So , when theres stucco already you jusy have to apply the cement on the back of the stone right? I mean theres no need to re scratch the surface right? Thx
Help! I am doing my kitchen island and it is not a flat side with 90 degree corners. It it bends around like a hexagon. I would like to do the 3 main sides of the oak island, and leave the other side with the cabinets alone. How do I cut the edges around these slight corners? I have a skill saw, a jig saw and a grinder (all Ryobi) not sure if a tile cutter and cut angles. DO I have to have a mitar-saw inorder to cut the angles need for these low angled corners?
I have noticed a grey wall and an orange wall in the video. Was there a special coating or sealant applied to the stucco before installation? I will be installing over stucco. How can I install right over the stucco and assure that I will not get any water behind the stone veneer? I live in Florida. Thank you.
Don't have to make groupings so don't fall off? Notched trowel? Usually 3ft then wait so the weight doesn't force down , if have answer would help me as I'm doing a bid today
Yes, you can also use a skill saw with a 7";diamond blade, they only are about 15 - 20 dollars at home depot; But if you are doing a huge job, I would pick up a wet saw used; The dry method creates a lot of dust, it gets old.
I am curious as to what the bond strength is on the stone to mortar to the scratch coat. I've picked some of these pieces up and they are heavy. You make it look easy to do but I doubt that's the case..
The panel’s should be cleaned with a wet sponge before applying to a dampened surface…all surfaces should be clean and dampened for the mortar to create a trouble free bond between panels n wall.
Lol nope I'm a professional Mason you would have to tear the stucco down to get them off it's masonry to masonry it's fine just like you can stick tile over existing tile same thing

Great info! I've been thinking about doing a stone veneer on the front of my house.
I don't have a wet saw. What else can I cut this stone with? Will an angle grinder work?

Can you Install the panel over stucco or would you have to smooth it out BEFORE?
