I recommend to take some lessons still though, while hard to find some none that don't sell happy meals but look hard enough then you'll definitely find some good one's, even though my dojo has like tiny seeds of a mcdojo I'd say mine isn't a full on a mcdojo, like the training is real, we still fight for points but we do train actual kata drills, karate strikes, no bs long moves, we spar alot, and we do go into tournaments that we actually from time to time win. Like my dojo while having tiny sussy things are very real.

I used to practice shorin Ryu shorinkan karate when I was a little kid and I used to be so disobedient and unmotivated and now, I've turned fully opposite. I'm going to the same dojo, same sensei, and I now have a burning motivation, an undying impatience, to do it again and right the wrongs that I've done now that I'm more motivated, mature, disciplined and wiser. Even though I must wait till fall I don't wanna wait but watching and putting your videos into use feeds it.

Definitely stretch first, I do taekwondo(we do the same kicks) and if I don’t stretch before, my kicks are not nearly as good as they should be. So I definitely recommend stretching!(you can get higher too(if you stretch), hence a better workout.

He probably can make money in a safer way without needing to undertake unnecessary harm. Fighters who participate in those fighting promotions do it to earn money and that's respectable, but it's not the only avenue for martial artists.
Take into account that the videos he makes are guaranteed to make him money as opposed to needing to grind for a fight and risk not earning anything at all (strictly speaking from the fight purse if someone loses, not counting sponsorships, commercial promotions, etc).

I've fought Taekwondo black belts and karate black belts and Judo brown belts, etc, I've sparred against professonal MMA fighters and tapped them out, including one with 20 professional wins, and not one person has EVER landed a kick on me above belt knot level. Every single time anyone has ever attempted a head kick against me, I blocked it out of the air and caught their leg and either punched them or kicked them so hard they complained to sensei, or I submitted them with some form of ankle lock/heel hook.
There is never a reason to kick above sternum level, and there is rarely a reason to kick above solar plexus level. For every one degree your kick goes above horizontal, you lose about 1 PERCENT of your force, so if you are kicking at the head of your opponent, you are losing over half the force of your kick. You may as well be punching them in the face with a properly trained 1000 pound punch instead of trying to kick them in the head. Your opponent is not standing on the ceiling like spider-man, you idjit, and if they are, you should turn and run instead of actually fighting them, so I am not impressed with 1 in 1000 full time martial artists people being able to kick over their heads.
The author of this post has regularly won a 1vs2 handicap match against two REAL second Dan black belts trained by ex-Marines, one of whom was himself an ex-marine and a 235 pound natural heavyweight and I was 185 pounds at the time. I've literally never needed to kick above sternum level; not when sparring, not in a real full contact match, not in a 1vs2 second dans handicap, and not in a real street self defense situation.

The truth is when Taekwondo students and Judo students joined my old Sensei's Isshinryu Karate dojo, they discovered we were already better at both striking and grappling than them and they were way behind my Sensei's students of supposedly similar kyu and Dan levels.
I can still get my front snap and front thrust kicks up to chin level when warming up, and that's even considering I've had two strokes in my lifetime. Nevertheless, I'd never kick to the head in a real fight or self defense situation. I'm going to focus on punching to the front of the throat in a defense situation and I'm going to focus on kicking or kneeing to the side of attacker's knees or their groin or their solar plexus or kidneys, something like that. In a defense situation, being able to theoretically kick over your head is not going to help you very much.

Anyway, that was then, this is now. Being 43 years old and having had two strokes means I'm not as good at fighting as I used to be. I am now medically disabled in both feet and my left hand via numbness and nerve pain, so I suppose I probably can't beat two black belts attacking me simultaneously anymore, but I doubt one black belt could beat me right now even in the medical condition I find myself presently. I find most "black belts" are paper black belts. The two I used to beat 1vs2 were real, but I was 20 years old and training twice as hard as them at the time. I did stalemate a BJJ student again about two months after my second stroke, so that's good too.
Anyway, it takes 6 to 10 years to get a 1st Dan black belt in Isshinryu Karate, at least in a dojo which still follows the real teaching requirements, and that's assuming you attend classes between 3 and 5 times per week.

Sorry to say but some point of your post like saying "trained by ex-marines" gives me red flags here. Marines most likelly know how to shoot some gun. They are not cartoon supermen with insane martial art skills.. Also there are tons of high kick documented that have landed and done its purpouse. Of course you should not kick high if the situation, opponent or your own abilities are not correct on the time. Also there are sports like Ashihara or Kyokushinkai, where head punches are not allowed so people tend to keep their guard down more often, thus creating space for high kicks. Usually "never" is too strong word to use lightly.

@@hiisigobli4612 The marines beat the UFC and ONE champions every couple years in standup and draw with them in grappling. I was trained by the gentleman who founded the Marine Corps Karate program, which later became what it is now. The Chief Instructors int he Marine Corps are 4th Degree Black Belts and above in Karate and other forms of martial arts. They now train Marines to Green Belt level in Basic Training, which is half-way to Black Belt, and they train them to black belt level for special ops.
If you don't believe me, search for it. There are videos on UA-cam. Search for "Arcenio Advincula Kumite". That is a retired Marine teaching the same thing he taught in the Marine Corps as a Close Combat and Weapons of Opportunity instructor. He won a Medal of Valor in Vietnam. He's my Sensei's Sensei.

@@hiisigobli4612 Here. This is Grand Master Advincula teaching MMA via Isshinryu Kumite about 20 years before the UFC or ONE even existed. This is the same thing he taught in t he Marine Corps for 20 years.
