    Winter is here, and so are puffy coats in car seats. Unfortunately, you want to avoid using these together. MOST puffy coats keep the harness from getting tight enough, which prevents the harness from doing its job and could lead to the harness sliding off your child’s shoulders. Thin layers (think tight-fitting fleece, for example) will not only allow the harness to be properly tightened, BUT will allow you to layer as needed for proper warmth without overheating in a vehicle.
