- Well we just got in a new car, 1993 nissan altima, repo, and this one is actually nice! Great interior shape and low miles for as old as it is. Cleaned up real good, everything works on it, sweet car!
This is actually the best Altima ever made. Size, style and practicality. This is a baby Infiniti J30.
I remember my dad was going to buy me one of those brand new in 93 for a birthday present, I test drove it. Loved it. My dad almost bought for me, he backed out at the last minute. It had a hologram speedometer. My dad was afraid of taking on a third carpayment and insurance payment. It had a Stanza badge on it alongside the Altima badge.
This car is much more reliable than the newer once influenced by Renault.
The forth gen was when it really started to decline but they starting Messing with the Altima with the third gen
The CVT transmission in newer Nissans is a piece of sh"#

I have '94 Altima manual and I'm at 286,000 mi. Still running pretty good, yes it has a couple of things, but these cars are pretty bulletproof. Quite powerful too and fun to drive

My moms 97 Altima made it past 300,000 miles. Ran great too, but it got totaled in an accident.

When was replacement of Stanza those cars are very dependable think most new cars will have bugs liked the 2002-06 Altima's. I used own a 1997 and 2007 Altima they were some great cars though '07 did need CVT replacements Nissan did covered the repairs so was lucky now I have a 2015 Nissan Rogue hope ever do a review on the Rogue and Maxima.

My friend bought a 2016 Nissan Altima 4-door 4-cylinder now it has shutter problems Grille shutter problems pain in the neck that connects to your emissions control you don't need shutters in your front grill give me a break car industry today is not well.
new nissan cars here in the PH has very cold aircon especially the NV350 Urvan and prev.gen Urvans and the Almera

Hi I just gave my cousin my 93 Maxima, I've got a '00 Altima and a '06 Maxima. All three cars have had sudden acceleration.... The 93 has those crazy seatbelts.... its had sudden acceleration 2x over 12 years. I sold it to my cousin for a buck. It's got 118K miles.
Have you heard of the Altimas or Maximas accelerating suddenly in park or drive.
The only way to avoid a certain accident with something....hard is slam the shifter into P and take the key out of the ignition NissanNOHELP

wow good shape...when i start drivin my altima 97 it was 130,000 miles on it...but now its 226,000 miles...thats 10 years ago...
i got new engine for 3000 grand but i have to trade my old one...goodluck
The old nissans were so good. Now they work with f'ing renault which ruined the design of nissan entirely.

I miss my 95 :(. If you take care of these cars they will outlive you. Unfortunately for me, the people who owned the car before me beat on it and it was a little to lite for it.

think about it even though Honda accord had more popularity in 1990 this is actually a bigger car more spacious of course up until Honda accord 1998 but automatic seatbelts is Awesome

Seth Franklin i think so. my neighbor has one its a 1995 with a manual. that thing moves pretty quick for its age. however their 2009 altima went thru 3 cvt transmissions. so it sits now because its got over 120k miles and nissan doesnt cover the transmission after 120k miles. so the 1995 altima is the car that keeps going. i think it has over 400k miles.
christ, so its not bullshit that those CVTs are junk!! i hate those for their unreliability as well as its rubber bandy feeling.... Thanks for the reply i've been looking at some first, second, and third generation Altimas take care mate!

You're a 100% correct! I live in Brazil, and here there are a lot of Renault cars. Unfortunately I had one called "Renault Logan". I bought it brand new in 2016, and it was a really disaster, gave me only problems.
I've sold it very cheap with only 8.000 km (about 5.000 miles) to get rid of me

@123mrkevind I know right my mom also had a 2003 2.5s with the sunroof,16inch rims splash guards, She kept it for 5 years cause @ 62,000miles it blew up right beside nissan so she traded it in for a 2008 and she loves it. oh my mom also had a 1994 altima until it got totaled when she was going to work (hit and run).

Those motorized seatbelts were so annoying! My 1995 Ford Escort had them. Thank god they don't make those things anymore.
@123mrkevind Yes they are if it wasnt for those weak 2002-2006 Qr25de engine it. But those new qr's are MUCH MUCH better and faster

Odd, 1993 must have been the only year that Nissan had those seat belts in the Altima. My 1994 has regular ones, and 93 was the first year of the Altima.
