This is any new car really. I have a gmc and even for that you need a dealer level scanner to read the body and chassis codes which make up half. This video is a lil old but it’s still a valuable lesson and can’t agree more. Don’t be deterred on yearly fees, even if you use your tool once every 3-4 years it’s still paying for itself.
Great stuff. When I work on my Alfas I think either 'What clever engineers these Italians are' or 'What could they possibly be thinking.' I have a '59 Giulietta, a 71 GTV, had a Milano and now have the 2019 Giulia. With the ever shrinking network of Alfa dealerships / service locations, it is time to learn to work on the Giulia.
Great video, but for newer cars, you will need an SGW bypass, which is a pain in the axx to install. Imho the cable/desktop variant is cheaper overall. I have the cable variant.
Hello, if you select the "Magna Q4 Transfer Case" would you be able to check in real-time whether the power goes 100% to the rear or some torque is sent to the front? I think this would be helpful for all of us to understand better how the Q4 system works! Cheers!
Great Video, thanks Question, Can this system reset the rear wiper. Mine on the 2018 stelvio just won't stop working. I had to disconect the wiper motor.
So this is like the Toyota/Lexus "Techtream" SW...... Or Audi & VW VagCom/VCDS. That is, if one is out of Warranty. Since, if you're still within your Warranty period, you'll want the dealership to take care of diagnosing and taking care of the problem. Which is something that should be Addressed for the layman whom doesn't know, or isn't aware. Great video though.
This is great, but I also have heard that even if you bring the codes and tell the mechanic what’s codes the cars throwing, they’ll just say no and do their own diagnostics and still charge you money. So what use is the code reader if they are not going to listen anyways? Just wondering what your take on this is. Best!
There is two really big benefits. One if you are handy, you might be able to address the issues yourself. The other is this is a check against the dealer or independent mechanic. You would already have an idea what is wrong before you bring it in, and don’t have to take their word for it. Especially if they’re trying to take advantage of you.
The OBD MX+ is not tied to the software, completely different companies. It can be used to diagnose many cars using it's own software but for the Alfas you gotta get the MES software separately
Don't you have to pay for the software every year just to use it? I got some Autel or something that was on promo when you buy it you can activate one brand to work with forever and so far it was able to clear every single check engine light on my Mito, will see once the Giulia arrive if it will be able to work there as well
@@_fast4lfathat's not true. The OBD MX+ can be used for any vehicle as it's a universal OBD reader with it's own app and an extensive database. But to do the Alfa work, gotta get that MES software separately
@@ir0nhead11 did you buy the software and we're you able to reset the days and mileage till service? I have been looking for a way to do my own oil change.
This video is a bit misleading. Where do you download the software for the laptop for the full version? I bought the adapter and can see that it comes with a light version software that is limited.
@@_fast4lfa I have the Multiecuscan app just like you do and the OBD Link MX+ and after following all the steps as you say on your video my oil life (Days/Miles) is not resetting.
@@Smilldon It would be the turbo O rings. Would recommend doing all 4... 2 coolant and 2 oil. Lots of the 17/18 models have this problem. Thus making the W05 recall for keeping the turbo water pump active longer. A dealer will charge 2-4 hours labor, but if you decide to do it yourself please get the dealer O-rings. I've seen Giulias catch fire cause for using the wrong O-rings. If you need assistance DIYing it DM me.
@@vexuniversal2560 Is the turbo water pump the device that after parking can be heard making an electronic wail noise from under the hood? I have a 2019 and it makes that noise. I am curious if I can also replace the O-rings on mine and what it requires.
Yes I wanted to get an alfa again my favorite driving experience ever but was hesitant since there is no dealer in el paso you know any other dealer that would work on alfa from your experience
I noticed there was a section for Brakes. Would this be able to solve a brake issue that I'm having? While steadily braking from a slow roll to a stop, like coming to a red light, my stelvio suddenly stops a little bit harder. Not a big deal, but it's annoying. 4:49
Definitely a helpful video brother, THANK YOU💯

do you have recommended cable to hardwire to a pc for the full version of multiecuscan?
Great video! Don't you also need to connect an SWG-Bypass module in order to be able to have access and clear all codes?
Not on the 2018
That’s why you pay for the extended warranty also as an option as well
Thanks!!!!

But even when in warranty this is a good failsafe to make sure you aren’t being lied to
Thanks for sharing this. I guess you don't need the SGW bypass module if you have the OBD MX+?
Nope 2017-2018 didn’t have the bypass
Where do you buy this software ?
I got the wired one and use my steam deck to run the program lol.
Bella Machina.

Alfissimo.com
the dealerships do not use MES
Make a video how to replace trans oil

Can I change my taillights to eu mode with this? I have a 2018 qf and got the euro.clear lights
What do you mean eu mode?
Can you reset maintenance intervals with this?
Yes absolutely
can you provide a link to purchase the software please ?
I don’t have the link but if you go to Alfissimo’s website you’ll find it there easily
What software and hardwire do you recommend?
MES software and grey and blue cables from alfissimo
Can this find any errors on the faulty relays?
Yes
Can you do a video on how to reset that there a lot of people asking the same thing on the forums
Possibly
It’s very simple, just go into the service tab and hit reset.

For everything you need the hardwired Version
