It may be to hot for the scalp and I don’t why you will want to use but it is an antiseptic so why not. And you will have to drop a small quantity in water to do the job and not just applying it just like that.

Shining is a chemical that makes the gel have a shinny surface. Maybe you've noticed this shinny surface in some shower gel products. If you don't add....it is okay. One negative thing about it is that, if you add it and you do not stir it well, it will settle beneath your product.
