Congratulations on the new addition! Whilst $14K is a substantial whack to your hard-earned income, it is an excellent investment in your family's future travel and adventure. That level of power capability will open up a whole range of travel options across this wonderful country. I'm retired, so upgrading my AGM and solar panels for this high-tech gear is probably not a worthwhile investment at our stage. Most of our stuff is on-road anyway, but we still have plenty of power for free-camp when needed. Kudos to the Custom Lithium team for their behind the scenes tour. Wonderful that we have a crew who makes this quality gear within Australia. The 5 year warranty is excellent. Thanks for the insight. Very best wishes for the continuing re-build endeavours!
This is GOLD, an Aussie company hand making batteries, then standing behind the product for 5 years!!!! Thanks guys we know where we are going in the future, no dodgy imports...... 14K installed??? That is 2k cheaper than most just supply, money well spent.
We also have a Custom Lithium battery system in our renovated 1988 Windsor Poptop caravan and it is fantastic, although I dyi'ed our system and it hasn't missed a beat, You will not be disapointed with your system. Cheers
That's an awesome system guys. I love the whole made in house process that custom lithium offers. If it wasn't for videos like these we wouldn't know where to Start for a lithium upgrade, especially because we live so far from businesses like this. Cheers guys.
Yep, this video made my final decission on a battery, was gonna go else where but when a bussines has no email or web, or phone number its a deal breaker. Ill be spending $8000 on batterys in the next 6 months, bussiness they lost and im not the only one
Hi great video! Great system remember poor man always pays twice! Plus a cheap system like all things in life it will only let you down miles from nowhere! Vitron great choice! So good you are showing people that when you have a van with good bones to start with nowadays with some good resources and good advice you can build a great unit on a budget! Thanks!
We’ll definitely trial it! We are pretty realistic about running the aircon off the battery though so will only be for short periods to cool the van down a little
Just got to this video, and the system looks and sounds like it'll meet all your needs. Just wanting to understand the impact that system has on your weights. The battery, Victron gear and the six panels certainly sounds like a lot of extra weight. Will subscribe and keep a lookout for all your future videos.
Hey! Yes our system has added some weight but we also took a fair chunk out by removing the agm’s and original charging system. We have added roughly 100kg to the van 👍🏼
Great vid and a cracker of a system guys! Can not fault Custom Lithium batteries, nor the Victron gear. Looking forward to watching the van reno progress!
Hi Guys, Love the idea of renovating and finding it really interesting. When you said the cost of the Lithium setup I had to pause the video and go change my pants. To be honest with the price of caravan parks now if you can stay off grid you will slowly make it back again. Cheers
Yeah it was a lot but like we said can be done for less if done differently. It’s one of the main things we wanted to do from the moment we talked about getting an older van and we are absolutely stoked with the system!
That a lot of money but, you have experience of what you need plus it has the ability to have solar and battery upgraded, as tow vehicle allows. From UK and watch a few of you vaner's and the way park prices seem 10 days off grid is a saving of $500, prob more. Something which needs to be factored in to anyone's build price as an offset. Enjoying the reno series and it will be interesting to watch the difference's you find between having a new van and an older reno'd one 👍
Fantastic video, really enjoy seeing you build the van. It sounds as though they import the cells, and build the battery packs here?. Otherwise that would be magnificent to have a battery manufacturer in Australia to do this type of thing for vans. I've started to build my e-bike batteries, to be able to build them at the level of quality I want them to be built too, such as amperage output, bms and capacity.
Hey mate genuine question, I have 405 amp Lithium capacity in my van but went with 3 batteries rather than 1. Are you concerned about redundancy if it does fail or do you consider the lithium you have in the canopy as your redundancy? Cheers Mark.
It doesn’t worry me to be honest. I think the chances of it failing are such small percentage and if it did happen to fail then we’d just deal with it whenever and wherever it happens 👍🏼
If it helps, we install Custom Lithium batteries on the daily, and have been doing so since their inception, to date we have not had any issues. We highly recommend Custom Lithium.
Ive hoping to do the lap on my one....I have a recent model Triton and as such, one my own etc, dont need a big van like yours.. Any recommendations of brands to look at.?
Lots of great brands out there but budget is the biggest factor with how much you want to spend! Kedron Sunland Titanium Sunseeker Are all great but not cheap Otherwise you can look at Jayco and a few other cheaper brands 👍🏼
@@nowornever_aus Thanks Budget would be 40 to 50 for the Van. Could spend more for the right rig. Not looking at extreme off road...mix of tourist parks and free camping, some medium off road to off grid locations, etc. Want to keep the weight down as much as possible. Only one of me. Solar for an AC is essential.
Hi Guys, was the job completed by certified and licensed HV technician? Only asking as I have been told that its required when an inverter is being installed into the system. Thanks
$14,000 is a good price for that setup, come to ripoff adelaide, had a qoute for $17500 to do a setup on a new 12ft caravan, not bad for a weeks work , materials would of been $5-6k Im gonna give these guys a call for a battery.
@@nowornever_aus will do, just checked their site, their prices are pretty good, i was gonna use enerdrive, than found a guy in melbourne called power paul batterys, but hes hard to get a hold of so F$%k him, gonna call these guys tomorrow.
Each panel is 12kg each and the battery is 40kg so with everything else I’m guessing g around 150kg. But then take away the old agm battery ( which I struggled to lift out! ) and the old charger etc I’d say we added around 100kg
HI used to love watching your video but was disappointed that you now are suggesting that people become a patron you say that people wanted to become a patron but find that hard to believe you seem to have have all the direction for people if you can afford $14000you can fund your own trip disappointed won't watch again think a few people will be leaving you have talked about it with a few travellers and they say the same
Great vid, lots of information. Couple of questions, what was the cost for 400ah battery and have you ever had hail damage to your solar panels or has any of your subscribers? Cheers!

You will not regret the battery system . I have victron set up, best product on the market.
We are loving it so far!
👌🏻
So Ben from custom lithium is a good mate of mine. Yes I have one of theirs in my truck and it’s faultless
Ah that’s awesome!! Not a single negative thing has been said about their gear yet!

Loving these renovation videos
Thanks! We love making them!
Great video and using victron gear is the way to go cheers 😊
Thanks! Loving the victron gear, can’t fault it at all yet!
We have just had 2 custom lithium batteries installed in our van. Really looking forward to testing them out!
That’s awesome!

Yes! 💪🏼

ATG do a 300ah Lifepo4 battery made in Perth for $1895, steel cased 38 kg..
Be careful guys. 😯 The electricity companies will be wanting you to park at their power stations to boost their supplies. LOL 🤪

Yes the lithium comes from overseas for them to be able to sell them for a price to allow them to be competitive in the market!
Extracting the lithium from the earth is an extremely tricky process which isn’t performed in Australia.
Hey Alex, love ya show. How many total amps did you have when you had AGM batteries and how long could you go before needing recharging? Thanks.
The van had a single 105ah agm but we never used it as we upgraded the battery system straight away
@@nowornever_aus Thanks for taking the time to reply.. Safe travels.
