Thanks for taking the time to do this video! It was a good debrief before I started mine!
I’m glad it helped you.
Exactly what I needed to know. Thank you.
Excellent many thanks for the video. 🇮🇪👍👍
You’re welcome
This is a great video and thanks! Do you know the tightening torque for the slide pin bolts, for both front and rear?
25 ft-lb Thanks for the comment . Like and subscribe for BMW video.
Thank you
Hey how did you know only the fronts needed it. Same thing happened on my 2016. Indicator on the screen doesn’t specify only the front?
You should have the screen where you can go check vehicle maintenance data . It should show you front brake pad life left and rear brake pad life.
Bro do you know how much does it cost to change the front and back break pads for the x1
Pads are around $40 at autozone and the sensor is around $20
I have a video on how to do the rear pads
Do you just replace 1 front sensor or 2 front sensors?
It just has one on the front
@@275stratos Do you think the rear is the same?
@@ramoss9488 The rear only has 1 but it’s a different sensor
Hey man, UK boi here - to remove the brakes as a whole just to use brake cleaner on the wheel hub do I need to bother taking out the brake pad bit? (The first thing you took off) cheers
No you don’t .
@@275stratos ok thanks so I can just skip to the second part and remove the upper and lower bolts (with cables in mind)
Just remove lower bolts if your not replacing pads
@@275stratos perfect thank you, dropped a sub
Do you happen to know what size wrench is needed for the bleeder screw?
It’s a 10mm . are you changing the caliper?
@@275stratos no, just planned to flush the fluid. Bought her pre-owned and want to make sure it gets done.
By the way, if you ever do a tune up on this car please post it. I saw a video, but it looks like they only changed 3 of the 4 plugs. Thanks.
I definitely will
Thanks
Do you have to disengage the brakes electronically by using an OBD2 scanner?
Not on the front
@@275stratos so, other than setting the parking brake, you didn't have to do anything else inside the car?
The brake pad maintenance life will need to be reset .
@@275stratos and you did that with the scanner? First time working on her so want to make sure I have what I need.
Yes I did but anyone with a good scanner can reset it after you do the brake job
