Snoop is one of the most interesting rappers of all time. His charisma, personality and unique voice gives him such a unique edge especially in the beginning with how he was introduced to the game by Dr Dre. He is proof you don’t to be super lyrical to make great music and leave a stamp and mark on music. There are other ingredients that are important to be a rap legend. When he really pushes himself to go in lyrically he kills it like on “think about it” and “the one and only” (and many other songs) but he doesn’t do that all time which is kinda sad. I’m glad he’s still rapping. Hip hop needs to see longevity is possible.
Very fun album. If Pharrell gave these songs and production to a viable r&b artist at the time, I think it wouldve been more special. Snoop did his thing tho. Bush and that ep Snoop did with Dam-Funk are both good listens.

Midnight Love might be a top 20-25 song in Snoop's catalogue. However, it never got an official release and never made it to streaming, so it gets forgotten about. I'm born and raised in L.A. In 96-97, that song was in daytime rotation, despite never officially being released. That's how good it is. Eastside Party with Nate Dogg is better than damn near everything from Tha Doggfather. You must be on something. Top Dogg is so half**(. Trust Me and B*&& Please are the only great songs on there. The rest is no limit bs and other weak s&*&&. R&G is pop bs. Paid Da Cost is pop bs.
Certainly in the minority or quite possibly alone on this take, “Tha Doggfather” is my FAVORITE album from this man. “Doggystyle” was a game changer, but was pretty identical to “The Chronic” and could’ve served as Disc 2 were it a double album.
Paid Tha Cost will always be my favorite because it practically grew up with it, it's got a bunch of awesome features, a couple of unhinged Jelly Roll beats, and because Snoop rapping over Preemo sampling Batman is fucking legendary.
As a huge Snoop fan this list is mostly correct, you guys did R&G and Da Game way tooo nicely haha Blue Carpet, BODR, Neva Left are way beget imo. Also that DILIH remix had a banger diss to R. Kelly
1. Doggystyle 2. Last Meal 3. Paid The Cost 4. RnG 5. Blue Carpet 6. Ego Trippin Paid The Cost was Snoop at his most technical, he was really pushing the pen. The production was snoopy as usually, with the usual hit or miss, but every verse was top notch. The Last Meal is sonically superior to Doggystyle, but there is no substituting the vibe of his debut. RNG is just a sonic master piece. No limit too dogg could have been snoops best, if alot of those fillers were cut. P really could have had more snoop and no limit artist features replace a few duds on their.
Snoop went on a hell of a run staring with Top Dogg, Last Meal, Paid the Cost, R&G, and Blue Carpet Treatment. Ego Trippin was the first one I wasn't feeling.
The snoop Dogg albums that I have are malice & wonderland, the doggumentary, and doggystyle I like all 3 albums I need to hear more snoop Dogg albums I'm a fan of him
@@dianevrules wrong. The Battlecat and Soopafly produced tracks are excellent and vintage Snoop. Hit-Boy and Hi-Tek supplied him wuth some heat too, along with whoever was ghost writing on the project. Trim a little fat, and it's a very good 4 mic (The Source rating) album.
Doggystyle really wasn't that bad- infact I really liked it and still check for it from time to time till this day. I think there were a lot of distractions promotionally (Pac death, Dre leaving, Suge going prison) and wasn't it released the same week as Makaveli? I'm sure that would have done it no favours at all
Check out the original version of the song Gangsta Ride from the No Limit Top Dogg album. This original version features Daz Dillinger and Snoop Dogg disses Lil' C Style & Swoop G but the album version is different with Silkk The Shocker replacing Daz Dillinger and a different verse by Snoop Dogg. It probably got changed because Master P didn't want Snoop Dogg dissing Death Row or it's artists ua-cam.com/video/JqkSUmgX7Cs/v-deo.html
I'm not really mad at this list. Good mix, in the top 10, of Snoop's early work and some of his late-career projects. Tha Last Meal (2000) 1. Doggystyle (1993)
I didn't have it in my top 5, but Paid Da Cost 2 Be Da Boss, is a very strong album. Snoop's first time working with both The Neptunes and Dj Premier. Outside about 3 songs I play everything on that album, especially Ballin featuring The Dramatics and Long Beach 2 Brick City with Redman & Nate Dogg 🔥 🔥 🔥
Decent ranking, you included Bush but missed the Dam Funk album 7 Days of Funk? I thought No Limit Topp Dogg was better the Last meal, and can actually challenge Doggystyle for his best album ever, it sold great, re-united w/ Dre, had a classic cover (Snoopafella), some story tracks (in love w/ a Thug, G Bedtime Stories), great solo tracks, posse tracks, more diverse but still classic production
Basically, all of Daz's beats on AEOM? 🤔🤔🤔. I know Got My Mind Made Up was supposed to be for a Dogg Pound album, but ur right. I think those other beats Daz did were all meant for Snoop.
