Found 3 STH Skylines in the same day!! Like most new collectors, I was obsessed. It only took 8 months to find my very first STH!! I watched videos like these to educate myself then I was able to identify them just by scanning the pegs. The obsession for STH's has worn off but now I am more focused on castings. Finding super is awesome but finding a jackpot case with a IDC, TH, and STH is such a great feeling I lucked out on a E 2020 case. My tip to find super is study the looks of the real riders wheels from premium car culture cars, that way you'll spot then faster instead of pulling out a phone and try check if you found one especially if there's a collector near you searching aswell.
Ziggy, I collect what I like. I like Porsche, Exotics, JDM, a lil' bit of everything. I collect most full real rider sets and collect box sets as well. I am trying to find every super this year so it is a big deal but not all I hunt. 😁👍

I been hunting supers on and off since 2009. It's pretty easy to spot the Supers from the regular casting. Nothing like finding a $uper in the wild. It doesn't happen everyday unless you're a scalper with friends hooking you up at Walmart, Dollarama etc. Hunt but keep it fun!

Gr8 vid the only thing I don't like is it gotten so many folks into the hunt making it harder to find but i do appreciate the vid it is a super cool feeling finding sth, th, zamac, or id I found my first ID plenty of reg th, but still no sth I could kill for tht audi or this year's iam prob gonna just custom my own but yea thing have been so slow here in Canada stores around are so dried up and if a box comes it's gone literally in a day I have gotten 2 matchbox supers but i am Euro 1st then say Asian American muscle always last so redwhiteblue corvette not my cup of tea but still cool I guess anyways just keep hunting oh also I just cut open a p case and it had a couple cars from like 2018 what's up with tht and what are ur thought on factory defects I always find them lol

4 years and haven't found any here in Poland (where I live), however I've heard rumours that the are many Audi RS2 sth finds here so it raised up my hopes
I once Hit up a dollar Store and When I mean the Hot wheels looked like heaven it was it was Probably Over 10 Cases on the racks and we left that store with so many Supers and Now that I think back about that long I bet I left so many I walked away with a Bunch or TH!
Its totally possible InJ Airgun! Ive gotten to a few Unicorn cases since uploading (check my G Case Super/GT500 find video). We call it a "unicorn case" when you find the super th, reg th, ID Chase, and mainline (of the super) all in the same case. Of course ID Chases only come every other case code, so technically it can be considered a unicorn case if its a non-ID case (see second datsun 510 super found video). 😁👊👍

I was vaguely collecting here in the UK for a couple of years,, but only by visiting 2 or 3 local shops plus supermarkets. Only once did I find TH cars, and actually two on one shop. But after checking online and seeing the huge numbers that were actually produced, I decided not to get involved and took them back to the shop. The manager was happy to let me chose two others in exchange after I explained what they were. Heh, he prolly kept the TH cars. HW is reltavely expensive in the UK, about 2.7 times the price at £1.99.
You need to go to the HotWheels Collectors website and purchase an RLC account, its $10 for a year. After that you can stay tuned for the RLC releases which happen on Tuesdays (not every Tuesday but that is the release day). You gotta be quick, they sell out in minutes in most cases. Hello, I’m 12 and have been collecting Hot wheel cars my whole life and never knew what super treasure hunt was but a few days ago I was going through my cars and I realized I had one that had rubber tires and I don’t know if it is a super treasure hunt because it is not in his case because the case was thrown away and you said that the rubber tires might be a sign and it has rubber tires so I don’t know if it’s one. The car is a McLaren P1 upside down on the back it says made in Thailand 1188MJ.1.NL 2016 MATTEL CFH20.Thank you!

If it has rubber tires, metal base, and is orange...then that will be from the Cars & Donuts set! To my knowledge, that is the only premium McLaren P1 produced. 😁👊

The ID Chases are MUCH more common than that od Supers but lately hard to find. J Case BoneShaker and up have been tough because theyre good. I have yet to find the Aston ID. 😑

Its really tough, between case distribution , other collectors, case crackers, inside jobs, and folks who have much more free time than you, its just really hard to find em.

