    Relic Nothing Map: Exists
Every other Civ: "Must collect relics FAST so that I can buy food to make more villagers as quickly as possible"
    Incas: *Laughs in Free Llama*

Aztec: So how you lost against the Spanish?
Inca: My country got into a civil war while the conquistadors came and take the advantage of our situation. What about you?
Aztec: I thought they were god.
    Inca: *Bonks Aztec*

Technically, the war was over by the time the Spanish arrived, and the Incas had a huge advantage in terms of numbers and geography. Pizzaro's ambush at Cajamarca is really the only way his party could have survived under the circumstances.

Sorry to ruin the joke, but the Conquistadors wouldn't have beat the Aztecs if they hadn't allied with the other local civilizations who disliked the Aztecs.

@Barack Obama Not on the first expedition. They had lost most of their horses and weapons by the time they did actually conquer Tenochtitlan and they were outnumbered like hell.

@@awtqrtrkjsrs Even if Spanish guns were way more "futuristic" for Incas and Aztecs, the real cause for those empires to fall in time was the flue. New viruses and illnesses that America (As continent) had never faced/had before.

Conquistadors: Just got done conquering the Aztecs; this whole South America thing is going to be a breeze!
Conquistadors: walk into an Andes valley
    (Inca theme music starts playing)
    Conquistadors: Oh shit

yeah, that was what used to happen to the spanish cavalry, incas had by then their own native halberds, sadly defeated by their own brothers.

I expect many of the conquistadors' hearts skipped a beat when they first saw the camp of Atahualpa's army: Thousands upon thousands of tents pitched in orderly rows, housing tens of thousands of soldiers.

The Inca empire was so much unlike its Meso-American counterparts the Aztecs and the Mayans. It was tough and resilient.

they were even able to defeat the spanish cavlry many times, sadly as someone said in another comment, they were at civil war.
