the rear suspension has something really wrong with it. Either the springs are way too stiff, or the actual suspension is way too stiff, it bounces like a static car would. It'll both get easier and faster (more fun) if you set it up correctly. If you have cheapo coilovers look if you can adjust stuff that isn't the ride height and start playing with it, if it's stock change the coilovers because they're done

yea i have maxspeedingrods coils i was just hoping for the best out of them lol but honestly they need to go, any good coilover suggestions would be appreciated ive been weighing my options recently

@@alkemyy Stance Xr1 is what I recommend. I have a set of them on my 1jz is300 and they ride great. Make sure you get custom spring rates when you do buy a set of good coilovers. See what other e36 owners run. Good luck :)
It's not the coilovers. It's bottoming out on the bump stops and overpowering the dampers. Raise the rear ride height about an inch and a half and it'll make a WORLD of a difference.

Seems like half of ur spins were caused by the front tyres hitting the body of the car at full steering lock and then the other ones are probably because the rear springs are way too stiff for drifting.
I was gonna say, the rear end definitely does not have enough travel. He's bottoming out and losing contact with the pavement.

Just had my first event this past weekend at midpond, coming from assetto as well, got a 350z, and event went well, its basically just like assetto honestly, you was killin it on the track tho big dawg, main track looks mad fun
thats what im tryna hear right there thats wassup‼️ but tbh it really is like assetto you just need to build the confidence to pull off whatever it is, and have some spending 💰 too😭

Great shit for your first event bro, but looks like your suspension might be a bit too tight, bouncing around like crazzyy, might be able to adjust damper (if you've got adjusties) and tune that out, otherwise get that shit bro!
i wish i could adjust them but i cant lol i should be getting some new coils soon tho and maybe do a comparison video on maxspeedingrods vs whatever i decide on getting, if you got any ideas lmk!

I remember my first track day and the happiness and fun it brought.. nothing hits better than mobbing to the track in ya shit box to beat tf out of and than driving it home at the end of the drift day!
it really hit different this day, after all those hours on sim, all the grinding on that car, the amount of hours and days that went behind making that day even possible for me is unexplainable, but it was all worth it and it only gets better i hope to see you shredding out there!!

this might not get seen but when you notice you're slipping out on corners like the one you kept trying around the cone, i recommend trying to feather the gas like you did on that last attempt or sometimes all together not holding the gas down if you notice you have the speed and angle already, and another tip is to maybe focus on the front angles of your car its what i look at when i drift, i don't look at my steering wheel

and for the focusing on the front of the car ofc it's only gonna make sense if you can see over the dash properly in your car, but if you ever change cars there you have it!

I did this for the first time too after using my Thrustmaster TS-PC wheel for a year or so in Assetto Corsa, took my BMW to an empty parking lot and hit some good drifts and donuts. 100% translates over

Solid runs from a Sim drifter man. Its a number of things with that rear end hopping, I drift e36 as well. Raise rear and front a little, go to very little negative on the rear camber, make sure you are reinforced back there and also seems you had a little to much grip on the rear for the amount of power you are making. Good shit overall, once suspension is tweaked youll be shredding
im actually reinforcing the entire rear end soon just waiting on parts and been debating on what budget suspension to get, i kinda want something replaceable that wont cost an arm an a leg which is why i tried maxpprods but maybe i should just buy some bc’s tbh

Great job for first time excellent man this proves racing Sims do translate to real life like iRacing and corsa. One s let the wheel center it's self and slid through hands. I race dirt 800 HP latemodel and been racing asphalt and dirt ovals since I was 10 and you did great man just don't shuffle the wheel to much keep your hands on the side of steering wheels and then let go for wheel to straighten out you did grea. I don't like how close they put the pits and people's cars parked to the track where people are drifting someone could easily hit someone's car hit somebody in the pits that little yellow tape isn't stopping a carm and you need to soften them rear shocks or coil overs up less preload and a little more rebound or if it's the stock non adjustable coil overs you need new ones cause those are shot. And also pit the car on scales like we do with real oval track cars and you can use the ride height adjustment on your coilovers to set your left side percentages your crawls your rear bite and how much weight the car has on the right front left front right rear and left rear corners as well you can do a lot of set at work just with a set of racing scales and I know a lot of drift racers that use them and I've taught six drift racers that race at the local asphalt track on Sundays on how to use racing scales to set up their cars as well

so sick. I've been drifting in AC for years, and want to get into a beater drift missile so bad. Don't have a place to work on a car right now though since i live in a 4th floor apartment haha. I was looking at old e36's and 350z's recently... maybe some infiniti g35/g37s too. keeping my eyes peeled for something
deff lean towards a 350z they are literal tanks, G’s are cheaper to get but they are mechanically slower in drifting if im not mistaken

im 15 ive been drifting in asseto for 3 years and i have yet to drift in real life i have a 2000 c5 corvette which doesnt run and needs alot of work one day ill be doing the same hopefully next year when i get this car working