I understand they are really cool to alot of people and fun to hunt for supers etc and HW been around a for a long time....The only thing that I like about hot wheels or matchboxes is their CHEAP PRICES... Nothing else. They are roughly detailed(even the premiums), weirdly scaled cartoon looking cars(fantasy designs and ones that are supposed to be actual existing cars)...Also the fact that you can find HWs in dollar stores tells you something... However, I'll give it to them, they are sturdy products that you could throw around.... I GENUINELY WANT TO KNOW WHAT PEOPLE LOVE ABOUT HWs THAT KEEPS PEOPLE LOVING THESE AND COLLECTING THEM? -Cheers
I hear ya Timur! They aren't for everyone but they are for many of us! I think half of it is just the thrill of the hunt, being able to walk into a store and find what you want and maybe even find a chase! The great thing about imperfections on HW's and cheaper castings, is that if you're a customizer it gives you work to improve on and stuff to fix. If you're just a collector I can see why it may not be pleasing and one may opt to collect another scale or a better quality 1:64. To give credit though, HW castings have come a LONG way in the past 10 years quality and scale wise and the trajectory is pointing towards better to come. 😁👍

They are very wanted by many people especially children and also the fact that they are small and portable and the fact that some are very cool and others can be used for unique things (I'm looking at you, Experimotors)
Hello, tx for the great detailed video. So i went to look at some big grocery shops, and found there to be only HotWheels in 5-10-20 car packs only. It was rather hard to find individually sold HotWheels. So I wonder, do the Treasure or Super TH series only come into the individual packed ones? I went through many that came per 5 cars sets or higher and coudnt fint anything special in between. So therefore the question, is TH or STH cars reserved for individual packaged HotWheels? hi, i've started collecting recently and i usually just go for the cars i like, but still i'd love to find one or two STH. the catch, though, is that i live in spain and i don't know the way these boxes work so it's difficult. do you reccomend shopping malls, regular chain stores or particular stores? thanks!

So Im not sure of the store chains in Spain but if I was visiting (or if I moved to Spain), I would be checking everywhere that carries HotWheels and diecast cars and begin learning their stocking days and times. Also to gain knowledge of how frequent the stores stock, ones that dont stock but once a month or so I would probably weed out and save as back ups. I would be focusing on the frequent stockers there, and I'm talking retail stores and chains. Grocery stores as well, there are many here that stock HotWheels and Matchbox so im sure there should be some in your area. Hope that helps! 👊😁👍

Definitely sounds like an older TH to me, one Im unfamiliar with though. If it has spectraflame/shiney paint and rubber tired it is a super treasure hunt. Plastic wheels then regular treasure hunt. Supers are more rare than regular TH's. Wish I could help more but Im unfamiliar with that TH. 😁👍
Are you saying there's a Treasure Hunt in every single case? And that case will have either a Regular Treasure Hunt or a Super Treasure Hunt? Do regular Treasure Hunts have TH on the car too?
They do infact have the TH insignia somewhere on the car, as well as a silver TH stamp on the card behind the actual car in the package. So nearly every US case will have a regular TH in it with the exception of the exclusive cases (Target Reds, Zamacs, Kroger, Dollar General, etc...). In those cases you will probably see them but you may not. Then you have the oddball US case that does not have one, but most will have a regular TH. Most international cases will as well, though finding no regular TH in those cases is not exactly suprising. In all US case examples, you can mostly expect to find a regular TH as well as the case specific mainline OR Super TH car. In some cases, you will find a regular TH, a super TH, AND the mainline of the Super TH and we call those "unicorn cases". In 2020 and 2021, a unicorn case was the super TH, the mainline of the Super TH, a regular TH, and the ID Chase. ID chases however are not available or offered anymore by Mattel. I've actually held several TH cars not knowing they were and passed them up. I basically just buy what I think looks cool even though some of the color choices for these Batman cars aren't exactly what you think of when you think of Batman. (Especially the current 2/5 Hunter Green & Brown versions) lol

