This is so good and I am very thankful you posted. We have hosted SWA book girls for the past two summers and it is unreal what they go through. Learning perseverance through trials is a huge benefit of the internship but the salespeople become almost zombie-like as the summer has progressed as they face exhaustion and malnourishment. They do not seem to understand the basics of nutrition and hydration especially in Texas 104 degree heat. I worry about one of them every day because she can't afford a rental car and is riding her bike 40 minutes (partially on the highway) to get to her territory.

I just watched your video. I did Southwestern Advantage (when it was still called Southwestern Company)...and I can say that your experience was VERY MUCH like mine. Thank you for posting the video.

Hello, thank you so much for sharing your experience with those scammers. Long time ago I also tried SW , it was so horrible like the worst nightmare. I never could believe that such unethical companies and managers can still exist. How does no institution prohibit them ?? there was a lot of horrible things but I can mention a few: I remember they were asking how much money do every participant have, also they said that if we need to find accomodation we need to go to a local priest and ask for help. I was sick of all that brain washing . they kept saying that we can't quite so we will loose our visa. I had to approach police to help me get out of that shit . since they know that I asked for a help from police that company left me in piece :)

My friend is working with them right now and she’s having the SAME experience! They basically make her fake being happy. She’s not allowed to have her own thoughts or feelings! They make her feel guilty for having a bad day and they’re making her feel even worse for not getting as many customers as THEY want. Overall, she is having a horrible experience and she’s just flat out miserable.. hopefully more people will see this video before they decide to go work their butts off for a company that cares more about sales than the college students they have slaving away for them.
Thank you for posting this video! I’m not even physically there and I’m miserable for my friend.

Brandi Lynn If you get a chance to talk to her, just encourage her and let her know that it is okay to go home if things do not get better. Tell her to keep her head up and not allow anyone to make her feel like she is a failure because her sales are low.

Did they charge you money to get a job ? how much it was ?

No, they do not charge people to work for them. However, you will not get paid like a regular job. Instead, you get a commission based on the number of books sold.

WVU GROUP, 1975 TN, 1976 GA, 1977 FL (Elvis died), 1978 IL Great times. No student loans.
I was married May 25, 1975 in WV, and started sales school May 26. My wife came with me but didn't sell in Polk Co. TN first summer. I needed those Sunday meetings, to be sure I was doing average. I had great managers and I made it. In 1972 I went to Marine Corps boot camp. Now you want to talk about a program not for everyone, that was it. Only half made it to graduation. You talked 45 minutes and I picked up a few fond memories.

Don’t compare the marines to this joke some people call a company

I think it’s weird that you mention that you heard of southwestern advantage in 2009 but didn’t publish this video until 2018. Seems like it took a long time to get your ideas in check. As a student who has completed two summers with Southwestern Advantage (2017, 2018) & had an amazing experience, it seems like you just lacked good training from your student leader. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad company at all because a lot of the things you mention that are “bad” are things I never went through. I would just like to say that you shouldn’t shame the company as a whole for the experience you had. Thanks for sharing though!

I worked at southwestern in 2009 and I shared my Personal Experience with the company. A friend of mine asked for my opinion on southwestern, and that was what inspired me to make this video and let people know what goes on in this company. If you had a good experience, good for you. Like I shared in my video, some people have a great experience and others do not. If you watched the video and listened to what I said (seems like you did not) you would know this. The company needs improvement and they can be better then what they are now. This is based on MY experience and talking to people who have worked at southwestern advantage. You can make a video sharing your own experience with southwestern. Until then, thanks for stopping by and take care.

I started looking up this company after hearing about a girl getting r*ped in the book field and the company not believing her/covering it up.

How can you dare ?????!!!!!!! what kind of experience knocking on the doors where nobody wants you and every time people call the police!!! Is it a good experience ???!!!! Do you know that company doesn't know that ? They do know but they just don't give a shit. They wanna keep the not paid labor for as long as possible !!!!! who wouldn't like to have servants who do a dirty nasty humiliating job for free ?? and give them only profit. Poor student who has no experience has to go through that hell because old daddies are greedy and wanna profit at any cost!!!!!! It shouldn't be like that. In my opinion this is just a human trafficing . And you Alondra either brainwashed either you know everything but just don't tell because have a personal interest. if so so you are nothing else but just an aferist like many who are from that pyramid.

A serious company would not put strangers under the same roof during the pandemic of the coronavirus. That is what SWD is doing right now.
