Brilliant video mate so glad I’ve found someone who’s also Scottish and has one of these and the detail in the vids helps a lot when I’m fixing mine 👍🏻
Hey Robbie, cheers for watching!😊 Where abouts in Scotland do u stay urself? How u finding your Leon? You'll possibly be braving the ❄️ snow in it just now 🥶
Glad to hear you are getting a benefit from your dogbone insert 👍🏻 And in a 2+ cupra R 🔥🔥🔥💪🏻 Thank you for watching and supporting the channel mate 😊🙏🏻
I've put this red puck on my Passat B8 2.0tdi... I still have it... But! Car has terrible NVH at idle which was literary teeth rattling until I raised RPM's via VCDS. It was immediately tolerable - something like old 1.9 Tdi engines. The thing I got with this mode is sharper start, nicer gearshift but idle comfort is lost! That car in oem state is quiet without any NVH! My recommendation if you are not willing to give up the comfort of your car is to not install this! You are warned! It will never "break in". I have more than 15 000 kilometers after installing and it is still same like on the first day of installation.
This is good to know, and I appreciate you taking the time to write your comment to inform others. I can imagine diesel engines must be very harsh for vibrations, as my Ibiza 1.9 TDI is harsh as standard when idling. Definitely something for diesel owners to consider and weigh up when about to get one. Fortunately for me in the petrol TFSI it's been reasonably teeth chatter free so far.
I've got the yellow one in my Leon Cupra and its okey. My ep3 type r has this things in al the engine mounts and a torque damper and that feels a lot more like race car. The Cupra is stil comfy for road use :) Greetz from Holland!
Cheers Tim! Ah Ur type R must feel amazing when you are booting it out on back roads 🔥👌🏻 I probably could have just put up with the yellow one, but this red one does already seem a little softer even after just a week of it. Cheers 👍🏻
Thanks for video, never thought of changing mine on my FR. Had an odd issue recently when one rear bulb went(outer left) and then the other (inner left). Still love the car though, went to look at a GTI 40 last week, but just wasn't worth the cost to change (quicker but not all that much to be fair) and our Leon's are still looking pretty good.
Wow, a GTi 40 would be an amazing car to have!! I thought it would be a lot quicker, surprised to hear the Leon would keep up. And yeah ur right, these MK2's still look good to this day, a really well designed car that as u say, that kind of pays for itself now, with only maintenance, fuel etc, being the expense.
Cheers Tim, and yeah anytime!! Always good to hear viewers car hobbies and builds on the go. The car community is always an warm, educational and informative one 😊👍🏻
Yeah it can be tiresome sometimes, esp at low speeds in traffic or manoeuvring in car parks. The O34 are quality bits of kit so good shout. Just a shame it is so harsh.
@@NorthCoastWorkshop yeah i might try installing again, see if i get a different result! Some people claim no vibration but it's the internet after all
Yeah, I've read some owners also claiming no vibration with the yellow insert fitted. When I fitted mine a few years ago, I started the car and immediately knew it was there!!! 😅🙈
Howya getting on bro ,I remember the first bushing install will be interesting ok n the results with the new one.. the Milwaukee is great , actually AA standard in Ireland
Hey mate, one of the OG's from back in the early days 💪🏻😊 love it!!! Yeah, it's starting to feel a little better already, still vibrations at low revs, but less of a thump between gears, while still being an improved gear change over standard. And yeah, really happy with the torque that comes out of the wee Milwaukee. I suppose u pay for what u get, and this beast will hopefully pay for itself over the next 10 years 😁🤞🏻
@@NorthCoastWorkshop indeed sir OG💯...I've thought about the dogbone bushing but think it's the bone is the replacement on my Leon ... Mainly for wheel hop
Yep, I bought mine from awesome GTi www.awesomegti.com/shop-by-brand/powerflex/powerflex-lower-dogbone-mount-insert-kit-pff85-504-pff85-704/ Just scroll down a bit, you'll see the various options depending on the age of your car, so just double check ur mount looked the same as mine (after 2008) Diesel option is for the red inserts, my part number was PFF85-704R, so u could use that part number to shop around for the cheapest supplier. Hope that helps 😊👍🏻
@@NorthCoastWorkshop Thanks; all good stuff; am currently thinking about red softer insert (red doesn't mean anything though; simply down to manufacturer e.g. the lower cost Chinese red versions are hard?); for A3 8P1 tdi sport 2006; still not sure it's worth the additional vibration risk though!?
If I was under the car again, I'll probably just buy a new OEM dogbone mount as it will be a little stiffer than a 13 year old one, but still way easier to live with than these inserts. The vibrations, although I've gotten used to them, can be a little annoying now 😅
Ah that's a good shout, yeah I should have taken all the washers off, popped the bolt in and gone a run. TBH I was just being a weakling while I struggled with mine 😅
Cheers mate, and yeah it's never ending isn't it!! Continual content though! 😅🙈 Is the motor knackered in ur mirror? Usually winter takes its toll on them, I replaced one last year. The fuel smell I'm not so sure of. Maybe an injector seal in the fuel rail has perished? That happened to me 2 years ago. I dd a video on it actually, the symptoms, then fault finding and how I finally got it fixed.
@@NorthCoastWorkshop Thats true mate 🤣. Great content. The motor is working perfectly fine (mirror). I replaced the fuelpressure sensor wich was leaking. Youre right i saw the video. It must be the fuel injecktors. I got aftermarket ones (RS4).
@@superbikesquadracer it's so hard to track down the exact source but it's probably something under pressure thats letting out the fuel/vapour. Hope u manage to track it down 🤞🏻

It was a great car just struggled with it being £22k better 😊 power wise mine should be 200bhp, but its always felt more nimble.

Ive got the o34 aluminium inserts on my mk6R, vibratey piece of shit down low but not bad when you get going. Might remove it honestly.

Let me know how it goes and if you still have your fillings in after a week or so 😅
90 degree more after torque is for stretch-bolts? Unless you want to strip the threads or sheer it off? So was/is that a stretch bolt or not?
This one was a brand new stretch bolt, apologies I didn't make that clear in the video ✋🏻

Need to do this with my mk3, wheel hop is awful 😩
Yeah its a nasty trait with some of these cars, and a horrible feeling/sound when it does happen 😔
So is the bolt a stretch bolt? And where do you get the right one/s?
Part number is # N10558002, I just copied that into Google and think I bought a genuine one from an eBay seller 👍🏻