Mattel has not released an official number since 1997, but the guesstimation with growth the first 3 years is anywhere between 150,000 - 200,000 per super. Sounds like a lot, but consider that each mainline is produced in the millions and that roughly 1000 of those are reserved for the RLC Super THunt Sets at the end of year. Also factor in sharp rise in factory theft. Theres a reason you see supers on the market that wont be out for another month or two and thats the reason. 😉👊
That'll be an international card, Patrik! International is a bit tough to decipher because of the serial number they use. Unfortunately, you'll have to become familiar with US cases to get an idea of what case you're looking at for international card. However I can tell you now that if you have the light blue Sesto Elemento, it is from 2020 J Case/K Case carry-over. 👊😁👍
Nope, Super Treasure Hunts come in mainline cases so you pay what the respective store is charging for mainlines! Typically anywhere from $.94 - $1.69! 👊😁👍
Puello, its not based on month. The letter will tell you what cars to expect in the case, thats about it. Some years the cases come earlier and some they come later. Sometimes we see A Case in November and sometimes we see it in late December/Early January. 😉👊
They indeed do, QAYBEE! They seem to be harder to find in International Cases vs US cases though. Possibly due to the factory theft and early scalping sales on them, which is my guess. I have probably found 45-50 supers in my 3 year hunting career. Out of all of those, I have only found 5 international card supers. Then again, not many stores stock international cards besides various grocery stores. 🤔
Hey Bruce, there are 15 cases per year (A-Q, no I and no O). Thats how the yearly releases are broken up. So by knowing which case you're looking at, you know which cars to look for. I did make a Super Treasure Hunt Guide that goes over case identification a bit. Maybe check that out when you get a chance? Hope this helps! 😁👊
You cannot purchase full sealed cases from retail stores, but the only place I would recommend buying sealed cases from that is trust worthy is A&J Toys! You can buy them individually in US Card, International Card, or International Short Cards. You can also pay a $1 subscription which A&J will run your card automatically when new cases come in and they will be automatically sent out. A lot of channels that feature unboxings do this and honestly, its the way to go if you dont mind a full case! 😉😁👊
One of the good things about US cases is you can identify what case it is by looking at the back. For international cases I have to guess by looking what’s left on the peg, and a bit of googling during the peg hunting. It would be so much more convenient if the international cases can have that little letter follow up at the back of the card🤣
Yes it would, I don't know why Mattel doesn't carry over the case identification to all international cases. Certainly would make things a lot easier. 🤔
Pro tip for me : instead of Googling during the hunt (which is bad because that way you are giving the competition a chance of stealing something from you and also takes time when you should be fast) look through all the cars and look at the tires and paint, when I found my only super I even looked at the artwork too just in case, because the wheels alone are the clearest giveaway of the car, and check the TH on the car and the gold flame symbol beneath the car on the actual card. Most of the times I Google the case after to see if I missed on anything or to know if someone was already there before and took something I wanted.
@@whocares2465 Thanks for the tip, but that was 2 months ago and now I already remember all the TH and STH in 2021 cases. Now based on what’s left on the peg I will know what case it is instantly, like if there are all the fantasies then no need for me to dig through. But if new stock come in I just need to check the TH or STH model then I will know what case it is, because the STH model (the normal version) will be repeated in the next case, say there are lots of HKS civic on peg, then it must be the L case. Similarly, recently I saw heaps of Mercury Cougar on peg but only a few Audi R8, then it must be the M case.
For each case how many cars? Just one specific car is designated the super and one specific car is designated the Reg TH. As far as total production numbers for each, there is no official number released by Mattel but the guesstimate is well north of 100,000.

