The weather in Chile depends of the region, just like in the U.S. it depends of the state. I live in Antofagasta (north) so the winter is just a little bit colder but that's it, there's no rain or anything, maybe some drizzle. Central Chile, which Linares is in, has more rain, and you can also see every season; and in the south it's just rain and snow almost all year (10 months or so). For the rapid change of temperatures we always say "dress like an onion" just add or take off layers, that's the way to do it.
God, I love the southern weather here in Chile, when is all rainy and you can have 'sopaipillas' and 'mate' with your family around a chimney... In some cities, chimneys are forbidden because of pollution (in Santiago for example), but you still can eat sopaipillas and warm up a little. Happy birthday to Elise!!!

And from Southern California all the way down into Mexico's Baja peninsula climate conditions are a lot like Norte Chico and all the way north to the Peruvian border." aww. wish Elise a late happy birthday haha. according to the weather, I remember years ago when I was in primary, in the Maule region it used to rain for days without stopping. like a whole week. then it stopped a day and it continued another week. however with the passing of time it changed to what we can see now. I love all seasons! There's something about fall that is so artistic, mostly the colors, but I always have this feeling of serenity and I love being home looking out the window and watching the leaves fall, and the rain. I've always liked countries like Ireland and England where it's raining all the time! So when it gets cloudy,rainy and windy I just love it. It's probably in my genes. By the way, I've always dreamed of a white christmas (as in snow lol) I would like to live in the US but in the colder places. It's really ironic because i'm a super warm person. Great video! Hey Jon, love your videos! Speaking of weather, if you have the chance of coming to Araucanía, I would recommend comingo on spring. The weather is still a bit rainy, but it's absolutely beautiful because there's flowers everywhere! You can visit Temuco, which is a big city here in the south (it's where I live), or Pucón which is right under the Villarrica volcano and the Villarrica lake, or visit Conguillio National Park, that has lots of beautiful native forests (araucarias mostly) and lakes. As you can see, there's a lot to do here in Araucanía, the land of the Mapuche. I highly recomend it!!
the weather will get colder as you approach the main winter months, i remember when i used to live in Chile, specifically in Santiago which is further to the north of Linares, it would get so cold in winter time in the morning specially after a rainy night that even the pools on the ground would freeze over and there would be frost all over the grass and on plants like a small blanket of snow and the streets would be covered in black ice, something i'm yet to see here in the US, also unlike anywhere in continental US, you can find big glaciers up in the mountains of Santiago and those close to Linares. anyhow, it was a really "cool" story Tio.

In chile is not the same climate in the whole country for example in the south if there is snow most of the year then you can not generalize chile with the part in which you live also in the east of all chile there is almost always snow
Come to Chillán, 90 minutes at south from Linares, when the winters comes. Come to eat longanizas, queso chancho, arrollados... and don't forget to bring good clothes
