I think the reason why they showed it only at the start is to reflect on how influential GT was to people, some of them even made race drivers (much like Jimmy Broadbent who's highly involved with GT AND races in real life), if they focused more screen time on the games itself I feel like it would've just turned into one of those official GT tournaments lol
It definitely was one of the video game movies of all time
It definitely is ONE of them lol
Its kinda not a Video game movie
This movie has an antagonist (if you can call it like that, I suppose) and that's not a GT guy in Minolta? Disappointed.
Weird how Gran Turismo and Twisted Metal, both 90s Playstation vehicular game series, had on-screen adaptations released in mid-2023. Weirder still that Twisted Metal ended up being a lot better both on its own and as far as encapsulating its source material.
The movie knows what it wants to be and it does it VERY well
That's why I like it at least
Its interesting to see the different perspectives between the GT youtubers and the garage youtubers
Gt people seem to notice a lack of "game" content in the movie while garage people think this movie has the most racing content theyve ever seen (small hyperbole based on thatdudeinblue's video)
I also didnt expect this movie to be anything decent, yet they seem to have appeased both audiences
Anyway, solid review. Itd always great to hear your beautiful voice dustin 👁👅👁
I'm coincidentally in the middle. Like, a medium-high car guy and a medium-high gamer. So i'm expecting a nice balance. Enough gaming to give context but not make it a GT tournament like one of the comments have pointed out
Loved how the romance part was also great part of the story of Gran Turismo XDDDD.
I loved the racing scenes. They were pretty good filmed. It was great. They really, really put the work on those races scenes. Sound, photographic, angles. The crew assigned to filming the races really, really carried damn hard. I'm so impressed by the crew who work there
After I watch Fast X, I wanna watch this movie now
I went to the cinema yesterday, and I did not like the movie.
I agree with Dustin on the racing scenes, they were okay, as well as the sound design, but everything around felt a bit cheap, or even cringe. And there's not much about Gran Turismo, honestly. It's more about the GT Academy, which I don't care much about in the first place.
I do like the car appearing in the movie though, you can spot some cool cars at various moment of the movie, especially in the first half. But then it's just a detail and doesn't help the movie getting better whatsoever.
I did not have big expectation for this movie (I was not very motivated to go see it in the first place) but I regret buying over 10€ for my ticket. I prefered Rush, or Le Mans 66. They were better movies imo.
It actually sounds kinda fun tho, the GT movie being it's own little thing, and isn't trying to much to push elements of the game into the movie without context, like the many other videogame movie adaptations tend to do ( RE inmediately comes to mind ) ( really appreciate the review to be ass spoiler free as possible btw : P )
Also the movie review was alot of fun so if the NFS movie ever makes it to the binge list, review time👀
Went to cinema to see it yesterday. I definitely enjoyed it, awesome CGI, the racing scenes were really intense and the acting was decent. It wasn't anything too special, but I think they did a good job overall
My dad never believed in the notion that it was ever possible to go racing in motorsport by playing racing games. And when i told him about this, he completely ignored it. When i heard the Gran Turismo movie was being released this year. I took him to watch the movie just to prove to him that what i said to him is actually possible and happening. His response was the movie direction and depiction was really good. The movie is good.
The pace car should've made a cameo
I would want to add too that my critism is that the events, at leaat in terms of the racing wasnt played in ordered of Jane's career. I get it flowed better with build up of the movie but it still doesnt make sense to see the Nurburgring race happen first before Le Man race when it was the other way around as an example. Otherwise I enjoyed the movie personally considering I had low expectations for it to beign with. Sure not the best movie nor adeptation but still was a fun watch.
It needed more pink Yaris tbh.
no spoilers please
It's what my peoppe call "afternoon session movie". You watch it, probably like it and move on with your life
maybe get a few more afternoon views on a day where you're home alone bored and stoned but that's about it
Is ironic they could make a entire movie out a game that have never had a story mode himself but can't address and fix the big issues that we already let them know in the feedbacks since update 1.07 that the latest Gran Turismo Game Title haves but yea.... Great Movie, Horrible latest Game if so Gran Turismo SPORT is extremely more stable enjoyable even with the lack of content that it haves but gameplay stability is Top #1
It was a very ok movie with good performances. Nothing you'd regret seeing.
Does Moon Over the Castle song plays on the movie?
Of course not. But you have plenty of Nissan.
There is, in the GT academy part
@@yourenotperfect.9493 thanks broo
2:54 unless you have a hyper expensive Dolby Atmos setup, he's probably right
I've watched GT movie for the first time in mid-flight to Antigua and Barbuda, and it was pretty good adaptation for the first timer in Gran Turismo games.
Love your video bro keep up the good work my dude and your always the best love you dude
My mother recently watched this mobie and she really liked it.
time to get better parents
About to watch Gran Turismo movie. Regardless of what other think about the movie, I'd rather see it for myself.
Despite I didn't go to cinema, I bought myself this movie from YT Movies, I actually love the movie.
My only criticism of the movie is the terrible or confusing timeline accuracy
The story took place in 2011, yet we see bunch of modern cars like the Hurican, the 2017 Ford GT, and some newer models of Audis and BMWs, oh and Instagram story in Jann's phone for some reason even though it wasn't really a thing back in 2011
Idk if this will count. But i hope you will do a review on The twisted metal Tv show from peacock. It was an awesome show. Looking forward to season 2.
Don’t forget the commercial aspect, the goal is to make people thirsty of GT7, they would have made what you suggested about seeing Jann growing with GT versions if they were selling old versions through official retro gaming way (I have no PS so I don’t know through which service they could do it)…
Dustin if you liked the sound design of this movie you will LOVE the sound design of the Need For Speed movie! Watch it and review it!
You are a madlad to watch the movie twice
I knew the movie wasn't going to be the best thing ever but I was expecting a good soundstage and oh boy did it deliver. I'd recommend it just for that alone.
For me this was a movie that featured gran turismo, not an adaptation of it.
Loved the movie so so much
Am sorry but i got bored the first 5mins
ROOT BEER NOOOOOOOOOOO
I agree, it was really decent but I still think Need for speed for game movies is top of the list
I checked and literally no cinema in the near area plays this movie, so yeah...
Second
“peenalised”
Seemed a bit weird how it was all made up, like no actual real racing scenes where they raced irl, it's just trying to be a story of the underdog when I don't think it particularly shows what it actually is about, such as gt academy, the games themselves, the actual racing. Documentary would work better to me, it's trying too much to be a movie, seems rather flat and uninspiring. And why is gt7 used when gt academy and nissan programs were before that point, like no, Jann ain't gonna play gt7😂
Bruh it was cheeks tho fr fr no cap it was most definitely not bussin
itl looked kinda bland. kid goes pro. like ok fine.
How much did PD pay you for it?
You mistaken Blackpanthaa with this chad
dude literally says the movie is "fine", how short is your attention span?
