Y'all need to stop hating on Denver. Every city has their own struggle. I love to see brothers and sisters rise above it. Never forget where you come from and rep your city pridefully. My city of Chicago definitely helped me learn to persevere in a world full of player haters.

Real CO Heads know about this infamous Quik story haha! Shoutout to you for breaking this down family! Just subscribed.
This is Sean Cowans also known as OG Glide, the producer thanks for the shout out. My influence of doing our style was Mantronix, and Dr Dre, and I had a lot of style came from “SKA” music. Really appreciate it. If you have any questions hit me up..Thanks!!
BTW i think the best one i produced was Eastbound. Every song was pretty good..i think
MileHigh salute🪖
@tlemgr i believe the rapper in that hat took over the first rapper because he joined the army? Can’t remember off the top. But when i first Mantronix performed here in Denver he was doing music by himself. I told myself i have to do that. The first song we did 1985 I used the bassline from the song called Ghost town by the ska group The specials check it out then you see how i got my music style.
co/ native can't wait for your new gigs. keep it up.
MILE HIGH SALUTE OG!!! Appreciate you tapping in and all the work u did over the years to put the town on the map. Much L&R!

As a 90’s cat out of OkC, all we heard was Houston Rapp and Westcoast. I’m glad this brother made a history video of local rappers from his city. Back then in the great 90’s, it was hard to get exposure if you’re not from the West or East. Great video bro. Salute!!!
No doubt. Super different grind back then. I use to be up on that Buccet Loc and 918 back in the day out OKC... they went hard.
@@GoalGetta oh fosho. I tell these youngsters today, that a lot of their favorite rappers would not have made it back then. Because you had to go to the store and buy your favorite rapper’s music. There wasn’t no internet. And 90% of today’s rappers music would not sell in stores. No fucking way, homie
Basically you're pointing out that there is no more independent non-commercial sections on any website or applications today and people like UA-cam and fans of UA-cam or Facebook don't understand it's still a commercial platform and when you partner with the commercial platform you're no longer gangster

The song wasn't bad at all but with Colorado not having any rappers that went nationwide at the time, Quik mentioning anyone specifically would have given them fame off his name, if he even heard the song. Regardless he didn't take the bait, though. Been to Denver once back in 2000, it was a fucking awesome town. I love Colorado.
Folks will never understand how good it was to grow up in the Mile High in the 90's. Denver goes just as hard, if not harder than any other city on the map. How they diss Quick , sounding like they from LA 😂
What they spose to sound like? Denver is enriched in westcoast influence
@@GoalGetta so who was rappin first ? LA or Denver ? Cause we know both was influenced by NY 🤷🏾♂️….so yea who started rappin first , and then you tell me what they supposed to sound like
@@ShaSun-qm8br I think you answered your own question with that reply. If they crips and rappin, they definitely influenced from the west. So I would expect them to sound Westcoast
@@GoalGetta Denver a distance away from LA …..it’s technically the Midwest ….I would think in the beginning of their early days, they would’ve established their own sound that’s all

Wow, I remember this happening that very day this happened. I was there visiting my girlfriend at that time. She stayed on the east side of Denver and yes, Bloods & Crips was just like LA back in the 90s . so don’t get it twisted. I was there when this shooting happened. I remember the Hispanic bloods. Talking mess as we was walking in. Spinz records was owned by some crips back then. We had to get down on the floor. Dude got shot in the arm. They was bussing like 5 to 6 shots at least. Brotha Lyng hung abulm had dropped that day. Season of the Sicness.. it took forever for the paramedics to arrive. Thought dude was gonna bleed to death. But he was ok. They took off running on foot. Shit was crazy. But I love my second my Denver was my old stomping grounds.
