he did, not long after voicing Ahab, too. it's sad, but im glad he got to have his own character and his own quest before he passed.
Yeah, and it's awesome to see him bravely helping defend his village. Much respect.
he also got the first ever Ashes of A'lar from Blizz :)
I am surprised there are players that don't know that NPC :O you can do his little quest as alliance aswell

Now the Tauren in opposite to Gnomes are my favorite race. They are just the embodiement of wisdom. So whole some, So cool. And the Cairne part grabbed me by the heart.
Krychomir I remember choosing them when I started because of their size, now I love them more for their lore and culture 😁

Hoping to see him in SL, there could be cool interactions bewteen him and Baine.
There could also be things to do with Thrall. When the two friends met for the last time, there was a lot of tension...
@@diegochatard-caraballo5848 Agreed Cairne getting some time to interact with his son and his brother Thrall would be nice.
Sun rock retreat became useless since the Cataclysm revamp because there isn't any quest to pick up in that place. It's nice to see it useful even for a short time, I spent a lot of time leveling in that part with my 1st character
It's the perfect place to fly into if you're doing lower-level pet tamer quests for levelling pets and self. Avoids the Alliance camp and other hostiles, and the tamer is just down the road near the spiders. It's one of my favourite Tauren settlements, something about how it looks.
I just wanna say that your the reason I discovered the lore of the game as well as the books, thank you Nobbel love everything you do

@@AsprosOfAzeroth Can you? Did he move? As far as I knew he was out of the way of most alliance players in the tauren starting zone, and couldn't be talked to by alliance players. Plus his quest involved going to bloodhoof village I recall.

The quest chain was pretty o.k. Having spent a lot of time playing Tauren back in vanilla, it's nice to see this.
Would have been sweet if they got a totem weapon mog or something. People have been wanting that ever since the original cinematic

can you transmog separate pieces of the armor or is it a all in one set? the totem looks amazing and I love the feather pieces to add them to my current transmog
Like the Blood Elf set, you can mog a piece at a time.
It's kinda sad that we don't get to wield a totem pole but it's whatever

No we don't need or want a little pussy allied with the opposing faction to be leading the Horde, we need a WARCHIEF like Kublai Khan or Genghis Khan not a PEACECHIEF
As a tauren myself this quest made me so happy
Good questline, I like the touch of Baine's parents in it. I do like the new evil spirit models. Hey Nobbel I have a question for you. Have you heard anything about Azshara's Eternal Palace raid in 8.2?

Do you need to make a new tauren and lvl them to 110? I have a couple of 120s and neither can do the quest.

Looks like they forgot their own lore again. What the quest should reward is Heritage of the Shu'halo. Taur-ahe is the name of the language, shu'halo is the name of the tauren in taur-ahe.
Hope you reported that as a bug.
This seems like it barely scratches the surface of tauren heritage, its just kinda like, hey ancestor worship is a thing right?
There's so much more they could have explored.
They got more than the gnomes did.The armor sets are cool but the quests are pretty lackluster.The belf questline is the only acception to me.
@@thebigidea9659 yeah the belf one felt very tailored to their history, this tauren one feels like orcs or trolls could do it without it really feeling out of place.

This quest must take place after we free Baine from prison, which suggests it's the first part of the 8.2 war campaign. I was expecting Sylvanas to attack Thunder Bluff in retaliation, but instead we get evil spirits crossing into the mortal world. These spirits look like the same we encountered during the Vol'jin questline, which raises more questions: Are they the ones who whispered to Vol'jin, and if so, why would they want Sylvanas to rule the Horde? And why would they attack the tauren?
The Tauren: The one reason my very first character was Horde. Heck, once they got Paladins as WELL as Shaman, it was almost the reason I came back to play WoW.
Tauren have had shaman since Vanilla launched
@@devincampbell5007 I meant Paladin in addition to Shaman....and Druid. I've just always loved the Tauren race. I do so Love the Draenei too though.

What confuses me the most here Is the timeline, being a lord nerd Baine Is suppose to be hiding In 8.2 after he gets rescued from Orgrimmar. I kinda wish he just came back to Thunder Bluff all chill like nothing happened and just be like "Hey Sylvanas, you want me? Come get me" just to show he grown some balls after he learnt that there must be balance, and Sylvanas, is disrupting that balance.

Jeremy Feasel did elude to the fact that you would have to finish the part of the War Campaign where you break Baine out before you can do the Tauren heritage armor quest.
Did they take the quest line out because i did the war campaigne to save Baine but I haven't come across the heritage armor quest line for taurens?

I'm exalted with thunderbluff but the quest isnt showing outside the horde embassy
Did you level to 120 or boost? Doesn’t work if you don’t lvl the character
@@ethankrueger1915 That's only for Allied races. Normal races just need to be 120 (can be boosted) and exalted with their home faction, Tauren specifically need to finish the war campaign and free Baine aswell.

Do you have to be a regular tauren to get the armor or can you also be a highmountain to get the armor?
Regular Tauren, HM Tauren already have a heritage set of their own

Ahab is also an ancestor for lunar festival.
Dammit I was hoping Nobbel would have an answer as to when in the narrative this quest happens, vis-a-vis Baine being chained up.
It's probably supposed to be after freeing him. It's the only logical explanation 🤔
Given it's going to be around for a while after BfA passes on, it can't be too fixed in time for the new Tauren hitting 120. (110?)

@@TerryLestrange Ooow uhm make sure to be on a tauren that's exalted with the tauren. If that doesn't work, it might have been removed from the ptr
@@Nobbel87 I am. And I just read you also need to do a specific war campaign quest. This Tauren was just dinged 120 so I've done nothing on the war campaign. I hope I don't need to grind all over again.. Thanks for your fast replies.

Anyone else want Hero classes to get heritage armor too? Like I get there like just for races not classes but say you have a blood elf DK your heritage set won't look fell right.

Would have liked to have that totem as a back item instead of being part of the chest. Also would have liked to see some hint to that "Azeroth is the Earthmother" idea from the Baine/Jaina cinematic, but I guess they want these heritage armour quests to be more expansion-neutral, so people can do them in the future without a bunch of BfA plot in them?
Still, though. As a tauren player since the moment I started playing, second day after Vanilla release... this questline seemed a little bland, to me. Can't say I'm happy. Also, I think An'she is supposed to be male? The text referred to An'she as "she" once. Pretty sure that's a mistake, but it's not like there's a lot of An'she material.

@@illidan124825634 You can see in the video that he's got his cloak on as well as the totem, so evidently the totem isn't the back item. That's how it works on wowhead's model viewer, too.
