The 80s was a great decade.. high quality singers and composers.. I am very happy I enjoyed it when I was a teenager.
The 60’s day what?
The 60’s say what ??
Humberto Flores, really?
One of my favorite songs by them!
I was in High school when this came out,in was blown away! Never heard rap, never heard this type of music and the lyrics!
drummer is amazing....superb
This is great. Funky as fuck. Love the bass.
Actually, the bass track in this video sucks compared to the original (go listen to the original on youtube) . It's being carried by the keyboards more than the bass. Debra Harry and Chris Stein we're in a dispute with original bass player Nigel Harrison and she would not let Harrison perform , so she got some session bassist to jump in with only one brief rehearsal before the show,
growing up, my grandparents lived next door to her parents. It was exciting back then! They had a little gift shop, and we'd go in and they'd tell us all the exciting things she was doing. I'm 57 now and was little back then - before becoming a teen. She is such an icon
How delightful that must have been to experience! 💜☮️
@@DavidPackluvr Ya - it was neat. I feel like it was yesterday. Life is going by too quickly and this world is falling apart. Her music makes me happy.

Same~💜🙏💜
We should be calling her "Lady Blondie" by now, she's one of Rock royalty all right.
By Debbie coming in late with the rap at 3:04, she inadvertently proves what a mastermind Clem Burke is keeping time on those drums.
Greatest performance by Blondie I've ever seen.
Then it must be your first

C’mon! What are you a kid?
I’m so glad blondie did a cover of soldier boy’s song
still never gonna be as good
👏😂
Under rated song. Saw them live and they rocked this song extended also.
It’s not underrated it went to #1 on the charts lol
she's moves well for being her 60's ... still a beauty !!!
Hi Blonde you still rocking it for us during these difficult times God Bless
Amazing ❤
Excellent all times band
BLONDIE FKN ROCKS!!! 🔥💛🥁🎸🎹
Soldier boy
Legendary
One of the first rap songs.
480p? :(
Why is no one dancing? What the hell...I would be dancing up and down if I was there!
My exact thoughts!
Me hubiera encantado nacer en los tiempos donde fue el auge de esta banda fabulosa. ❤️
DEBBIE IS JUST PERFECTIO HERE
Tremendo el baterista!
Blondie is a babe still!
greta song and great performance
Blondie had a "clue" what innovative music really was and broke down barriers for women and race in general. She absolutely was the first white woman to incorporate Rap to a funk backbeat while still encapsulating a rock masterpiece. Not an easy feat by any means!
Exactly!! That’s why I am a 46 year black woman who is a big fan I saw here recently at Coachella ❤
Band sounds great
CLEM SO BOSSSS!!! 🔥🥁🔥
the crowd was dry as hell, also REDHEAD DEBBIE!!!
Look this woman haha she's incrdible
❤
Oh you go
Pretty good Rap.
No
Reddie?
Blondie has CLASS!
One of best disco-rap songs than I had listed in my whole life away.
when I was 13 yrs old, Im in NYC visiting my Uncle...my folks drove us up from DC, where Im born and raised. My Uncle's daughter and I are VERY close...cousins, but more like little brother and big sister. She worked in a high end boutique on Madison at that time. So, we find parking...and we're all walking to the store to surprise her, when out of NOWHERE, I spot Debbie Harry dressed in yellow, red and black..with that platinum blonde hair, walking across Madison in the middle of traffic, jay-walking like a motherfucker.
She didnt even trot or walk fast...she was SLOWLY walking across Madison Ave. And she LITERALLY stopped traffic..there were guys sticking their heads out of their cars to scream "Debbie!!..sweetie, will you marry me?!". Just as she's about to step up on the sidwalk, she says out loud to me and my folks, "Oh, God...this city is gonna kill a girl, I tell ya". She smiled at me and my parents..and kinda giggled when she did it. I will NEVER forget that. I knew who she was, but my parents didnt. And as I tried to tell them she was the lead singer for Blondie, they could've cared less. In hindsight I was too starstruck to ask for an autograph. I just stood there in shock, that she actually spoke to us.
Keep the camera on Clem. He's the real star here.
First rap song of the history
Actually it was Rappers Delight
Debbie's now the cool grandma that goes from speech to killer karaoke at the wedding 😅
where is Frank?
She looks fantastic! She should of had a trendy blonde streak in the front of her hair😃
Grandes lembranças 😢, meu avô sempre me contou histórias sobre o soldier boy, de como ele morreu. Malditos Russos!
❤️💥❤️💥👁️👁️
What the HELL? I Why is NO ONE DANCING???
Old kids now too fat to dance ;)
Makes me think of the B-Horror movie night of the creeps
The good news is your dates are here the bad news is they’re dead
The good news is your date is here the bad news is he’s dead
The good news is your dates are all here the bad news is they’re all dead
If you scream you’re dead
Voice ounds cracked. Years of drugs can deteriorate ur vocal cords. I loved her voice back then.
She is 65 years old in this performance genius. She hasnt done drugs in over 40 years.....and at age 76 is still crushing it.
@@superdave452 Those opening notes, though... OOF! She finds the melody soon enough. You could tell by her leading into it with a few early notes that she wasn't confident on where she needed to go... I'm wondering if they didn't get to practice this performance (or practice it enough). It's only been what, 40 years, since she's been regularly performing this live?
Despite my comments I'm not knocking her. You're right that for her age this is amazing. Still... something didn't come together right for her to be able to confidently hit those first notes. Once she's on, she's on, though. She even did a great job of both updating and throwing back on the styles of the rap portion... cool and deep starting out, then high and loud as she gets into it... honestly I was most impressed with that!
The band's tight, though... excellent arrangement (whether pre-planned or just great ad-libs).
It’s the BASS line.
The rock and roll hall of fame crowd is always lame, I remember how pissed Ozzy and Metallica were during their performances, I’d be on my feet if Blondie busted out this awesome performance. Buncha lames
Anybody know why all of Blondie couldn’t perform?
Would you want to play on stage with guys who have been suing you for millions non stop since 1997?
@@superdave452 probably not
I miss the horns.
It's solja boy
Thank you Karen!
WTF? Deborah Harry is an icon. Not a conservative Karen.
@@kekwayblaze3176 the Greek name Karen means pure and beautiful lady. You need to check your head.
Ring my bell ring my bell 🔔🔔
Soldier boy sang it better
Facts
I hated that Song in the 80s and still Hate it. I called it cRapture
God, Harry’s singing is awful and agonizing....she can’t “sing” two words together! She never had a strong voice, and was never in any sense a natural singer....she was good at forming an image and using her beauty to advantage, but she wouldn’t come close to those I consider real singers. I had to stop listening.
She was always more punk if anything as a singer and punk doesn't require vocal gymnastics.
Her punk attitude of indifference which came across on studio recordings and on stage and her undeniable stage presence is what made her such an icon.
You must be from this old era of thinking any women who are even remotely attractive can't have any talent therefore must have to rely upon their sexuality.
Would anyone agreed this is the best female
Lead band of all time?
Hell No
I would say Heart #1 Joan Jett #2 after that , it's debatable of what you mean female "led" ? writing ? singing ? playing ? Linda Ronstadt, Fleetwood Mac, Pat Benatar, Jefferson Airplane... Blondie is in the mix somewhere , I rank The Bangles higher, they wrote great original songs themselves and played their own instruments
@@andrewfischer556 as in lead singer/full female band

OMG! No!
This crowd is embarrassing. Prince in 04, Blondie in 06. They deserved far better than this crowd of corpses
