I saw another video where guy got .5 grams from 1000g of the same chips. He ground by hand and shifted the pins. It's possible that the blender knocked a bunch of super fine gold flakes off the pins. Very fine gold can float and takes longer to sink in thick ashy liquids. You may have accidentally washed some of it away.
This is why I treat ash and pins with AR... Then dilute with water... Then filter and rinse a few times. Then boil down AR removing nitrates at the same time. Then drop gold.
Well done! Result is per the expectations. Such ICs have at about 0.4g gold per kg. 🌟 👍
We have 320kg of ICs from 1972 - 1992. 60% before 1986. only Plastik.
What do you think about Au/Ag ?
We think 1.5 - 1.7g Au and same Ag a little Bit Pd ?! Realistic? Or More ? Or less ?
@@hanswurst3731 Hi, result above 1,5g I’ve seen for two sided ICs when part of the legs and all metal inside the plastic is gold plated. Unfortunately USA, Europe and Japan ICs in many cases have only gold wire between legs and crystal. Break some of the ICs plastic and check if metal is gold plated or only wire is gold. This is the difference between 0.4g per kg and 1.5+ g per kg.

Just wondering, instead of crushing what if you put them into a tumbling system with pure ammonia? I'm not 100% sure but I think it would wash/eat away all ash/carbon leaving behind a way better product to deal with! I never tried it but I was going to when I had time! If you do it before I do hit me up so I can check it out! If I do it before you I will tag you so you can see the progress! I will only post the video if it works!

Is there no silver in those chips? You go straight to aqua regia instead of using straight nitric to pull out the silver and other base metals.
HI James. How would one use the nitric to get the silver throughout these steps? I've been experimenting with gold recovery and have been successful so far but cannot come across a straight answer online for silver recovery... ? Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks.

Ih have mix of various type of ic chips. Do the legs have to be separated from the chips with nitric acid or I can burn them and grind only

So different Analysis between:
0.5g - 2.8g Au,
0.8g - 6.0g Ag, 0,06g - 0.4g Pd,
0.01g - 0.04g Pt, and !! Ir 0.003g and Rh 0.0009g (in 2 Analysis) !!
