I'm runnin about 8-9 sq ft per bird for my egg layers.. That works nice and the birds have a little room to breathe. Yes the chicken tractor changes the game dramatically! I have had so many people come back to me and describe my eggs and how great they are! cheers! Another great video John!

I bought the plans and built it as best I could-not a carpenter. I would like the door frame and door construction clarified. This was the only real problem I had. What goes where - on top or under and how to do the cross braces since it seems to be two different levels.

Yes john you are so right, pastered poultry is far better in taste and heath benafits. And once you try it you will never go back. Its a shame so many people will never under stand the truth. But with APPPA help we will keep trying. Have a great day.

Thanks so much for your video! So, do the chickens go up in a coop at night? We’re in Tennessee and in the spring and fall it can still get cold or even snow here and there. How are they protected from the cold in the tractor?

In the winter I have more protection for my birds. They go into a a coop. Chicken tractors are best used seasonally.

I free range my chickens 365 days a year. Im in Michigan. They are fine even in the snow. The coop is a mobile chicken tractor all year long, but I let them out every morning.

My land has lots of slopes. Will tractors work on ground that isn't flat? Got great grass dark rich soil. My flat ground gets flooded quickly when it rains. Go down real fast though.

Try moving your tractors from bottom to up the valley

How do you keep the predators out of the tractor at night? Don't they just dig under the sides?

I’ve seen some creative solutions online, like slats around the edge that are held in place by bricks. Not a good description, I know, so you may want to look it up online.

Mike Hulme Is that comment the best you can do? I appreciate that he’s taking time to teach us. Yes, there are short videos out there, and you should watch them is you want half the information. Take time to thank someone for doing something that helps you instead of criticizing, you’ll be a happier person and people will like you better.
You know, the stuff your mama taught you.
