Nice video man. Would you please tell me how to enable the beeping or the light on front to make a sound or turn on when video recording is on and off? This is SUPER FRUSTRATING to not know via just the camera indications. Is there a way? Thank you.
Have you updated your Z6II to firmware 1.60? It now has Red Record Frame Indicator on the screen. Can’t miss anymore if it’s recording or not. Great feature.
@@TouchLifeStudio I have but when I have it on a tripod 5 ft away filming me for UA-cam videos I cannot see it. My Fuji does have a record or picture taking tally light that illuminates when doing so.
@@mattcero1. Another solution is to use an external monitor, which I do and or connect your phone via SnapBridge. Both of these options will provide you with instant feedback that you hit the Rec button. Hope this helps.
@@TouchLifeStudioDude, you're talkin' out your ass! I purchased the Viltrox 550 Pro a week ago to solve things and found the Z6 ii DOES NOT send HDMI dirty information, just clean to the external monitor. And clean DOES NOT tell me if recording is happening or not! The Snap Bridge APP sucks as most will tell you as you have to resync' bluetooth and WiFi before every shoot. Any other suggestions besides the genius engineers at Nikon fix this and allow for the tally light on the front corner of the camera to have the ability to signal recording is happening and perhaps include the camera beeper as well???!!! COME ON MAN!
I disagree. The app totally sucks and the remote controls totally suck as they both rely too heavily on Wi-Fi and bluetooth. And every time you shut your camera off and turn it back on you have to repair the remote control and the app. I have the Z6 ii with the latest firmware and the engineers still don't have enough brains to enable the tally light on the front of the camera to enable a UA-camr or someone doing a selfie to activate the light when recording or a picture is being taken. At a minimum allow two beeps to happen when recording is on and one beep to happen when recording is off
I heard that one can change the metadata as you suggested. Lightroom updated the support for Nikon z6II raw files. But thanks for the tip. nikonrumors.com/2020/12/08/adobe-december-2020-release-includes-nikon-z6ii-and-z7ii-raw-files-support.aspx/
haw to set Z6II how to set the display histogram for exposure and sound monitoring to see the volume and battery level I tried and I don't succeed, if I press the display button or I have a hystogram but I can't see the sound volume and vice versa
It sounds like you are asking this for video settings. I don't think Nikon offers the option of histogram in video mode. However, if you are looking to display overexposed area, you can use the "g6" option for Highlight Display.
Hi, I have recently bought the new Z6II but I am having a bit problem with autofocus...when I select subject tracking, select the subject it keep tracking the subject but if I move closer or farther away it loses focus and it not even try to get into focus again only if i push the shooting button the half through it finds the focus. Am i doing something wrong? It more bothers me when shooting video because it is then totally useless...thanks for an advice
Hi, good question. So, in the photo mode, it is normal that once the subject tracking is engaged, if the person moves (or you move), subject tracking keep following but the focus is not adjusting. What you need to do is to keep your thumb on the AF-ON button and Focus Mode on Continues AF. This way the subject tracking has autofocus engaged at all time. For video mode - you need to change the Focus Mode to AF-F (full time AF). This should fix your problem. Good luck!
Let me guys know if you have a different way in how you set up your Nikon Z series camera.

The Nikon Z Series system is just the best.
absolutely support that

I was hoping that you would show how to use the buttons on the front. I would like to use one to switch from SAF to CAF.
Cheers shall give these a go with mine 👍 I used exiftool and changed the data to z6 on my raw files they then worked fine in capture one

Low light option turn off for best focus
Do you think its posable to use focus point on the screen when using the viewfinder ?
I believe the screen gets disabled when using the electronic view finder.
Camera Raw 13.1 is available for some time (= Lightroom 10.1) and it opens Z-ii files.
Great job, thank you for sharing!