It’s hard for me to agree or disagree with these rankings outside of Doggystyle cause none of them come even close. Doggystyle is his only classic but it remains one of my top 10 albums ever.

Doggystyle, Top Dogg, Paid Da Cost To Be Da Boss, R&G & Blue Carpet Treatment for my top5
You must be on something. Top Dogg is so half**(. Trust Me and B*&& Please are the only great songs on there. The rest is no limit bs and other weak s&*&&. R&G is pop bs. Paid Da Cost is pop bs.
Although Tha Last Meal was my personal favourite album of his, this top 3 is accurate 👏🏽
🫡
The 7 days of funk album was so goof
Certainly in the minority or quite possibly alone on this take, “Tha Doggfather” is my FAVORITE album from this man. “Doggystyle” was a game changer, but was pretty identical to “The Chronic” and could’ve served as Disc 2 were it a double album.
Interesting perspective. Preciate you tappin
It's you and me my G, love that album 🔥
@@posajnejkwahb Dope! So YOU'RE the other guy!
It’s dope
Ha! My top 3 made it. And now that I think about it. The Last Meal was better than R&G….that shot was for Kellz 😂
An underrated Snoop album is with Nate Dogg and Warren G 213 Tha Hard Way came out 2004
Facts
When Doggfather dropped I hated the album. years later I grew to love it, thats crazy yall put it at 17. Still loved the ranking you did
As usual, excellent work and list.
Preciate it bro!
Paid Tha Cost will always be my favorite because it practically grew up with it, it's got a bunch of awesome features, a couple of unhinged Jelly Roll beats, and because Snoop rapping over Preemo sampling Batman is fucking legendary.
Can you do De La Soul Ranked Albums next Tuesday
I 2nd this 👍
The Last Meal is my favorite Snoop album
Banger
As a huge Snoop fan this list is mostly correct, you guys did R&G and Da Game way tooo nicely haha Blue Carpet, BODR, Neva Left are way beget imo.
Also that DILIH remix had a banger diss to R. Kelly
1. Doggystyle
2. Last Meal
3. Paid The Cost
4. RnG
5. Blue Carpet
6. Ego Trippin
Paid The Cost was Snoop at his most technical, he was really pushing the pen.
👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Bacc on Death Row is very good! Daddy is my jam right now, but the rest go hard as well.
Awesome channel
Thank you 🙏🏽
Yeeeaa Tha Last Meal!! I don't have the nostalgia for Doggystyle so Tha last meal is actually my favorite Snoop album
🔥🔥🔥
Snoop went on a hell of a run staring with Top Dogg, Last Meal, Paid the Cost, R&G, and Blue Carpet Treatment. Ego Trippin was the first one I wasn't feeling.
That first No Limit Album was 🔥🔥🔥
Ego Trippin is the only Snoop Dogg Album I've ever bought. Its something about it that i still Love to this day.....TO THIS DAY ‼️
The snoop Dogg albums that I have are malice & wonderland, the doggumentary, and doggystyle I like all 3 albums I need to hear more snoop Dogg albums I'm a fan of him
The Doggfather has some good jams!
If my memory serves me that Jay Z verse on Drop it like it's hot diss was towards R Kelly for the best of both words tour
Yessir!
Saying Doggfather is a bad album is just the thing to say. It is not a bad album at all.
Now y'all know I was gonna leave a comment about that shot hov threw at the pied Piper 👑 on that drop it like it's hot remix..
