Wow now this is something I never thought I would see in the slots a fun. I remember always going here in the 90's and I remember how packed it used to be. Literally, you could barely walk in there. I remember buying the long hot dogs and shrimp cocktail for $1 each and playing at the 50cent roulette tables till 4am. Tons of memories here!
First there in 2003. Went back yearly for a long time. Dollar Heinekens, cheap hotdogs, pizza, popcorn. They had actual coins and buckets and little wipes for your fingers. Cheap blackjack and roulette. Awesome memories.
Was just reminiscing about this place. I used to go there as a kid to get the 1/2 pound hot dogs. I had forgotten the popcorn until you mentioned it. It was always so packed. So sad to see it closed off and so gutted.
This was sooo creepy! Went a couple days ago and it felt haunted it was pretty cool and that plastic wasnt there and the music was old 70s/80s you can feel the 80s vibe.
The foot long hot dogs and shrimp cocktails were actually darn good in the 80s and 90s... It was a hopping place, great values on snack food. So sad to see it in such a worthless degenerated state. Glad I have my memories from back then when it was the place for a lunch, and late night after dinner snack. Breakfast at the Sahara breakfast bar or the wonderful Peppermill was way to start the day.. then mid day, a footlong from Slots... and back late in the evening to get a few Shrimp cocktails and a popcorn. It was good times.
They used to have dollar foot-long hotdogs and they went to dollar hotdogs dollar Heineken‘s and dollar shrimp cocktails it was always campy it was always just a place you had to go when you were in Vegas
@@williameddyonlocation it was my go to place it was my happy place when I go to Vegas. It wasn’t particularly clean lotta guys sitting up at the bar get my dollar hotdog get my dollar shrimp cocktail and slam a bunch of Heineken’s it was magical!
Thanks for posting this. MGM Grand really needs to ask it's board of directors or the marketing dept or whatever tf big corporate does to look like there's anybody that cares. They need to give Slots A Fun it's own life again, instead of it being treated as a Circus Circus afterthought. They could make it the place that only has coin-operated slots and bring back the cheap hotdog gimmick, and the big slot machine out front. If you're not going for modern, then go for nostalgia over neglect. Sheesh, MGM Grand. Come on.
MGM does not own Circus Circus and In 2019, Ruffin Acquisition, LLC, wholly owned by Phil Ruffin, purchased Circus Circus from MGM Resorts International.
when i lived in vegas in the 90's i worked across the street at the candlelight wedding chapel and slots of fun was booming at the time , i might have been your limo driver in the 90's some of you who got hitched at the candlelight , those were the day's my friend i thought they would never end , the stories i could tell you people would blow your mind

If it was located more towards the center of the strip like Casino Royale it would be doing fine but besides Circus Circus guests and maybe some Strat guests who walks by Slots of Fun?
It was right across from the once massive Riviera. The high end audio portion of Consumer Electronics Show was once held in the Riv, and the Slots was a quick get-away for a fast hot dog or shrimp, and a drink.. then back to the exhibit room.

Yeah, I always thought it would stay busy too!
We used to go in the morning for free donuts and coffee. $1 black jack. Fun video poker in the back with the mirrors.
Wow, I never knew they had free donuts! Pretty cool!

40 years ago they had an all you can eat buffet here featuring things like Lobster Newburg for 2 dollars!
I wish I could have been there for that one!

I remember sitting at the blackjack tables and being offered so many free beers. Sad to see it like this😢
I feel the same way K Skoog. I have so many great memories of this place. Like you said, it’s sad to see it like this. 😢
We would play at Circus Circus and my dad would go here for slots, hotdogs and Heinekens. Good times!
I bet they were!

I guess it’s location hurts it a lot. But it sure didn’t used to. Thanks, for commenting Vegas Visual!
