21:16 The original third verse of Stan got erased and there was even another verse that wasn't used. Eminem "When we recorded Stan I worked with a couple different engineers but this particular engineer I had never worked with before. While we were recording the third verse of Stan, he started rolling a joint and asked me if I minded if he smoked while we cut. What was I gonna do? Say no? He was already rolling it so I told him “no problem”. Everything was cool and I had gotten all the way to the last 3 lines and I screwed up so all he had to do was punch in my vocals at the end so I could re-do that line and the verse was finished. Back then we were recording on 2 inch tape, so once you recorded over something it’s gone forever. So I’m in the booth waiting and he backs the tape up all the way to the beginning of the verse and punches me in. I realize he’s in the wrong spot and I can’t hear any of my vocals so I start waving my arms and yelling in the mic to try to get his attention. He doesn’t notice so I run into the control room through a cloud of smoke and yell “Yo, I wanted to keep those vocals” he just looked at me and said “My bad man…you wanna hit this?” The first half of the verse was GONE. I re-recorded it but you should have heard the original take that shit was WAY better…oh well!" About the lost verse Eminem said there was a verse where Stan got out of the water. He escaped and came to Eminem's house to kill him and then Eminem had to kill him first but Eminem missed him. Stan was then in the hospital for like three weeks and was pissed off that Eminem didn’t write him get-well cards and shit like that, so he came to kill Eminem again and in the last verse finally Eminem just blew his head off ua-cam.com/video/p_x0KBndWDI/v-deo.html

But Eminem called me from Detroit and he was like, 'Yo, since we have Liz on a couple of these other songs already, what do you think about Pink getting on this record?' I was like, ‘Yo, that's crazy!’ That was such a good call because Pink is not really known for that, but she can deliver that type of record. Conceptually probably his best album, and yes the accents can be annoying (though I have grown to like them), it fits the narrative of Slim being a deranged killer. I have it ranked as my 4th fav album after TES, MMLP, MMLP2
Yeah idk why it’s that low they must have heard the accent and thought it was bad even tho it actually makes the album better and has some of his best verses
Yeah, at least Relapse has a concept that Eminem went all consistently in on to give it it’s own sound. Revival, on the other hand, rehashes sounds from Recovery, MMLP2 and even Relapse and combines the sounds in a way that makes the album sound broken.
Glad you gave Recovery its due. It’s his most complete album. Save for WTP and Bad. This is the most I have agreed with a ranking video of the ones I have watched.

Recovery is definitely underrated. I feel like if it came out in the late 2010s or early 2020s, when there's much more awareness on mental health, it'd be getting more praise than it got in 2010.
I still don't think it beats MMLP2 though.
Relapse at the bottom WTF???!?!?
Once he started off with the worst one u already knew ppl were gonna go off. Lil ppl love that slim shady vibe.
They did it for the clicks. Clever
Relapse is my favorite. Having it at the bottom is blasphemy
I re-recorded it but you should have heard the original take that shit was WAY better…oh well!"
About the lost verse Eminem said there was a verse where Stan got out of the water.
19:21 DJ Khalil who produced the song Won't Back Down, said “Liz Rodriguez from The New Royales was on that hook [originally] because she wrote it along with Erik Alcock. Pink wasn't on it yet. If you hear the version with Liz, it's ridiculous. It's just as good as Pink's version. Liz just has a different tone but she murdered it. Her presence can really carry that record to another level.”
Omg I had to press pause when you said Relapse at 11 so you are telling me that Revival was better 😂😂 I know the comments are going in on this one 😂😂
I had Eminem Show in 8th grade. Classic.
same here
11 RELAPSE ?????? Are you crazy ??? This is a classic
No it's not
AINT gonna lie, y’all gotta re do this
Finally! Thanks guys for the great content as always.
Bro, Revival is one of the worst rap albums ever by a top artist. It's pretty easily worst then everything else by him. Yinz got me hot with that one LMAO
Kamikaze is his most hit or miss album, with some of my favorites like Lucky You and some not so great ones but still that is some crazy rankings there
To not have the top 3 as
1.marshall Mathers LP
2. Slim shady lp
3. Eminem show
Is blasphemy!
DID YOU JUST SAY MMLP2 IS BETTER THAN SLIM SHADY LP 💀💀💀💀💀💀
He’s a piss taker clearly doing it for clicks. Slim shady LP is his best album
Finally the video I was waiting for. As usual, Culturalist Theory loves being controversial. 🤣 Here’s my list:
11. Revival
10. Music to be Murdered by
9. Encore
8. Kamikaze
7. Recovery
6. MMLP2
5. The Eminem Show
4. Infinite
3. Relapse
2. MMLP
1. SSLP
Relapse at the bottom is crazy
I have MMLP, Eminem Show, MTBMB A and B, Recovery and MMLP2 but that is just my opinion
Culturalist Theory, thank you for putting my personal favorite Eminem album, 22:57 , as the best album from the Detroit legend.
