Howdy Brother- I sure appreciate you watching the video. I have been watching your videos since I found your channel. It’s easy to see that you are real people who love the Lord. I appreciate that. God’s blessings to y’all
Howdy y’all- thank you so much for your kindness. It just made sense to put the storage room at the end of the track. Thank you for watching the video. God bless you
Our dear friend Drew shared your video today as one of his Drews Lens Reacts videos. What a blessing to see your awesome carpentry skills and see Drew supporting you and your channel. Have a blessed week, Paul!

Howdy Brother- thank you so much for watching the video. It’s so nice to hear from other carpenters, especially from another country. I have friends who have been blessed to visit Germany and they say it’s a beautiful country. Take care and God bless you
Thanks for the start-to-finish video, Paul. I LOVE how you have an enclosed home for the millhead. What a neat design. Add a little wood stove, and a coffee pot, man, you could hide out in there. Shalom!
Howdy y’all- I sure appreciate you watching the video. Yeah, the room for the mill head is really nice. I may have to build on and make it bigger lol. Hope everything is going well with your house build. Take care and God’s blessings to you

Did you add a section or two to the mill bed? It looks longer than when Sandy had it. That was a neat idea to close in the head like that, and to floor in in front. Makes it easier to change blades. They say that the older you get the smarter you get. Doesn't seem to apply to me yet and I'm 80. Maybe there's hope yet. Best wishes, and the Lord Bless.
Howdy y’all- I built an extension on the mill out of 3”x4”x1/4” angle iron. The whole track is whatever the factory 10’ section was plus 23’ that l made. I can easily saw 26’ The track extends into the storage room. I put a 3’ extension on the starting end to keep the sawhead out of the way when loading the mill. Howdy- it sounds like you have a wonderful family treasure to hang on to. To a collecter it would be worth a lot. I really wouldn’t know how much it is worth. I wish I could help you. Just hang on to it God bless you
not sure if my last comment went through, not sure how to send a comment on youtube. Anyhow, I'm 70 years old. Had a 0 frick sawmill pulled with a 471 detroit from age of 25 to 50. Then family farm sold. I sure missed smelling that fresh pine sawdust. Sold farm in 2007 and moved to 10 acre site. I bought a cooks mp-32 last summer to scratch my itch and keep up with fallen trees by storms. This sawmill is so much slower than my frick, but I can saw by myself and not have to worry about getting blade hammered. It is also alot safer. Thanks for your video.
Howdy Woody- yes, your comment came through and I replied. I sure love to listen to those old Detroit engines pulling a sawmill. I only know of one fellow who is in his 70’s that can hammer out a blade. He and his Daddy used to go all over the country hammering blades back when there were a lot more of the old sawmills running. I sure wish you the best with your sawmill. Take care and God’s blessings to y’all
Another great and informative video Paul! That will be good to keep the mill out of the weather but still be outside! Happy Holidays to you and yours. 👋😁
Howdy Terry- thank you so much for the kind words. My rails are about 15” off the concrete. Works great for me. Wishing you the very best with your build. Take care and God bless
Howdy Johnny- thank you so much for the kind words. It is nice to have a roof over the sawmill. I also have been able to use it as a work area for other things than sawing. Take care and God bless

I was thinking maybe your Dad joked about "give you the block back" :) Almost a sin to call that structure a shed :) I dont know of anyone on yt that has the skills you do Bro. Paul.....just amazing...Blessings
Howdy Brother Duke- yep, Daddy would have wanted his block back lol. I sure do appreciate you Brother, for everything. Been thinking about sending you an email lately to let you know how things are going. Thank you so much for your kindness. May the Lord bless y’all and keep y’all safe
Howdy Mike- thank you so much for the kind words. The posts are 20’ in between them but with someone helping me l can get a much longer log on the mill. I could easily mill a log 26’ if I had a tractor that could pick it up. God bless
Howdy Brother/ thank you so much! Hope all is well with you up there. I’m guessing that winter is about to make an appearance. Stay safe and warm. God’s blessings to you
Hey this is Eugene it's been awhile since you've been on here I was really worried that may be something happened and I was praying to God that you were okay
Howdy Eugene- I’m still going. Shifting gears with work a little bit. Will be out of town for a while. Will still do some videos of the next project. Been keeping you in my prayers. Take care and God’s blessings to you
Howdy Sue- it wasn’t explained in the video because of time, I did tell why in a previous video of the sawmill shed build, the whole log was way too much for my old tractor to lift so I trimmed off when I wouldn’t be using before loading it on the mill. You’re very observant. Take care and God’s blessings to you
how did you treat the ends of the timbers in the ground? singed and oiled? are they on a poured footing or just compacted native soil? nice looking structure
Howdy Hayden- l did the shou sugi ban up the posts about 4 1/2 feet. I tamped several inches of gravel in the bottom of the holes and tamped gravel around the posts so water won’t stay around the post. Thank you so much for watching the video and for the kind words. God bless you
Hello, great job. Will build my sawmill shed next year for my cooks mp-32. Is the black on the bottom of your cedar post creosote, oil or (shou sugi ban process), which is where they burn wood to prevent rot. Thanks, Woody
Howdy Woody- thank you so much lord bless watching the video. Much appreciated. I did the shou sugi ban on the bottom of the posts up about 4 1/2’. I put several inches of gravel in the bottom of the holes and tamped it really well. I don’t use concrete around a post, I tamp gravel around the post so moisture can get away. I’ve seen post rot when concrete is used. If the post shrinks a bit water runs in and has no place to go. I sure wish you the very best with your sawmill shed build. Take care and God bless
Great video as usual. What's the going rate these days to have a tree milled? It's been about 10 or 15 years since I had any trees milled, back then it was 25 cents BF at the circular saw mill and 30 at the band saw mill. I'm in Pa. Thank you.
Howdy y’all- I only saw for myself but it will vary from place to place. From what I understand some people are getting.75 a foot on a bandsaw mill. I wouldn’t know what it would be up in Pa. God bless
Awesome video! It's nice seeing the 126 properly covered. I'm afraid mine travels around a bit too much to customers and it's looking a little worse for wear these days. Also really liked your 'torque wrench.' I'll have to start doing that too.
Howdy Brother- thank you so much for the kind words. Yeah, my “torque wrench “ works pretty well lol. Hope you are doing well and enjoying some timber framing. I’m fortunate to have a timber framer/log builder down from up North helping me. Will introduce him soon. Take care and God’s blessings to you
Howdy Don- I can cut 24’-26’ pretty easy but my old tractor might not be able to pick something like that up. The opening is 20’ but I can wiggle longer logs in that fairly easy. I think the longest I’ve cut so far is 22’ for the big opening in front. God bless
@@TheBeardedCarpenter That's awesome ! If you can keep it level for the long ones, I can only do 16' & i don't do many of those, Mostly 8'-10' just for my projects, A few 16's for skids, Very happy with the mill & what it saved me :)

