- I'm mixing it up for a change! No white blonde root smudge for this video, this client wanted a warm toned, natural looking blonde and thats what we gave her!
FORMULA:
goldwell oxycur
20 volume
goldwell colorance 3/4 7G, 1/4 7N
shades eq 8V to pre tone root
shades eq 8N on the roots, pulled down through the ends the last 3 minutes
shades eq 7NW/7NB/8GI on the ends for 5 minutes

Platinum blonde look better in girls with cool undertone (pink skin) and warms honey blonde looks better with warm undertone (yellow/orange skin)

Completely agree! The silver/ashy blonde makes certain skin tones look sallow, ill, and washed-out. A little balanced warmth in blonde looks so much prettier and healthier, in my opinion.

Yes!!! I know this video is a few years old, but I am soooo over every - single - blonde wanting the icy, silver/white blonde. That tone is not flattering on all skin tones, and it's nice to see a more "natural," slightly warmer blonde here. I'm actually getting this tone of highlights this weekend and am so excited! Nice work here! :)

That’s too funny:: my hair dresser used to push that color on me. I wanted warmer. She was such a pain about it that I left. I love the honey colors and my color is naturally blonde with reddish tint. Strawberry blonde.

Yes, most youtube videos about blonde hair are all about toning "brassy", yellow / orange hair to get cool tones, when for some of us, the warm tones actually suit us better... The blonde shade here actually looks quite cool to me, too, but at least it's not overly ashy ;)

Blonde dimensions from redken gives an absolute beautiful (golden) warm tone as well. It's their weakest bleach and makes beautiful gold tones.

Most (well, nearly all) youtube videos about blonde hair are all about toning down "brassy", yellow / orange hair to get cool tones, when for some of us, the warm tones actually suit us better! The blonde shade here actually looks a bit on the cool side to me too, but at least it's not overly ashy or platinum ;)
I feel the exact same way about shades eq. any new girl at the salon we train when I tell them about shades eq I feel i sound like I'm sponsored by them or something 😂

nice. I personally prefer warm blondes. Have you ever used joico lumishine demi's or any of their lighteners? If so what is your opinion on how they compare to shades eq?
For the part line itself do you take a little from the top of each side of the part to make one section along the part line that you put in a foil or do you take the top of each side of the part and put them each in their own foils back to back? I’m trying to envision how to do the horizontals up the side and how they meet at where the client parts

Why did her hair look med brown before the extensions? I did not see a warm honey blonde prior to that.
I took a Redken class just a few weeks ago & the educator was telling us that she only tones with shades EQ on dry hair & she processes for the full 20 minutes! It blew my mind because I was thinking 09V on dry hair for 20 minutes would be a hot purple mess, but she said that it has direct dyes in it, so that's why it grabs purple on wet hair at times! It also lasts a lot longer & gets more shine then if you tone on wet hair at the bowl. Blew my mind! But I did try it on a level 9, very gold hair, used 1 oz. 09V & 1/2 oz. of clear plus equal parts of processing solution & it was soooo pretty! You should try it & let me know what you think!

That is the proper way to do that, however i would say most stylists tone at the shampoo bowl on towel dried hair. Who has time to schedule extra time for the toning process?
I tone on super towel dried at bowl, but just the root tap. I usually tone on the mostly all the way dried for just that 09V grab at ends. I always thought reverse, that wet was "evening out porosity" but I will almost always see a violet grab (some of my clients have wanted that, but I freak out) so I tone with 09GB, 09P, 09V with a smidge of Crystal clear on those level 9 10 blondes and omg...So pretty! Love Shades,EQ!

I always thought Goldwell colorance was used for toning on damp hair. I never knew you could use as low light on dry hair. Interesting.
I’m a bit disappointed with this video because it’s near impossible to find videos on redken formulas for golden blonde. With out the end filters on final picture her hair looks flat and cool. Even the extension where more golden than end hair. It’s because in my experience after first layer of toner goes on it’s been almost impossible to tone through it. 8n & 8v are very cool and flat. Why not use 8gi and a bit of 7nw 7 pearl for root then 8gi /pinch 8n with a touch of 7p

@@josephmccarthy3498 I find when you lift the hair up to a yellow even with a very slight bit of orange then tone with redken shades eq 9nw and maybe evebn a smidge of 9P it produces a nice Honey blonde

I've seen other colorists say to never color directly on the hairline because those are baby hairs that can look sparse or damaged and break easily from the bleach. I notice you always do the very end of the hairline. Would you say it just depends on the texture or porosity of the hair?

What u did with the SEQ I really want to know why u had 3 sessions I understand the 8N was root tapping and then combed thru, then the rest of the 8N was smoothed thru the ends the a global wash with the NW mixes. Idk. Ohhhh I found it 8V was first so she fades to pretty blonde, then the root tap, then global NW, Gi mixed okay. Girl u did that!

Cynthia Lopresti The 08N at root is so magical. It is almost prism in that it's neutral but can look cool or warm. I have used the 09G and 09Gi too. Shades EQ is ALMOST idiot proof.

What’s an olaplex treatment? I thought that had to be added to hair color?
The treatment helps your hair not get damaged Step 1 is added to color Step 2 is done after they wash your bleach off like a mask to set everything in place.
Steps 3-7 are take home treatment that anyone can purchase to help nurse the hair back to health

Jessi Gish Jess. I have watched every video you have ever made. I adore you. I want to do this color but one shade up..my roots are pretty white but rest natural level 7 , with some hiighlites. More on top then bottom. Question. Best base color. Like more warm, then toner redken but one step up. I love this color on this video but it's hard to see the actual color in the end. Also what products do you use to flowery and style hence could you Recommend a recipe