While The Marshall Mathers LP put Eminem on the mainstream map, 22:57 is the album that made me a fan of Slim Shady. 😊
This is the wildest Em ranking I’ve ever seen. I respect that, but heavy disagree .
My Ranking:
1. The Marshall Mathers LP - 10/10
2. The Eminem Show - 9/10
3. The Slim Shady LP - 8/10
4. Relapse - 7/10
5. The Marshall Mathers LP2 - 7/10
6. Recovery - 6/10
7. Music To Be Murdered By - 5/10
8. Kamikaze - 5/10
9. Music To Be Murdered By - Side B - 4/10
10. Encore - 4/10
11. Revival - 3/10
Em's discog is very inconsistent but his highs are def really high
Interesting list.
I think MMLP2 should be at the bottom but besides that this list is probably the closest to what it should be!
@@gulfcoastballa MMLP2 is a great album.
@@ZachTV18 I didn't like it like that but I'm not gonna debate it either. It's way more wrong with his list lol
@gulfcoastballa Oh okay.
Relapse at 11 is laughable.
1. The Eminem Show
2. The MMLP
3. The SSLP
4. Recovery
5. MMLP2
6. MTBMB
7. Encore
8. Relapse
9. Revival
10. Kamikaze (too short)
Kamikaze at number 5 and we good
@hugotendam5349 Kamikaze is my least favorite because it only has 11 songs. It's mostly a response album.
@@ZachTV18I get you and how people think about it, but I love the quality of most songs, except the ones with that female singer on it.
@@hugotendam5349 Have you seen my Eminem collection videos?
First video ever seeing from you and I love the old school 106&Park screen you has up there 🎉
Revival is hands down his worst project lol I’m so confused by this ranking
4:27 I listen to all those songs all the time
I personally haven’t liked a Em album since The Eminem show. No way would I put MMLP2 or Recovery over SSLP. MMLP is easily his best. SSLP is second and then The Eminem Show.
Amityville slaps. Come on now
Bizarre is kinda wack
@@Planet_Caravan_94 hahah he's Hella wack. But the song is still hot
Probably your weakest list, respectfully lol slim shady LP IS EMS BEST ALBUM BRUH
24:32 Dina Rae said that Mariah Carey originally featured on the song Superman but then Mariah Carey and Eminem ended up having issues with each other. Eminem got Dina Rae to record on it instead and Mariah Carey's vocals were used as a reference for Dina Rae and Eminem still mentions Mariah Carey on the song ua-cam.com/video/YapYqv39EOQ/v-deo.html (At 11:40 mark
Theres NO WAY Revival is better than ANY of the albums on this list
I agree with the top 5 but the list from 6 to 12 it's miss😂😂😂😂 but appreciate the ur work
As soon as I saw Relapse in last place I was like "woah, that's... Bold" and as I expected the comments are on y'all head for that lol. Personally I have MMLP as my no. 1. Don't get it twisted tho, TES is not that far off, it's really close, because its also a really good album. Same for SSLP. My top 3 is basic af but oh well 🤷
Relapse is Em's 4th best album.
Saw Relapse in last and automatically shut the video off.
Relapse is 100% better than Revival, Encore and I could even argue TES tbh. But 100% better than Revival. There is nothing memorable about that album other than how unmemorable it was.
What’s really memorable is the late night cold sweats you get after you hear “I rush in, never rushed in, disgustin’” in your dreams
1. The Eminem Show
2. The Marshall Mathers LP
3. Recovery
4. The Slim Shady LP
5. The Marshall Mathers LP 2
6. Infinite
7. Encore
8. Music to Be Murdered By
9. Relapse
10. Revival
11. Kamikaze
Great list
@ZachTV18 thanks. Been a huge Em fan since I was young.
@@brandonsmith5974 You should watch my Eminem collection videos.
Horrible rating. You lost your mind putting MMLP2 and Recovery that high. And relapse is 3rd best.
@mikesmith2924 Relapse has lower sales than MMLP2 and Recovery and Relapse has been out longer.
Amityville is amazing
Dude how in the world do you say Relapse is the worst. 46 seconds in and I had to comment. I might just stop watching already. You must not have listened to it more than once.
Bro Relapse on Top 5
Top 4
@@lrdqs 1
Top 3.
Glad you gave Recovery its due. It’s his most complete album. Save for WTP and Bad. This is the most I have agreed with a ranking video of the ones I have watched.
Stopped watching this video as soon as he said Relapse was Eminems worst album. Relapse refill is a top four album in his discography. IMO.
1. The Eminem Show
2. MMLP
3. Relapse + refill
4. Slim Shady LP
5. Recovery
6. MMLP2 + bonus tracks
7. MTBMB (both sides)
8. Encore
9. Revival
10. Kamikaze
11. Infinite
The top 4 are classics. If you disagree you are wrong. 😊
