Jupiter and Saturn conjunction of 12/21/2020 by Michael S Beauchamp taken from Big Creek State Park 10 miles north of DesMoines Iowa. Jupiter and Saturn in the same telescopic field. Note that 3 of Jupiter's moons are visible. The planets were low on the horizon and so details were difficult to capture due to the large amount of atmosphere being imaged through and high winds. It is rare to be able to photograph two planets in the same telescopic field. The last time Jupiter and Saturn had such a close conjunction was during the time of Galileo.
