  • I did the Southwestern Advantage program while I attended the University of Colorado at Boulder. Here's a quick video on my experience.

On point! Thanks for your words, if some people are wondering and reading some negative comments - i can add as well that it's not easy. Everyone works hard here and if somebody just looks for an option to try something where you can laze around - it's not for you. But if you want to grow and have high goals for the future, work your ass of for it and that's a program that helps with that.
Not by the accident the company is year by year winning awards for being a TOP Internship in USA amongst google, Intel, Amazon, NASA, Disney, General Motors etc.

This is the income disclosure statement from the southwestern advantage website as of posting this comment.
    First
Year Median Total Income % of Participants
    1 - 20 Days 172.44 27.03%
    21 - 40 Days 839.91 11.55%
    41 - 60 Days 3,909.02 6.56%
    61 + Days 9,709.12. 54.86%
    Let's do the math:
This means: working a minimum wage job (7.25 federal minimum) 5 Days a week, or 40 hour weeks for three weeks guarantees you $870 over 20 days. Regardless of if you sell anything or not. Add to that only 27 % of people even make over 100 bucks in sw... And you don't have 13 hour days, mandatory team breakfasts, pie thrown in faces of the least popular/profitable team members, or weird sunday cult meetings. Just a thought.

Ain't no way the pie thrown in face thing is real but if so then yeah that's f'd up. However, pointing out the money is missing the whole point of the internship. It's about growth and really challenging yourself. Yes, the money is a benefit but, at least from my experience, they make it very clear that money should not be the motivation and make you away of just how rigorous this is gonna be. I'll be honest though, I just started so I could very well be falling into their scheme but to me the negativity comes from people who really don't understand the worth of the program. Anything can be made to sound evil with the right wording.

Great internship experience! I’m aiming to return for a second summer. It’s been instrumental in developing key skills for my future career.
Not suitable for those lacking motivation or ambition.
My mentors and managers did an exceptional job preparing me for the summer, which led to excellent results.

    Really recommend this summer internship.
Just finished my first summer with Southwestern Advantage and I think I’ll do it again.
I’ve learned a lot about how the sales and business works.