In England it’s much rarer to encounter anything which is not a mainline I found a TH Pacifica a month ago was very happy finding it In England it’s near impossible to get any Premium or ID cars in stores it’s so anoying

Super Treasure Hunts will usually almost always increase in value over time. How much is determined by the demand and the availability of them. I always encourage folks to hunt and collect super treasure hunts for the fun and passion of it. The value will come naturally, just enjoy collecting and hunting them! 👊😁👍
Anyone from outside the US? Apparently it's impossible to find them... word is that they are already taken before hitting the pegs. Still I wonder how popular is this in south america and if it's really the case

Usually its a "wave" but even then there's variables. Especially this year wirh Covid. Like Kroger for instance right now in Arizona, J Case shippers and Kroger exclusives hitting the Marketplaces but not the smaller Frys. Walmarts Ive found G Bins, H Bins, and J Bins all in the past two weeks. Target had the L and M case bins with Reds but now I just found J Case at Target recently. Distribution is just a bit all over the place now. When these shipper displays start dropping at stores, people will post what they're finding and that'll give an idea. But as of recent its just been super inconsistent.
I just memorize what I have to the best of my ability. When new mains drop, I catch up on those as quick as I can so I can focus on the next cases being dropped when they hit. As far as real riders, I try to grab the new sets as soon as they drop so again, I can focus on the new sets on the way. Just makes it a lot easier to grab em and get em done ya know? Thats the reason I hunt for Supers A LOT is because Ive already caught up on everything dropped already. 😁👊
Regular TH's are pretty easy, especially if you know what it is in the case. If you don't, just look for the silver/grey stamp on the card and the TH logo somewhere on the car. 😁👊

I once Hit up a dollar Store and When I mean the Hot wheels looked like heaven it was it was Probably Over 10 Cases on the racks and we left that store with so many Supers and Now that I think back about that long I bet I left so many I walked away with a Bunch or TH!
I watched one case unboxing and I don't know if he stacked the case prior to opening it, but he got the regular the super AND the ID in one case!
Its totally possible InJ Airgun! Ive gotten to a few Unicorn cases since uploading (check my G Case Super/GT500 find video). We call it a "unicorn case" when you find the super th, reg th, ID Chase, and mainline (of the super) all in the same case. Of course ID Chases only come every other case code, so technically it can be considered a unicorn case if its a non-ID case (see second datsun 510 super found video). 😁👊👍

I was vaguely collecting here in the UK for a couple of years,, but only by visiting 2 or 3 local shops plus supermarkets. Only once did I find TH cars, and actually two on one shop. But after checking online and seeing the huge numbers that were actually produced, I decided not to get involved and took them back to the shop. The manager was happy to let me chose two others in exchange after I explained what they were. Heh, he prolly kept the TH cars. HW is reltavely expensive in the UK, about 2.7 times the price at £1.99.

You need to go to the HotWheels Collectors website and purchase an RLC account, its $10 for a year. After that you can stay tuned for the RLC releases which happen on Tuesdays (not every Tuesday but that is the release day). You gotta be quick, they sell out in minutes in most cases. Hello, I’m 12 and have been collecting Hot wheel cars my whole life and never knew what super treasure hunt was but a few days ago I was going through my cars and I realized I had one that had rubber tires and I don’t know if it is a super treasure hunt because it is not in his case because the case was thrown away and you said that the rubber tires might be a sign and it has rubber tires so I don’t know if it’s one. The car is a McLaren P1 upside down on the back it says made in Thailand 1188MJ.1.NL 2016 MATTEL CFH20.Thank you!

Are the supers always sports cars & muscle cars, or do they ever do something like a super garbage truck or utility vehicle?
I don't remember any of those in recent memory, but they have done a few fantasy supers in the past 4 years.

The ID Chases are MUCH more common than that od Supers but lately hard to find. J Case BoneShaker and up have been tough because theyre good. I have yet to find the Aston ID. 😑

I understand they are really cool to alot of people and fun to hunt for supers etc and HW been around a for a long time....The only thing that I like about hot wheels or matchboxes is their CHEAP PRICES... Nothing else. They are roughly detailed(even the premiums), weirdly scaled cartoon looking cars(fantasy designs and ones that are supposed to be actual existing cars)...Also the fact that you can find HWs in dollar stores tells you something... However, I'll give it to them, they are sturdy products that you could throw around....

