@@MrHillbilly Those people that aren’t watching all the way through are missing out! I completely understand not wanting to dedicate your time like that though!

Perfectly executed , great build, astonishing creativity, incredible narrative, funny jokes, and impressive information. You, my friend, are my current best content creator!
If I am wrong please help me to correct it. 😂 I want to give the most honest animal experience. I don’t know everything but I try my best to give the most accurate info.
I mean I like the stup but as a reptile owner I can’t stand all these predators being out into the same space just doesn’t seem right. In the wild they got places to go and here they’re confined to glorified death matches and possibility of getting hurt. Not to mention you’re mixing wild caught animals with domestic bred animals and that’s asking for parasites and disease to spread. Love your enclosure and setup but I can get behind putting all these animals in this setting like this.
They can’t hurt each other and when Crush the turtle starts to grow I’ll be moving him to his own inclosure. “ a pond” lol. Appreciate your thoughts. I wouldn’t put them together if I thought they would hurt each other. Thanks for watching! 😊
While the tank setup is stunning (5/5) the animal husbandry is 0/5 ZERO. Please please please, if you have a passion for animals, stick through this crazy long breakdown of the things that are wrong so that you and your viewers can improve your animal husbandry and moral animal keeping practices! We can always learn, adapt and improve! This is not meant as an attack but a sharing of information so that animals can be happier and healthier and therefore our enjoyment of them can continue without heartache and grief (and big vet bills) A lot of these animals were poached from the wild which comes with extreme risk of introducing diseases and parasites to the other tank mates. It can also incur you massive federal fines and jail time. It is also extremely damaging to local wildlife populations and the illegal pet trade and poaching are directly responsible for the disappearance of many animals in the wild (ever watch that kids movie about the parrots called Rio?) Please don't do this! Where I live there are several species of turtle that have gone locally extinct due to parents letting their kids take the animals home and what were already struggling and isolated populations are now gone entirely and the next generations will never get to know the joy of seeing them in their natural habitats again. Now, as for the animals in this video The animals are showing extreme aggression towards each other and it is not okay to allow animals to fight for likes on youtube. What looks like harmless fun to us is unsettling and stressful for the animals themselves. While they lack the facial expressions or ability to cry or frown or cower like our more closely related mammal friends like dogs for instance, this does not mean they do not feel stress hormones and don't suffer just as much as you or I would at being forced to fight. Morpheus is an axolotl I do believe most water dogs refer to sirens or other salamander species (these are different from axolotls as they often turn into land based salamanders, metamorphic salamanders, and are usually referring to creatures native to north America) AND occasionally used as a name for axolotls (Paedomorphic species that should NOT morph and are native to Mexico) but this seems to simply be a plain full grown male axolotl. " aquanswers.com/water-dog-vs-axolotl-difference/ " Here is a cited website going over some of the basics of the differences between the species. There are many issues with the Axolotl care as well. They come from artificial silt lakes in the "wild" (insert long winded explanation of 'domestication' from early Mayan and Aztec communities here) and the SECOND other animals were introduced in their homes they went locally extinct. There has not been a released census for wild populations since 2016 due to turtles and game fish being introduced to their environments. Coupled with pollution and some of their native range being drained, they are no longer present in their original territories at all and even their more adaptive cousin species are going extinct as well. Remember when I said they came from silt lakes? Unfortunately it is a well known fact that they are dumb ambush predators and will easily swallow rocks (there are videos of emergency surgery to remove obstructions in axolotl mouths all over the internet so this is not a worthless worry. Here is one such cited video " ua-cam.com/video/w2uecrUS26o/v-deo.html ") when I worked with an axolotl rescue, we always told people it was not a matter of if, but when the animal would swallow a stone it was unable to pass and dying from impaction. (unable to pass a stone causes food backup and inability to eat causing organ bursting, infection or starvation.) Furthermore, another "When, not if" comes from the fact that axolotls should never be housed with other animals. EVER. They were affectionately referred to as jello babies at the local rescue and that was because they literally are about as well put together as a bowl of jello. While this makes them super cute, it also makes them a super easy target for other animals. They went EXTINCT when turtles and fishes were added to their native ranges and it only takes one bite for another tank mate to realize they are super tasty and totally defenseless! I cannot stress this enough, it can be YEARS between instances but tank mates will almost always figure out the axolotl has zero physical defenses so much so that we often urged owners to even house their axolotls separately from one another as cannibalism is a preferred pastime for these guys. (they used tiger salamanders to stabilize the breeding captive populations way back in the day and almost ALL axolotls on the market have tiger salamander genetics and therefore are prone to cannibalism) Now I know a lot of people say these animals regenerate and it is therefore okay for them to sustain recurring injuries but they still feel the pain and the most common target of axolotls is their gills. Anyone familiar with the legend of Prometheus pinned to a rock to allow eagles to eat his liver every day? Please do not actually re-enact that with a little jello babies LUNG TISSUE this is excruciatingly painful for the animal and as I said it only usually takes one bite before the tank mates figure out the axolotl is an easy target and I have personally seen owners lose their lotl overnight after a near decade of safe cohabitation that lulled them into a false sense of security. the small fish will be especially prone to eating the gills of the lotl since it looks a lot like little worms. Imagine having an animal eating your lungs, please have some empathy. Cited photo of a reddit thread showing rather mild damage done by a fish to an axolotl, but caused a secondary fungal infection due to the injury. Thankfully this person didn't kill the axolotl and will be able to hopefully fix their animals tank mate situation before a fatality occurred " www.reddit.com/r/axolotls/comments/wg14qb/i_had_a_pleco_in_my_tank_that_started_to_nibble/ " Also, axolotls that morph usually die soon after they are not intended to transform. This is because due to them being a partially 'domesticated' species, they reverted from their morphing ways and just decided it was easier to stay in the water their whole lives. As such it is very harmful for an axolotl to morph and will usually (not always but very often) cause them to die within a year or two and can take a nearly two decade lifespan and stop it in its tracks. The reason you get SOME that can survive for extended periods on land is, like I said, early on in the introduction of axolotls into the united states, the gene pool needed stability that couldn't be obtained from the limited number of original exported animals. Hobbyists and scientists covered this genetic diversity gap by using their close relative, the tiger salamander which DOES transform into a terrestrial creature. It's really a toss up if the animal survives and should never be encouraged. Here is some really great information on axolotls for anyone interested in proper conservation of the species! This paper was done from Oxford and is well cited and thorough " academic.oup.com/bioscience/article/65/12/1134/223981 " Again none of this is meant as an attack! This tank is stunning and you put a lot of work into this! This is simply a call to arms for more thought out animal care and proper conservation of native species. Please keep up the good work but if you are a true animal lover, consider altering your angle so that people are not encouraged to cause harm to their local animal populations or harm to their pets through infighting. These things should not be normalized and putting out content like this can cause extreme harm to animals in captivity across the world due to the nature of the internet. This is a heavy responsibility for a content producer but animal fighting and suffering should not be used as a form of entertainment, dog fighting is illegal for ethical reasons and just because these guys cannot scream or cry like dogs does not mean they are not suffering, it just means they suffer in a more hidden way that we as humans cannot notice unless we are studied in their individual "languages" so to speak. Please reconsider the content you are putting before your viewers and what you stand for as an animal enthusiast.
He’s not an axolotl he’s a tiger salamander larvae. The turtles came from a breeder the only animal caught in the wild was the fish which were gonna die cause our river runs dry every year and kills all of them. I’m not gonna have federal fines for catching a crawfish for a pet that’s just silly. The animals are establishing dominance as it’s a new location. They don’t fight each other. It’s a Peking order that takes place in the wild as well. I’ve been taking care of animals like these for over 30 years and I haven’t had them kill or hurt each other for “likes” the water dog came from a bait and tackle store where they sell them to fisherman to put on a hook and let fish eat them. What I have provided is 100% better than the life he had ahead of him. I’ve also raised them up to a tiger salamander and they live long healthy lives. Thanks for your concern.

