Really underrated Maiden song, as is most of the Bayley era stuff. Sure Dickinson is a better singer and I prefer his voice over Bayleys myself, but that doesn't mean that Bayley is a bad singer by any means and he definitely didn't deserve all the hate he got back in the day and still gets by a lot of fans.

He comes off as dark and heavy but when I came to really comprehend his words and spirits, he became one of the most inspirational people I've ever had the luck of learning about. Dickinson might be more traditional, but Blaze has a deep and genuine energy that I've never heard elsewhere. It's a shame that Mr Bayley has not had the success of Dickinson. I think the world just can't handle it.

I actually meet Iron Maiden during the Blaze era back in 1995 and I love them since then specially Bruce voice but X-Factor was about my life in High School.
Yeah. i was blown away when this record dropped in 1995. especially this song. metal was dead in 1995. It had become a ridiculous cliche. then this record dropped and all the bullshit was stripped away. The production was so stripped down on this record. Dont get me wrong, I loved Birch thru Killers all the way to 7th son. But this record had to happen. My friend and I took a bus to see there show at a small venue in mid town mahatten. It was great and reminded me of the energy they had when I saw them on the Number of the beast tour. Unfortunately Steve got distracted on virtual 11. I think he wanted to combine a new record with a world soccer tour or something so blaze's second album with maiden was stillborn.
I think the whole X factor album is kinda underrated. Just because of lacking Dickinson, many fans approached the album with a prejudice from the day one, they did not even give a chance to it. Personally, i believe X factor is the deepest and darkest album of the Maiden and Bayley contributed that a lot with his barritone vocals.

This coming October will be the 25th anniversary of The X Factor album. I was 16 years old and I purposely missed school that day,just so I could get The X Factor album. It does not feel that long ago at all. I still enjoy listening to The X Factor and Virtual 11 very often. In my opinion all of Iron Maiden's albums are amazing. Some are better than others, but they are all great in my opinion. I have seen Iron Maiden in concert many times, but I never got to see them with Blaze Bayley. They did not come anywhere near me both tours they did with Blaze. I was too young to drive a far distance or to get on a plane to go see them in another country back then, but if I was a few years older I would have done both in a heartbeat.
Blaze is coming to my town on may the 22nd!! I seriously cant wait!! then he is playin in glesga two days later!! gony be the best week of ma life :-D actual!!

Would have been great had Blaze been in Maiden the same time as Adrian Smith, I really believe it would have turned out differently with Adrian's input on the two Blaze albums.
Blaze is an underrated vocalist...X Factor has great song and Virtual XI too! I think his solo career is good and I hope he will recover from his family misfortune!