I hear ya Timur! They aren't for everyone but they are for many of us! I think half of it is just the thrill of the hunt, being able to walk into a store and find what you want and maybe even find a chase! The great thing about imperfections on HW's and cheaper castings, is that if you're a customizer it gives you work to improve on and stuff to fix. If you're just a collector I can see why it may not be pleasing and one may opt to collect another scale or a better quality 1:64. To give credit though, HW castings have come a LONG way in the past 10 years quality and scale wise and the trajectory is pointing towards better to come. 😁👍

Hello, tx for the great detailed video. So i went to look at some big grocery shops, and found there to be only HotWheels in 5-10-20 car packs only. It was rather hard to find individually sold HotWheels. So I wonder, do the Treasure or Super TH series only come into the individual packed ones? I went through many that came per 5 cars sets or higher and coudnt fint anything special in between. So therefore the question, is TH or STH cars reserved for individual packaged HotWheels? Thank You.
Matthias, unfortunately as a rule of thumb they do. HOWEVER....some have found supers in 9 and 20 packs! 🤯👊

So Im not sure of the store chains in Spain but if I was visiting (or if I moved to Spain), I would be checking everywhere that carries HotWheels and diecast cars and begin learning their stocking days and times. Also to gain knowledge of how frequent the stores stock, ones that dont stock but once a month or so I would probably weed out and save as back ups. I would be focusing on the frequent stockers there, and I'm talking retail stores and chains. Grocery stores as well, there are many here that stock HotWheels and Matchbox so im sure there should be some in your area. Hope that helps! 👊😁👍

Definitely sounds like an older TH to me, one Im unfamiliar with though. If it has spectraflame/shiney paint and rubber tired it is a super treasure hunt. Plastic wheels then regular treasure hunt. Supers are more rare than regular TH's. Wish I could help more but Im unfamiliar with that TH. 😁👍

Are you saying there's a Treasure Hunt in every single case? And that case will have either a Regular Treasure Hunt or a Super Treasure Hunt?
Do regular Treasure Hunts have TH on the car too?
They do infact have the TH insignia somewhere on the car, as well as a silver TH stamp on the card behind the actual car in the package.
So nearly every US case will have a regular TH in it with the exception of the exclusive cases (Target Reds, Zamacs, Kroger, Dollar General, etc...). In those cases you will probably see them but you may not. Then you have the oddball US case that does not have one, but most will have a regular TH. Most international cases will as well, though finding no regular TH in those cases is not exactly suprising. In all US case examples, you can mostly expect to find a regular TH as well as the case specific mainline OR Super TH car. In some cases, you will find a regular TH, a super TH, AND the mainline of the Super TH and we call those "unicorn cases". In 2020 and 2021, a unicorn case was the super TH, the mainline of the Super TH, a regular TH, and the ID Chase. ID chases however are not available or offered anymore by Mattel.

I've actually held several TH cars not knowing they were and passed them up. I basically just buy what I think looks cool even though some of the color choices for these Batman cars aren't exactly what you think of when you think of Batman.

Do we know how many supers are being produced for every mix?
Mattel has not released an official number since 1997, but the guesstimation with growth the first 3 years is anywhere between 150,000 - 200,000 per super. Sounds like a lot, but consider that each mainline is produced in the millions and that roughly 1000 of those are reserved for the RLC Super THunt Sets at the end of year.
Also factor in sharp rise in factory theft. Theres a reason you see supers on the market that wont be out for another month or two and thats the reason. 😉👊

That'll be an international card, Patrik! International is a bit tough to decipher because of the serial number they use. Unfortunately, you'll have to become familiar with US cases to get an idea of what case you're looking at for international card. However I can tell you now that if you have the light blue Sesto Elemento, it is from 2020 J Case/K Case carry-over. 👊😁👍

Nope, Super Treasure Hunts come in mainline cases so you pay what the respective store is charging for mainlines! Typically anywhere from $.94 - $1.69! 👊😁👍

