- I'm learning the new Mega Synthesis by @SONICWARE
Sounds like a Megadrive. If you know anything about me, you know that I was practically brought up by the Megadrive sound. So this is particularly dear to me. To have a hardware synh with Megadrive sound.
Tutorial coming soon.

Here's a chill Mega Synthesis jam. Tutorial coming up soon. Anything in particular you'd like to be part of the tutorial? "Mega Tutorial" has never been a more fitting title. :D
Please check out the “legacy” settings.
Going by the manual, it seems like it gives the patches a particular flavor and crushes samples akin to how the Megadrive would have at the time.
Looking forward to your tutorial!
I know you love that era of FM too.
@@RobbekenSynthMusicthe other day I was reading Yamaha’s “application manual” for the YM2413 to better understand the waveforms, LFO (“vibrato generator” lol), etc and then realised… I’ve got to be among very few people who actually read that for fun rather than for work
Would like to see if you could run midi from a Sega Genesis, or similar games device into the Mega Synthesis 🤔
I just preordered mine, my first FM synth. Very excited to make YM2612 music as no electronic instrument had a bigger influence on me as a child.
Would like to know more about how to shape FM voices on this thing…I imagine I’ll probably be starting with those presets and then modifying them.
Oh! Also can one load their own vocal samples and how?
Thanks in advance for any video on this exciting synth!
Nice little interlude as a taste of what's to come.... love it
Just want to say, it was people like you, and Tom Stanton, Mylar Melodies, Dinko Klobuchar that inspired me to get into electrical engineering. That may seems strange since this is a music channel but people like you highlight the value of unique and well thought out tools. You have a lot of insight about how UIs for embedded electronics work and should work. You have a willingness to menu dive but you understand the value of more accessible control. Your channel will a very valuable source of reference material for me.
That's awesome! Growing up with Sega Genesis I've always loved the sounds it makes!
i loooove your love of FM synthesis. your sound design and composition work are so inspiring.
This would be a great game spot for exploration in dark subterranean environments.
My first console when I was in Sweden was the Mega Drive.....only cause of that I want this synth hahahah the GAS.
love your riff, both the melody and the sound, your jams are inspiring
Your tutorials for the Wavestate 2 saved me from losing my mind. That specific gear should have come with a one page document stating " for further information regarding the functionality of hardware, please refer to "true cuckoo" 👊🧡👍
Thank you so much, pal! I appreciate it 🙏🏼 Wavestate can be a bit daunting! And I didn't even go much into programming the lanes, which would be a next chapter to dive deep into. The Wavestate is nice, ey!
@@truecuckoo super appreciative for the knowledge you dropped. Always diving deeper into its capabilities. I hope one day you revisit and make another fantastic dive into the soundscapes and design capabilities of the Wavestate that only True Cuckoo delivers. Always look forward to your vids and projects alike! Much love from Canada 👊🇨🇦👍
I've missed this sort of content Mr!! Nice to hear some little tunes again with you jammin!
Love the repeating melody it’s relaxing 😎
Amazing! I was a bit afraid that it was "too clean"... But I guess it makes it more usable NOW. Great video!
Love how this sounds. Looking forward to the tutorial 🎉
Some nice patches from you in the library, too!
Soundwise, how would you compare MegaFM and Mega Synthesis? Got the former and I love it. This one seems more feature packed for sure.
mine shipped - super excited to have a physical megadrivey groove box
Shadow of the Beast vibes with that pipes pad innthe background 🫶
Nice resonant EP sound here 👍
Thanks, I wanted to try make a typical FM piano the first thing I did, haha. FM ratio 1:3 magic 🪄
@@truecuckoo haha I discovered they’re all 1:3 (if only two operators) in a recent exploration recreating PortaSound presets on an Opsix! And it instantly made sense, you need that fifth floating above after all.
Fantastic 🎶
I didn't realize it was the Mega Synthesis... Just coding while listing and I was like... Woh.. That sounds like the Master System Jurassic Park music ^^
Thank you for sharing, I was very curious to hear this mega synthesis
Nice one Cuckoo! ^ ^
Nice! Can't wait for mine to get here.
Looking forward for the tutorial! Sounds amazing. I have this device and all I make sounds cheap :)
I was ready to not give a hoot about this latest Liven. Damn you.
oh snap Jamuary 2024 already
New year now we go agane
this thing will sell out before we see a single patch editing video...
I just got my MegaFM MkII, but I still kind of want one of these. :D Nice tune!
Sounds good!!! Please do Ice Cap Zone Act 1 next. 😉
Pretty deep is it?
Cool track and great FM vibes
I just ordered this thing last week! Up until now I have been using the MegaMidi which is very cool, but missing any drums.
such a beautiful gloomy tune
Sonic-Casino was the jam
Reminds me of Rambo III on the Megadrive
Wow! I didn´t know that this synth could sound so deep and make NotGameMusic.....
It be nice if you could compare it with the twisted electronics and other emulations to measure the sonic authentication and fidelity ❤
I need this and the elz_1 play. Put the import is expansive af
Sounds kinda like Rain World OST !
such a great soundtrack
Cool 🙄
