Sand should be no problem. Sand can build up in the tracks if the robot spins in place for an extended period of time but the drive wheels are designed with holes them which allows the sand or other debris to fall through the wheel and work its way back out.

Does it have a rear camera in case I run it in pipe and cant turn around?
Yes, there is a rear facing camera as well as rear facing flood lights.
