Yeah, you made that way more difficult for yourself than you needed to :P Tricking on the last mushroom of the shortcut is not faster and tends to be the reason you go super wide. It's better if you treat it similar to how you treat the last mushroom of the level, just faster cause of the shroom boost and you have to ignore the fact there's no boost panel to land on. Nevertheless, good work! My staff ghosts aren't the hardest ones ever invented, but I think I like this level of difficulty in an expert ghost, personally. Also, I knew exactly how many people I'd be torturing when I made these mushroom sections, yes :P What was going through my mind when I made everything was, I want to make a track in honour of Mushroom Gorge since it got glitched, and I also want to make a track that's hard and where you can abuse the mechanics of tricking, not tricking, and inside drift in interesting ways (i.e. with the ending mushroom). I think I certainly got that :P Similarly Incendia Castle was made because of the glitch of Grumble Volcano, hence it uses the GV slot and implements the falling rocks (as floors) and other obstacles of the track.
I don't think Expert Staff Ghosts should be impossible to beat but I like it when the level of difficulty is hard enough for it to take at least a couple of hours like this one.
Yea my brain makes me automatically trick off that last mushroom pad just because it feels so unnatural not to. Really cool to get some insight on Peaks and Incendia, thanks! Also, I agree, it was the perfect level of difficulty :)
MrBean35000vr hey is there a certain program to use to make custom tracks or are their multiple I know not all Cts make it it CTGP but I would love to make my own mario kart tracks to share with friends
For the right path on the big mushroom section, the key is to hit the mushrooms in the center (not on the left or the right side), and also hit them barely closer to you than the middle (rather than at the very front or back). The mushrooms have that bulge in the center, so you want to hit them at the front of the bulge to get the most air, but you don't want to hit the mushrooms on the left or right side because then you won't get air. The exception is on the last 2 mushrooms when you have the shroom boost, then you want to hit the mushrooms on the right side to cut off the most distance. I'm pretty sure you know what I mean but if what I just said is confusing, watch the BKT and you'll see. For the left path (which you'll be doing online most of the time, so you want to get good at this too), you always want to be on the left-most mushrooms, which is what you did at the beginning of the video (don't hit those ones on the right side that are lower). The easiest way is as follows: Trick off the initial ramp while drifting left Don't trick Trick Don't trick Don't trick Now you should be on the green mushroom. Do not wheelie off the green mushroom. Then: Don't trick Trick Trick and you've made it. For the last couple mushrooms, you want to make sure to land in the same spot which gives you the most air, which I described at the beginning of this comment.
New info, the bit of the shroom that slopes up is where you wanna hit, the middle is 2nd highest bounce. Between the slope and the perimeter is the lowest bounce. Edit: well technically if you hit the edge you get an even lower bounce, but that's hard on 99% of tracks and very inconsistent. Youve probably hit multiple edge tricks on kinoko cave
I actually think it was no coincidence - Bean is known for always using Luigi, so nothing would have been more fitting than to choose to pick Luigi's brother.
Personally I don’t really like peaks. There’s never been a time when I think, “wow, I’m glad peaks was picked.” I’m able to make the mushroom section consistently, just don’t find the track too fun to drive.
I'm not sure if he ever figured it out, but mushrooms have different hitboxes. There are two dark circles: one on the outside and the cap is dark red. There is a lighter circle in between the cap and the edge. Hitting this circle sends you much higher and farther, and you have to line up on the light part rather than the dark red parts.
If Mushroom Peaks is going to stay in CTGP, they're going to _have_ to fix the mushrooms. Sure, it's supposed to be a difficult track, but the way it's set up it's pretty much Kaizo levels of difficult.
This was actually the first track my sister and I loaded when I installed Riivolution back in the day. It was amazing then and now holds so many memories.

@@tekayo63 Your point? Nostalgia isn't a bad thing like you make it out to be. Only too much nostalgia is bad, and keeping Mushroom Peaks, or at least making it a secret track, isn't too much nostalgia. And when you say "Nintendo relies on nostalgia", no they don't. There are plenty of good modern games that Nintendo owns that aren't nostalgic. Splatoon, Nintendo Land, ARMS, and Fantasy Life to name a few. There may be quite a few Mario games, but don't think there isn't any fresh franchises in between said Mario games.
@@yoshilikes24-chesscraft94 My point is that people are hypocritical. many say Nintendo "relies on nostalgia" (when they don't, you're right) and then get all fired up when someone mentions Peaks being removed.
for the "easy" mushroom route theres a really simple way of clearing it every time, first of all you want to start on the left mushroom, dont trick the ramp, and you do this - bounce, bounce, trick, bounce, wheelie (on the green mushroom), bounce, trick, trick yup, thats all you need to know

I just got CTGP and I tried to play this track without falling off a single time, but let me tell you that it is beyond frustrating, especially at the end of the long mushroom section.
I think you should use Yoshi, Mach Bike. It is a great combination and it works a lot like Funky Kong, Flame Runner. It’s a great challenge when you play a different character so much, but it is a lot of fun. I think you’ll like this combination.
I would love to see a Mushroom Peaks II that's just as hard but has some more natural terrain forms; not to replace it, just to see what's possible with the core concept and modern tools. I want to see this track benefit from what modern tools have to offer. :D
I think the reward of a cut depends on the record you're beating. If the world record perfects the quickest set of shortcuts every lap, you're not competing without learning them yourself and getting all the possible luck. Also try lowtricking in those high ledges.
