I just came by your video and building a 10x16 shed. I am using 2x8 for the floor joist. I bought 7 of these blocks. 3 in the front, 3 in the back and one for the middle. Is that enough?
If you use joist hangers correctly and it's in line with your allowable span then this can work ok. Your best bet is running the cross joists at 10ft lengths. Just make sure the joist hangers are installed so the joists are snug. The sheer weight for 3/8 lag screws are between 600 to 1,200 pounds each. It's preferable to use notched posts, and you can see that in other videos of ours. But in this case Jerry and Sierra factored in the load rating and with a small shed like this it sufficed. They just built a shed about 3x the size of this one, and for that they notched the 4x4 posts so the weight is on the post, not the fastener.
Putting together plans to build a simple lean-to 12x12 next to my existing storage building of the same dimensions. I was dreading having to dig holes for the four 4x4 posts to be used. But then I discovered the Tuffblock product. Problem solved.
You would likely need more for a subframe of this size. Some builders count the joist hangers as load bearing supports similar to TuffBlock, but it's probably worth using more TuffBlocks under the cross joists for optimal strength.
You can find TuffBlocks in Lowe's for under $10 a block (prices can vary from state to state). Alternatively you can purchase them online in packs of 8 and 24 with free shipping directly from the BuildTuff website. We also sell in Bunnings in Australia for around $16.90 AUD, as well as Home Depot in Canada for a similar price in CAD.

Why they didn't cut the hoist width nutch on the 4x4 to place the hoist weight on it instead of the screws ?