Lol. 🎯
You guys are doing a great job with these lists. Keep pushing.
Preciate that Stephen!
I would love to see a Make it a Classic short on Tha Last Meal
Doggystyle, Tha Last Meal, BODR my Top 3
BODR is terrible
@@dianevrules wrong. The Battlecat and Soopafly produced tracks are excellent and vintage Snoop. Hit-Boy and Hi-Tek supplied him wuth some heat too, along with whoever was ghost writing on the project. Trim a little fat, and it's a very good 4 mic (The Source rating) album.
I agree. Top 3.
@MichaelBrown-ti1un it's good but it's not top3 or even 5
The doggfather got a few bangers. Blueberry goes hard. And tray dee snaps on downtown assassins
Snoop has Like 32 albums
Doggystyle really wasn't that bad- infact I really liked it and still check for it from time to time till this day. I think there were a lot of distractions promotionally (Pac death, Dre leaving, Suge going prison) and wasn't it released the same week as Makaveli? I'm sure that would have done it no favours at all
Snoop dogg is the Goat he has no bad albums I can listen to all of his albums back to back no skips
The Daz featured version hit way harder. Silkk didn't fit on that track at all.
Damn. Good lookin
Solid list. Sold not told is my personal favorite.
Sold not Told gets hated on too much!
I'm not really mad at this list. Good mix, in the top 10, of Snoop's early work and some of his late-career projects. I'm not as high as you are on Ego Trippin, because I remember that album just being all over the place, even tho I loved Sexual Eruption and Life of the Party. I've got albums like Tha Doggfather and Bacc on Death Row ahead of that one. Overall, this list is cool tho. My top 5 Snoop Dogg albums:
1. Doggystyle
2. Rhythm & Gangsta
3. NL Top Dogg
4. Tha Last Meal
5. Blue Carpet Treatment
Respect. Preciate you checkin in
Here's my top 10 cause I stopped with Snoop around 2011.. But got into B.O.D.R. album after he became owner of Death Row..
10. Malice N Wonderland (2009)
9. Rhythm & Gangsta (2004)
8. The Game is to be Sold Not to be Told (1998)
7. B.O.D.R (2022)
6. Paid Cost to be The Boss (2002)
5. The Blue Carpet Treatment (2006)
4. Tha Doggfather (1996)
3. No Limit Top Dogg (1999)
2. Tha Last Meal (2000)
@@MichaelBrown-ti1un Got it for Christmas in 2002 7th grade
So many classic albums I'd trade BODR and Paid Cost to be Boss respectfully
Tha Doggfather is a certified classic and one of snoops best albums.
The doggfather is my favorite album from snoop dogg, I love it cause it's so different and memorable.
5-6 tracks on All Eyez On Me was supposed to be on Tha Doggfather
Basically, all of Daz's beats on AEOM? 🤔🤔🤔. I know Got My Mind Made Up was supposed to be for a Dogg Pound album, but ur right. I think those other beats Daz did were all meant for Snoop.
@@MichaelBrown-ti1un see I forgot Daz did like half of the album.. Knowledge my brother 💯
Bush and dog father definitely had bangers
I’m SCARED to even watch this after the Ice Cube video y’all Probably got Ego Trippin top 5-10 😂
Yep, they ranked Ego Trippin number 4 lool
I’ve never heard of some of these albums bush, never left lol
Sleepers. Check em out
It’s hard for me to agree or disagree with these rankings outside of Doggystyle cause none of them come even close. Doggystyle is his only classic but it remains one of my top 10 albums ever.
Anyone here after Missionary dropped? Where does that rank on your list?
The LAST MEAL...my fav Snoop album. CLASSIC!!!!
Nawl they got this completely wrong
Top 5:
1. DoggyStyle
2. Blue Carpet Treatment
3. R&G
4. Ego Trippin
5. No Limit Top Dogg
Can u do eminem discraphgray ranking next please
Working on that as we speak
@@CulturalistTheory alright cool
The only snoop Dogg's albums I like is the ones from death row and no limit
Only listened to 2 Snoop albums ever. Cant believe he has 19
No Limit Top Dogg is one Snoop's underrated projects.
Tha Last Meal and The Blue Carpet Treatment are my top favorites
