the goal is to see how more affected and vulnerable children can benefit from good care. Well done Heart of Gold. Kudos to all of you 👏 ❤️ and Thank you.

I was curious to hear more about hospice in Nigeria when Chude mentioned hospice, only to find out it was a wrong choice of word. This facility is NOT hospice.

    • @aminatyusuff6921

I think it does qualify to be a hospice even though many of the children survive and continue to live in the home. They take babies and children no one would touch.

@@aminatyusuff6921 it's not hospice, it's a home for abandoned special needs children and abandoned children. Like you rightly said most of this kids can still function fully in their own capacity and live a long life and some ofthem may not even have any medical conditions like the abandoned twins. Hospice is for persons who suffer from ailments they are not expected to recover from, which will ultimately lead to their death ( terminal illnesses that may cause death within 6months in most cases). Because someone is an abandoned twin or born with congenital defect doesn't translate to death.
I was just curious to know if Nigeria has developed to the extent of having and accepting hospice care, hence my initial comment.

@florenceokoasedr9479 I believe the hospice knows what a hospice means and just didn't choose the name out of ignorance. Perhaps take some time to go visit, you may find the answers you need.

@@aminatyusuff6921Why do you people argue blindly? @florenceokoasedr9479 explained perfectly what "hospice care" means. Orphanage and Home for Special Needs children isn't hospice care!

This lady is amazing and her humility is top notch🙌🏾👏🏽. However, I’d urge her to get proper diagnosis for the condition of the children she is looking after instead of using labelling words.
That being said, concerning the “rich” family that tied their child up, I’m not making any excuses for them but most people that treat special needs children like that is sometimes due to ignorance and stigmatisation; for example, Otedola kept his son away from the public eye for years not because he didn’t love his son but because he knew the Nigeria as of then were not acceptance of people with disabilities and even after he introduced his son to the world; the negative stigma was horrible.
The Nigeria and world at large of today are gradually becoming sensitive and aware of the importance of inclusion and that’s because of awareness and promotion.
Nevertheless, fantastic video Mr Chude, keep up with the good work 👏🏽
