    I got this light free with a battery combo kit and i love it. I had to cut off power to change out a panel and the magnets were super usefull to keep the light up high aimed right at my area of work.

    I use these lights every nightshift on a iron ore site in Australia, these are the only portable lights that can withstand the envioront and abuse from fitters. Have seen plenty of these drop 2m and still continue working. These are $200 in Australia so please don't argue about your American price

      Hi two of you guys. I am a plumber. Just started last year and experienced that I need reliable long lasting lights when I doing finishing job. Which one is the better between M18 lantern or m18 Rover ?

    • @TheDurbinCompound
      @TheDurbinCompound  4 роки тому +1

      This light. The lantern is light a room to a certain extent. Not spot light

    Would have been nice to know the run time and power of the different settings. Also a quick demo of the light in a dark work space (attic) would have been good. I use 2 battery's with this light, both 2AMP so it is a lot lighter in use than using a 4AMP - 5AMP battery, so the magnet works really well with the weight of a 2AMP and there is always a spare battery ready. Also the handle is very easy to grab if that is an issue for someone. The clamp works better also, plus the battery's get used if needed, on the other 18V tools. The 2AMP battery's are a win-win for me. I also use the 12V version of this lamp, which is ok but hasn't got the performance of the 18V version. If you need plenty of light, the 18V lamp is the only way to go I find.

    I bought my rover a coue of weeks ago. overall, i think it is well worth the price, although i think its a bit of a pain to carry it with a 5.0A-hr battery in that I sm unable to wrap my fingers around the handle. I think they should have made the handle larger to compensate for the footprint of the 5.0 battery they used to advertise in their stats. The thing that sold me on it was the 360° swivel and Neodymium magnets.

  • @zhelko

    why not do 5 min of research and talk about the run times since you are doing a review?!?

  • @smithmal01
    @smithmal01 4 роки тому +4

    Thanks for this review. The other issue with this light that people complain about are the following:
    1. Handle is in a bad location. Tends to be difficult to grab the handle for people with larger hand when larger batteries are used
    2. Speaking of larger batteries, I've read that it doesn't fit the 8Ah or larger M18 batteries
    I do like the swivel and you're getting a lifetime warrenty on the LEDs (not to mention a 5 year warrenty on the light). Agree that $100 is a little steep and one should wait in a deal in the $70 or lower before pulling the trigger. I have the M12 rover (2364-20) and have not been impressed with it's light output so if I had to do it over again I'd go for the M18 version. I also really like the articulating LED head (that's also not available on the M12 version).

    I have found this light to be very useful. It was a gift from my son. Well designed for pros as well for some savvy person like me. However, I would like to find out its run time ? Thanks Milwaukee for a fine product.

    $100 bucks, sounds like a lot, but the dollar is quickly becoming the pesos. I went 2 weeks ago to a local chain fastfood burger joint with a co worker and got to combo meals. Were talking 2 burgers. 2 large frys and 2 large fountain sodas, $34 and change. My jaw dropped and I thanked him for buying lunch.
    So when you think about it, $100 bucks will get the average person, lan average lunch with a buddy, a pack of smokes and maybe half a tank of gas. But this light seems sturdy, useful, handy for use in places with no plug in power and if its durable and lasts a few years, then hell yah its worth it.
    You'd only get a day or so of use out of the food smokes and gas for $100.

    Amen ...work in refineries in the usa. In tanks and in pipe racks and such. From an industrial stand point it is tough as nails. Seen them dropped kicked and still keep going. Great when I am making a fit on a fw for my welder in a dark nasty place and need light and don't feel running a cord of an outlet that probably hasn't worked in years.....worth every penny....

    I just picked one up on a deal from CPO. Rover light, flashlight and free wet/dry vac. I would have preferred the m12 light. I think it was better thought out.

    Owned it for several years- rugged, run time is dependent on which battery you buy (Amp-Hr rating). Creative clamp and magnet work well on ladders, studs. Sturdy, five stars on Amazon. Quality isn't cheap, I have milwaukee equipment that is 30 years old. Buy American, tools that last are an investment-

      I think in that video he just make sarcasm by mentioning led is expensive this day because the fact led is so cheap this day, not only 'cree' is making led, they have to fight with 'luminus', so they lower their price to compete each other.. they used to sell each xml2 led for $8each, now you can get it for just $1 for a bare led now.. checkout on mousser, i dont see which led that produce 1500lumen is expensive like you said..

    The one thing that instantly stood out to me is the tool does not come with a case or even come in a box. Well that would be no problem if the clip system that secures the light to the case did so with the lens in toward the tool not out where it will soon loose its clarity from scratches.... I can not believe no one at Milwaukee saw the benefit of this simple change.
