You should animate Robb Starks campaign in the Riverlands and Westerland. from the green Fork and whispering woods, to the buildup of the red wedding, which you already covered
I've heard this theory floating around for a while but I haven't really seen it be covered here on youtube fully, the theory that Bloodraven and the Three-Eyed Crow are different entities entirely
There has to be a reason (IRL) why the War on the Stepstones isnt considered a Blackfire rebellion, I think you may have just hit it on the head. (disclaimer; ik next to nothing about that war, I read the wiki on it for like 4 minutes)
Another paralel between the French at Argincourt and the Tyrells at Storm's End is that the French could not focus their full might on their enemy since the Armagnac and Burgundian factions were in conflict. The Armagnacs ( the French faction who fought the English at Argincourt) didn't receive support from the Duke of Burgundy who was at odds with them and they had to keep an eye out for him and they suspected he was colaborating with the English. Just like the Reach forces are split between fighting the Ironborn under Euron and the Golden Company and some Reach lords might not be trustworthy.
I am once again asking you to animate Sandoq the Shadow's epic stand on the drawbridge of Maegor's Holdfast. Excellent video, especially the historical reference to Agincourt. I wouldn't be opposed to a full length History Haven video
I think Randyll Tarly might betray Mace Tyrell since he has motive and has been acting suspicious. When Stannis had just 5 thousand men besieging Storm's End he advised Renly to quickly crush them and to not ignore the threat of Stannis and his small army. In the last book he dismisses the infamous Golden Company as "adventurers" even though castles are quickly falling to them. Now he may simply think that Stannis is a much more dangerous commander than Connington (which is true), but he also has motive to betray Mace and try to delay the throne's response. Even though he himself has played a prominent part in Tyrell victories he hasn't really received big rewards in lands and tittles like other people and Mace Tyrell constantly takes credit for his victories. His wife is a Florent yet Brightwater Keep was granted to Garlan Tyrell rather to him when the Florents were striped of their castle. And in Robert's Rebellion he was a Targaryen loyalist. He might betray Mace mid battle.
I don't think the Battle of Steel will happen. My theory is that by the time the Tyrells arrive, Tommen will have been killed by the Sand Snakes. With Tommen dead, the Tyrells will have no reason to keep supporting the Lannisters. And considering that Reach lords like Randyll Tarly are Targaryen loyalists, Mace Tyrell doesn't actually have any real command prowess, and that Euron will likely be attacking Oldtown at this point, I think Mace Tyrell will be convinced to bend the knee and join fAegon. Anyways, great video as always.
From what I gathered it spawned from a misunderstanding in the show where Varys was by Danaerys’s side even he was in Westeros at the start of that episode!
considering the War of the Five King is based off the War of the Roses, it would be make sense on the surface for Aegon Sixth to both win and be a blackfyre, he seems to be based off Henry the 7th Tudor, Tudor being a Legitmitized cadet branch of of Lancaster, just like Blackfyre being a legitmitized branch of house Targaryen, plus Aegon Sixith is a originally exile noble claimant landing to reclaim his throne, he could still end of marrying daenerys and unifying the two branches of the family, however this is GRRM we're talking about so this is all most likely a red herring by him
Agincourt... I feel that old George would make reference to that battle - after all it is one of the most famous english battle in western history. Mace Tyrell is going to be suprised. And Lord Tarly might change the sides during the battle.
I think the Golden Company will attack the Rowan forces and lift the seige of Storm's End. They can then claim to have been hired by Stannis (who actually wanted to enlist them anyway) and be allowed to enter the Fortrress. The Golden sigil of the Golden Company and the Field of Gold used by House Baratheon can even aid in this claim. If the people of Storm's End are then massacred by the order of Jon Connington, this could mirror Tywin entering King's Landing at the end of Robert's Rebellion.
Hey I just want to tell you that I love your videos, and it actually made me want to try reading SOIAF again. This time I actually made it past the death of lady! Knowing who dies and who'll live (for now) actually makes reading the books a much more pleasant experience, as I'm not constantly tense while reading it (I'm also far older then the first time which does help). So thank you very much! PS.: I know you mainly do SOIAF stuff, but since you helped me to a good new book series, I found it fitting I'd return the gift. If you haven't already, I'd suggest to you the writings of Terry Pratchett (GNU Terry Pratchett. Speak his name.), in particular the Discworld. It's quite the different beast, far larger even, but personally it's my favourite book series I've read yet. The man also forged his own Starmetal Sword when he was knighted and "hid it somewhere safe". You can't tell me that's not awesome. Absolute legend. Anyhows, just wanted to tell you that as a gift in return, you may do with it what you wish. Once more: Thanks a million for your nice videos!