That's one heck of a strong well built sawmill shed. I'm sure you'll get lots of use and time out that shed. Great carpentry skills my friend.
Howdy Steve- thank you so much for the kind words. Much appreciated. I think the shed will stand for a while. God bless you
❤💪🙏yes sir that’s tough God bless brother

Howdy Donald- I sure appreciate you watching the video and for the kind words. Take care and God’s blessings to you
I was thinking maybe your Dad joked about "give you the block back" :) Almost a sin to call that structure a shed :) I dont know of anyone on yt that has the skills you do Bro.
I love the build!
How big of a log can you get in there?
Howdy Mike- thank you so much for the kind words. The posts are 20’ in between them but with someone helping me l can get a much longer log on the mill. I could easily mill a log 26’ if I had a tractor that could pick it up. God bless
What a well thought out saw mill shed! Great carpentry and joinery. The corbels are a nice touch. Thanks!
Howdy y’all- thank you so much for watching the video and for the kind words. God bless you
Wow, great looking building!
Howdy y’all- thank you so much for watching the video and for the nice comment. God bless
Howdy y’all- thank you so much for your kind words. God bless
Absolutely brilliant! We’re learning so much from you and how we want to build our sawmill shed!!! Excellent work! (And even better in person!)😊
Howdy y’all- thank you so much for the kind words. Can’t wait to see you sawmilling. It’s addictive. God’s blessings to y’all
@@TheBeardedCarpenter we’re getting ready to mill all the lumber for the UA-cam studio, so it’s coming!🥰
You gotta make a video! I’ve not been able to do a lot of video watching while working out on town. Too much to get done after work hours. Blessings
@@TheBeardedCarpenter absolutely we will! Although we’re still learning!!! 😬 Good bless you and your lovely family!
Looks great. I really enjoy watching the progress of the mill shed. You just keep on going.
Howdy Brother/ thank you so much! Hope all is well with you up there. I’m guessing that winter is about to make an appearance. Stay safe and warm. God’s blessings to you
that looks so good. i really enjoy your work. your attention to detail is second to none. your patience and skills with wood is a lost art.
Howdy y’all- I sure appreciate you watching the video and for the nice comment.
Take care and God’s blessings to you
Very satisfying video. Fantastic build, my friend. Blessings 🙏👏👍💕😊🤗
Howdy y’all- thank you so much. I appreciate you watching our videos. Take care and God’s blessings to you
What size lag screws do you use for the bracings ? Thanks, Bård from Norway
Howdy Bard- I used 1/2”x6” lag bolts on all the knee braces and the top plate timbers. Thank you so much for watching the video. God bless
07:34 Question for you. This is the first of your videos I have wached. Why did you square up the log before putting it on the mill??? 💜💜
Howdy Sue- it wasn’t explained in the video because of time, I did tell why in a previous video of the sawmill shed build, the whole log was way too much for my old tractor to lift so I trimmed off when I wouldn’t be using before loading it on the mill. You’re very observant. Take care and God’s blessings to you
Nice video
Howdy y’all- thank you so much. God bless
I shaved this morning. Let’s see mind wisdom for July 😊
Howdy Thomas- haha, I’m sure you will do really well. Take care and God’s blessings to y’all
nice build
Howdy y’all- thank you so much for your kind words and for watching the video. God bless
how did you treat the ends of the timbers in the ground? singed and oiled? are they on a poured footing or just compacted native soil? nice looking structure
God bless
@@TheBeardedCarpenter Thank you.
Take care and God’s blessings to you
I wish I had your talent.
Howdy Micky - I sure appreciate your kind words. God bless
That pretty nice mill shed :) How long are you set up to cut ? set up looks pretty long "
Howdy Don- I can cut 24’-26’ pretty easy but my old tractor might not be able to pick something like that up.
