Full Disclosure: I occasionally take on freelance work at Sonicware on an hourly rate producing synth & sample sound design, beta testing, checking English text and videos like this. Any other shorter videos on my channel containing Sonicware products are not paid content.
So the ELZ_1 play is now shipping to its backers and will also go on general sale. Please see the following link for more information about that:

The black keys edition is shown here but is also available with white keys.

Mine just arrived an hour ago. Currently on a tutorial hunt....
I don't have a full tutorial unfortunately. One was planned but was delayed along with everything else. I'm not sure what the plan on that is at the moment. Would an accessibility document help? Most things are pretty well laid out in the manual but let me know what you need help with
Actually have I invited you to the unofficial Sonicware Discord? The users are super helpful, there's a number of bugs in version 1 that have been discovered and reported that are mentioned there. That's here discord.com/invite/HDrQFWNf
@@ChrisLodyMusic Oh yes please! Once I know the layout I reckon I'll figure the rest of it out. Thanks.
Can you save multiple patterns containing 4 loops each or is it like the liven
I presume you're talking about the way that the Liven 8 Bit Warps loses all its loop recordings when it's turned off. That's not the case here, you can save your loops down to the SD card in multiple slots and recall them whenever you want. They are saved as .wavs so can be loaded up in a DAW easily
@@ChrisLodyMusic that’s good to know cheers 👍
Wow! Sounds terrific. Can't wait for shipment.
I’ve recently preordered this thing but anxious how long it’s going to take. It was on the 22nd march last week and I changed to the white key version because apparently more are available as opposed to the black key. Any idea when they’re due to ship. Im getting really exited every time I see this demo. Those strings synths are awesome.
I don't have any behind the scenes info apart from the blog that's been updated since it was first announced. There were a few manufacturing issues which have delayed production considerably, but by the sounds of it the factory are about to make a big batch so hopefully it won't be too long before it ships. Here's the blog dr.yuendo.jp/blogs/backstage-blog
@@ChrisLodyMusic thanks appreciated 👍
Sounds are superbly rich...it’ll be really interesting to hear this in mixes with other synths and instruments, seems to be extremely well balanced and adaptable. Love the screen too, much better than expected
Yes it's a nicely designed bit of kit. I've made one jam using it with the Volca Modular which is also running through it's effects, but I'll keep using it with more gear in future videos. The jam is here ua-cam.com/video/_2wknZwz5Fg/v-deo.html
The "All Liven" for this price is a steal. Added to the wishlist!
Yeah it's damn good for the money 😁
i hesitated at first but preordered during the last wave. excited for it to come, i check the updates every friday.
Oh excellent, I don't think you'll be disappointed 😁
So glad I backed this, looks and sounds really good!
NIce, I hope you have a lot of fun with it 😁
Thanks for the ELZ update! Can you put the same drum on 2 keys for playing 16th notes with 2 fingers? Thanks!
So at the moment you can only import kits built on the SmplTrek. On that you can import the same sample to different pads if you want to play like that. I'm hoping eventually there is a kit building mode directly on the ELZ_1 play 🤞
As a Sonicware “fan observer enthusiast” it is awesome to see the company doing well and finally starting to produce premium products with hardware and software improvements (such as 32-bit float).
Keep pushing guys 🙌
Yeah it's great to see a company growing. I'm really looking forward to the Lofi-12 XT too which looks like it's going to be a lot of fun 😁
Is it like a cheaper op1?
Yep, it's cheaper than a second hand original OP-1. Website's not been updated properly yet, but you can find it here: sonicware.jp/products/pre-order-elz_1-play
@@ChrisLodyMusic very interesting!!!
Finally shipping! Sounds great. New string engine is like nothing I know of and pretty realistic sounding!
Yeah I like that they've tried to keep their sound engines interesting and unique. I think there's room for some more vanilla stuff alongside that like a dual oscillator with cross mod for example. Hopefully they'll keep adding to it
Very nice👽
Does each loop get its own length? In other words, if I want a 4 bar chord pattern, does that mean I need to record 4 bars worth of drums? Thanks
Yes you're free to record loops of different lengths onto different tracks so you can mix and match as you like
Still no news for shipment... Behringer-like announcement ?
It's started shipping on the day this video was published to backers in the order the purchases were made. So if that includes you, expect it soon
@@ChrisLodyMusic I hope to get it soon...
I learned to not pre-order any Sonicware product. Every one of the products I pre-ordered get delayed by several months. This one was supposed to go out in October of last year, delayed to Nov, Dec... 6 months waiting and more...
Great sounds coming from that box!!
Yeah it's pretty impressive 😁
sounds and looks very cool
Yeah it's very nice 😁
Great for noobs I suppose. Yawn for me.
Fair enough I'd it doesn't excite you but there's a huge amount of sound design potential here. I'd argue that's not noob territory
Such a cool comment, I bet you’re such a pro
So what pro equipment do you use?
