- What you DIDN'T KNOW about F1’s One-Time Champions!
In Formula One, there are two types of champions. On one hand, we have perennial winners like Schumacher, Hamilton, Fangio, Prost, and 11 others who have etched their names in history by clinching multiple championships.
Then there are solitary victors, those one-shot wonders who tasted glory just once in their careers.
But who are these lone-season conquerors? And why did they fail to win another title?
Here are 15 one-time F1 champions and their stories.
In today's video we look at What you DIDN'T KNOW about F1’s One-Time Champions!

The video is amazing but the background music is kinda loud
And obnoxious.
Good and enjoyable video. I've subscribed. Good luck with your channel.
Thanks for the sub! Very much appreciated
In some of these cases, it's a little unfair to call these drivers 'one hit wonders'.
Andretti won in almost every series he was in from NASCAR to IndyCar to WSC, notably the Daytona 500 and the Indy 500.
Villeneuve won the Indy 500 and the IndyCar Championship.
Phil Hill won each of LeMans and Sebring three times.
Hawthorne won at LeMans.
Rindt won at LeMans.
Mansell won 31 GP races.
Surtees won seven world motorcycle championships.
A lot of drivers had the talent for several championships but got...none....
You can't call Mike Hawthorne a "one hit wonder". The guy got out before he died. Tragically he died soon after in a car accident. Ironic.
As far as I know he wouldnt lived much longer because of cronic liverfailure.
decent video- Kimi is my favorite - win or crash out- and the BEST interviews
Odd how Williams had five drivers who won only a single WDC (Jones, Rosberg, Mansell, Hill, Villeneuve).
Rosberg 82 (last champion without a turbo until 89. No Turbo in 83 for him)
Mansell 92 (wanted more money)
Hill 96 (during 94-95 the team felt that he didnt lead it well after the death of Senna. In 95 it was decided to replace him after 96 with HHF)
Villeneuve 98 (didnt like the pressure at Williams as nothing was good enough)
Nigel Mansell had the quality to win multiple championships. Bad luck and bad timing got in the way.
and greed
Kimi’s one title with the legendary Scuderia Ferrari made up for multiple missed championships with McLaren
James Hunt.....rockstar
The more I looked at the thumbnail the more I realised it wasn't the people who I thought it was
Why do none of those pictures in the thumbnail look like the actual guy???
When Raikkonen was booted out for Alonso in 10 and its not even mentioned.
The music choice in this one was, let’s say atrocious.
So the common denominator is they were talented but no so much.
And there is one who died and became champion posthumous....due to his points big enough to defend it....the Rosbergs won twice....the father and the son....
Fail video!
How many times does this narrator have to use the word "however"? Stop it please, it's annoying. And the the overboard way he said a couple of drivers names in a fancy way?!!!!!
the man just made 28 minutes of free and fascinating content for you and your only comment is he said the word however slightly too much?
@@charliehill8068 that is valid criticism, although quite hostilely worded.