FYI.: If you were wondering where I am currently, Catelyn wishes to leave the Eyrie for Wintefell as Tyrion has requested the Trail by Combat. Ned Stark just woke up and is Hand again.
you say "history haven" as a joke but it both alliterates well and I know I at least would love to see you animate various historical events in the same style as you do a song of ice and fire (and it'll certainly give you more options for content than george is at the moment)
_The smile remained, transformed into a glittering golden grin. All the skulls were grinning, even Bittersteel's on the tall pike in the center. What does he have to grin about?_
The birthplace of knighthood and chivalry in Westeros was the Vale which was brought along by the Andals when the Falcon Knight conquered the Vale against the Bronze tribes of the first men who were defending it. I think the Reach was defeated or married into by the Andals and their customs much later.
Part of the Volantene Fleet carrying the Golden Company is scattered by a storm in Lys. The last known whereabouts of Edric Storm is Lys after being smuggled out by Davos. Cortnay Penrose died ptotecting Edric and the castle garrison at Storms' End are all fond of him. Perhaps taking Storm's End by guile means producing Edric Storm from Lys as the heir and key to the castle.
My Late Lord Haven, you forget your own work on Quinns video. Isn't Mace the Ace the wises of commanders? Hasn't he been down playing his own ability, appearing as a lackwit, so that when the time arises he shall prove his brilliance? This is the man who beat Robert Baratheon for crying out loud! Great video though, love the historical references!
If Aegon does take Storms end anyone else think sheer bloody rage will bring Robert back to life if nothing else that will confirm Aegon is a Targaryen Me personally I think he’s 99% a Blackfyre Also hope you do a Arianne character video
Depending on the marriages, Aegon VI (Targ or Blackfyre or poowater) and his alliances, his campaign could go in any direction as of now. If he hooks up with Arianne Martell, he'll get Dornish support and would have to placate House Martell by going forthwith to King's Landing in order to properly install himself at the capital. Perhaps Margery. The Tyrell-Lannister alliance is crumbling, Cersei is being Cersei, the Tyrells still have the strongest armies in the realm, and Margery is still (theoretically) a virgin after 3 marriages. It's not hard to imagine her going for number 4. Maybe even Sansa. So, going with the Ashford theory and Littlefinger probably wanting to get his claws in the new King, I can easily see him producing Sansa out of thin air and offering her to Aegon.
Actually why not have a spinoff 'history haven', revolving around events that inspired jrrm about something, or even random similarities. For example, time of troubles has like four or five fake tsars usually emerging from armed banditry, staying pretty much near Moscow and gaining supports from nobles - like Corlys if I'm not mistaken stayed in one of king's landing fake king's court after rebellion stormed away Rhaynera :3
I kinda want the Golden Company to lose, because almost everyone expects them to win, and because I find the idea of them being destined to lose every time they invade to be funny.
@@chaos_knight_xy thisbwas done in the original show too. They made Salladhor Saan and Xaro, two canonically white characters, black. Lyseni erasure is real.
Honestly I doubt the survivors will get slaughtered and I could even see Aegon making a grand gesture out of sparing Mace. Aegon is set up to be a very popular, well-liked guy for Dany to kill and make herself unpopular. Maybe Aegons image will be similar to Robert as a warrior that turns foes into allies. The moment Tommen dies the Tyrells also have no reason to not side with Aegon.
That is a good analogy! Often shitty historians try to tell us that Agincourt is the story of a 15th century wunderwaffen when really it’s the story of an army with zero leadership. Even the best knights can be beaten if they are up against a real true leader.
I also think that the Faith is only siding with Tommen because he’s there only option right now, but Aegon would seem a more appealing king. He was raised in the virtues of the Seven, he wasn’t born from inc*st as far as we and they know, and he’s be a far less controversial king if he plays his cards right. Honestly, I think if Aegon knows or learns about Tommen’s true parentage, he could argue that the boy was an abomination and never had any claim in the first place and that is mother was a wicked s*ccb*s destroying the morality of Westeros through her unquenchable appetite. Is that right? No. But it would do a lot to bring the Faith to his side and religion is a powerful thing to have in your favor. As for the Tyrells, if Mace is captured, maybe Aegon could try and make a deal that if they betray Tommen and join him, he will ensure Margaery’s innocence is assured and they can keep their title and lands.