Puello, its not based on month. The letter will tell you what cars to expect in the case, thats about it. Some years the cases come earlier and some they come later. Sometimes we see A Case in November and sometimes we see it in late December/Early January. 😉👊

They indeed do, QAYBEE! They seem to be harder to find in International Cases vs US cases though. Possibly due to the factory theft and early scalping sales on them, which is my guess. I have probably found 45-50 supers in my 3 year hunting career. Out of all of those, I have only found 5 international card supers. Then again, not many stores stock international cards besides various grocery stores. 🤔

Hey Bruce, there are 15 cases per year (A-Q, no I and no O). Thats how the yearly releases are broken up. So by knowing which case you're looking at, you know which cars to look for. I did make a Super Treasure Hunt Guide that goes over case identification a bit. Maybe check that out when you get a chance?

You cannot purchase full sealed cases from retail stores, but the only place I would recommend buying sealed cases from that is trust worthy is A&J Toys! You can buy them individually in US Card, International Card, or International Short Cards. You can also pay a $1 subscription which A&J will run your card automatically when new cases come in and they will be automatically sent out. A lot of channels that feature unboxings do this and honestly, its the way to go if you dont mind a full case! 😉😁👊

I found 2 STH and 2TH in five days just by randomly looking when i go out shopping
One of the good things about US cases is you can identify what case it is by looking at the back. For international cases I have to guess by looking what’s left on the peg, and a bit of googling during the peg hunting. It would be so much more convenient if the international cases can have that little letter follow up at the back of the card🤣
Yes it would, I don't know why Mattel doesn't carry over the case identification to all international cases. Certainly would make things a lot easier. 🤔
Pro tip for me : instead of Googling during the hunt (which is bad because that way you are giving the competition a chance of stealing something from you and also takes time when you should be fast) look through all the cars and look at the tires and paint, when I found my only super I even looked at the artwork too just in case, because the wheels alone are the clearest giveaway of the car, and check the TH on the car and the gold flame symbol beneath the car on the actual card. Most of the times I Google the case after to see if I missed on anything or to know if someone was already there before and took something I wanted.
@@whocares2465 Thanks for the tip, but that was 2 months ago and now I already remember all the TH and STH in 2021 cases. Now based on what’s left on the peg I will know what case it is instantly, like if there are all the fantasies then no need for me to dig through. But if new stock come in I just need to check the TH or STH model then I will know what case it is, because the STH model (the normal version) will be repeated in the next case, say there are lots of HKS civic on peg, then it must be the L case. Similarly, recently I saw heaps of Mercury Cougar on peg but only a few Audi R8, then it must be the M case.

For each case how many cars? Just one specific car is designated the super and one specific car is designated the Reg TH. As far as total production numbers for each, there is no official number released by Mattel but the guesstimate is well north of 100,000.

Super Treasure Hunts will usually almost always increase in value over time. How much is determined by the demand and the availability of them.

Usually its a "wave" but even then there's variables. Especially this year wirh Covid. Like Kroger for instance right now in Arizona, J Case shippers and Kroger exclusives hitting the Marketplaces but not the smaller Frys. Walmarts Ive found G Bins, H Bins, and J Bins all in the past two weeks. Target had the L and M case bins with Reds but now I just found J Case at Target recently. Distribution is just a bit all over the place now. When these shipper displays start dropping at stores, people will post what they're finding and that'll give an idea. But as of recent its just been super inconsistent.

I just memorize what I have to the best of my ability. When new mains drop, I catch up on those as quick as I can so I can focus on the next cases being dropped when they hit. As far as real riders, I try to grab the new sets as soon as they drop so again, I can focus on the new sets on the way. Just makes it a lot easier to grab em and get em done ya know? Thats the reason I hunt for Supers A LOT is because Ive already caught up on everything dropped already. 😁👊

Regular TH's are pretty easy, especially if you know what it is in the case. If you don't, just look for the silver/grey stamp on the card and the TH logo somewhere on the car. 😁👊