First! The tiger salamander and axolotl are related, but the axolotl never metamorphosizes into a terrestrial salamander. However, it is possible to force an axolotl to undergo metamorphosis. This can be triggered by an axolotl’s environment and diet. The animal will look like a tiger salamander, but the metamorphosis is unnatural and shortens the animals lifespan. Second! Your choice of inhabitants I thought was very irresponsible. At anytime more than one of these poor creatures could’ve been injured or even killed! Not to mention the husbandry for each of the inhabitants are quite different! I found the video to be very uncomfortable to watch knowing that an accident could happen at any time. Please at the very least inform people that this is not proper care for these animals and that they should do their own research to ensure the best care for the animals! Your information is very misleading to someone who does not know! Do better please!
There’s always one negative person who doesn’t read and goes on the attack. All the creatures live together in the wild so tell me how is it irresponsible? I’m creating the most natural environment for them. And why are you telling me how to morph an axolotl when I don’t have one?! I’ve been raising water dogs sense I was a kid Also if you find it hard to watch then don’t watch it 🥴
I normally don’t comment but i believe you were just being offered constructive criticism. I have animals too have worked with them professionally for about 7 years. I personally wouldn’t mix the animals that you do it’s a cool temporary setup but i. The long run there is a huge possibility for injury. That’d be dope fart frog setup tho.
@@MrHillbillyokay not to throw hate at you but your water dog isnt one. A water dog belongs to the species of Necturus, it is similar to an axolotl but not the same. This is an Ambystoma mexicanum, and thus an axolotl. Water dogs are slimmer than axolotls and their external gills dont get as long as your specimin in the video. Although their lifecycles and habitat are very similar they are not the same. And even though the axolotl and your tiger salamander are from the same family, they dont morph into each other unfortunatly. Just a heads up, i liked your video and your paludarium is very well made tbh👍
My phone glitches and deleted my essay so I'll just sum it up Crayfish eat salamanders Salamanders eat small crayfish Snapping turtles eat both Even if the snapper isn't big enough to eat either rn it could still take out and arm or leg or an eye. It could kill without eating them. This is poor husbandry and shouldn't be done again. Please take this advice and move the snapper to its own tank. Otherwise everything should be fine. The crayfish should also be kept separate from the amphibians. Otherwise the setup is pretty good and you're in the clear.
I think your terrarium contend is great but I don't like that you went into the wild to catch fish. You cannot just take them from outside! It's illegal and moreover it's a desaster for the environment to drive thru the swamps and foests with your motorcycle. Please prevent our beautiful planet for everyone in every generation to enjoy. God gave it us to enjoy, not to demage it. And I think it could be a nice hiking trip if you went there by foot.
That’s exactly why I built it. I’ve always wanted something like this as a kid! I will eventually give it away to someone who wants it more and building something twice the size this spring.

@@dominospets7578u ever heard of people doing “ecosystem”
My phone glitches and deleted my essay so I'll just sum it up
Crayfish eat salamanders
Salamanders eat small crayfish
Snapping turtles eat both
Even if the snapper isn't big enough to eat either rn it could still take out and arm or leg or an eye.
Never been more invested in a series
That’s awesome!
It's not illegal to collect wild fish, lmao. Get over yourself brah.
He said yea. What’s up. I bust out laughing 😂
