- When I was in my teens, I went to the Singles Conference held by Pastors Olumide and Ify Emmanuel at the National Stadium, joining thousands at the jam-packed event. I couldn’t have known that while they taught, their marriage had become a battle zone, with his wife allegedly being physically violent and taking his children away from him ever since.
He says from that deep pain came his message to the world on marriage, relationships and faith, helping people understand what they should do to themselves and what they should take to God in prayer.
I have been invited to preach at Dr Emmanuel’s church in my other lives over a decade ago, and have seen the lives he has changed close up.
The truths he shares are piercing.

I have listened to a couple of clips from him regarding his bad experience in marriage. I sympathize with him. A bad partner can make your life a misery but to be fair judges we also need to hear from the wife before we conclude that she was the sole bad partner. There are always 2 sides to a story.
If you watched the interview with pastor Kingsley, he said he also had his own fault. This man obviously battled with emotional abuse

Men typically endure/suffer in silence. Unfortunately, when a man tells you he was abused, you want to hear the wife’s side before you make a decision, But if the reverse were the case, you believe her story instantly. 😢😢

U mean the ex wife? Listen, everyone is right in their own eyes. I do not care for anyone's version because only God knows the heart and usually the one best able to present their case and is more likeable wins before men. But God sees differently. Therefore go mind yours and be humble before thine master and head, your husband as the bible says explicitly.
I remember my late uncle, a professor of psychiatry, once made a comment that 90% of people rushing to Redeemed Camp every month just needed psychotherapy, they didn't have spiritual problems, I guess he was right after all, God rest his soul!

I disagree. western culture is too much in your ears. How many people back then talked about emotional wounds. People like Joseph who was betrayed by his own brothers into slavery did not complain of emotional problem and use it as an excuse to sleep with Potiphar's wife??? we play too much with sin and excuses. Regardless of what might have happened between you and your ex. You should have kept in touch with your children. I don't know about now but I know as of the 2006 , she was in Nigeria and perhaps may still be in Nigeria. Sir, you had no excuse not to see your children, I believe that's why they haven't reached out to you. You should search yourself as well. This should be a lesson to all father's that believe the kids would look for you when they are grown and hence neglect their responsibilities.

There is too much fornication, adultery, carelessness, arrogance, materialism, cultural and family interference for Christian marriages to be pure. I disagree with Pastor Olumide on his interpretation of what Jesus said about divorce. How can Jesus mean that anyone that ‘put her away’ without certificate of divorce and then goes to marry another is guilty of adultery when they were allowed to marry more than one wife? I will listen to more of his teaching on the subject to get a better context and then make a conclusion.

@@pdm8446 many people want to interpret the Bible based on their FEELINGS. That is wrong and dangerous. One of my pastors asked me to imagine one of my children being gay. He said, how would you feel about it. Perhaps you will struggle with what the scripture says about homosexuality. My response was, I will be troubled by it but it doesn’t change what the scripture says about it. Many people want to change the scripture to suit their situation. My relationship isn’t where I want it to be but it doesn’t change what Jesus said about divorce.
@@onomeonota23 There is no where in the Bible that God says we are allowed to marry more than one wife. People like Abraham for example did it but God never permitted it and look where it got him. Marrying Hagar led to the Islamic religion that is causing problems today. Look at what happened when Jacob married Leah and Rachel, another set of problems. If you read the Bible to understand, you’ll start to grasp the nature of God. He allows things to happen even if that is not his will for us. Pastor Olumide said it in this video not to use selective interpretation for the Bible. There are other scriptures that say 1 man to 1 woman. Watch his other videos, he explains it

I Love Daddy Olumide Emmanuel but the truth as outlined through scripture is that God doesn't support divorce and it's a sin. I can understand the different situations people go through but in using the bible as a reference, the cases for divorce are spelt out and the posture to take after divorce are also spelt out by Apostle Paul
But if you have remarried and you are so so wonderfully happy then what l still dont understand is why this continous crusade about you past marriage of how many many years ago? So much focus on her and where then is the so called christ love? I mean if she did all those horrible unforgivable things ( maybe God sef no gree forgive the Woman too) and God who loves you far better was able to save you from her and you had a lucky escape then please l am eager to know why still talking about her? This is about the third platform now ( am sure there is probably more) of the same ex-wife. I wonder how does your ex-in laws feel about this continual talk shows about their daughter, sister, Auntie, etc and your present inlaws feel? and of course the present wife?. I know of a man whose wife was mentally unstable and was turtoring him and making life unbearable. He tried leaving many times, but when they all finally admitted that the wife needs psychological care, thing got better. While I think he may not be faultless, I believe him
