I love Beam products, especially Knob Creek 120 proof, but I’ve never come across a Booker’s that really blew me away. I’ve had three bottles of the OF SBBS and every single one of them has been nothing short of amazing. So, obviously going with OF on this one!🥃
I just scored 3 bottles of OF SB 131 proof Burris store pick in SC at 79$ each and sheeeeesh it’s hot and smooth definitely glad I love cigars to handle this 😂
Recently discovered the Old Forester line. I picked up an Old Forester 86 earlier this year. That was nice. So shortly thereafter I picked up the OF 100. Even better! Then one of my cousins turned me on to higher proofs. The only higer proof bottle I had drank on a regular basis was Jack Daniel's Single Barrel. And I very much enjoy that. Some time earlier this year I picked up Wild Turkey Rare Breed. Loved it! Kept hearing about Old Forester 1920. Finally purchased a bottle during the summer. WOW. Delicious. Need to pick up another one soon. Went into my favorite local store in October and they had several bottles of their store pick Old Forester Single Barrel for $80. It's the most I've yet to spend on a single bottle. But based on my past experiences with the rest of the Old Forester that I have tried I decided to splurge and picked up two bottles of it. Haven't opened it yet. Maybe on New Year's Eve?
Just picked up my first 2 OF Single barrels yesterday. I'll have to try this blind. Also you should try blinding The OF vs JD barrel proof. Battle of the Brown-Formans.
Never seen the Bookers but found the OF store pick in a local Co-op owned liquor store for their 100th birthday celebration . Picked up 3 simply because they are extremely rare. where I am.
Haven't tried either one, never even seen an OF BP in NoCal. And the Bookers here is now $100+ when you do find it. No thanks, KC BP 120 is still easily available and half the price $44, and so is 1792 FP $45. Heck, even ECBP is more available and $70. Cheers!
@@100puremustard5 The Indian owned liquor stores are where I found my $40 Russell's Single Barrel Bourbon and Rye when it's $60 most everywhere else. Also got 99 cent Wild Turkey 101 minis, way cheaper than buying a regular bottle. lol
I agree on the Knob Creek Single Barrel 120 proofers. I'll take that all day over the impossible to find and high/overpriced Bookers and OFSBBP. I'm in the Chicago area, I can find the Knob Single Barrel but I never see that 1792 full proof. The one time I did see it, it was more like $70. And so I stick mostly with the Knob and Rare Breed for higher proof. I recently picked up a Larceny barrel Proof 123.8 proof for $60. Not a bourbon, but pretty gosh darned good, I bought a JP Wiser's 23 year old 128.6 proof Canadian whiskey for $80. I'm not typically a Canadian whiskey fan, but that one is an exception.
I want to see something different on this channel. Like top line shelf whiskey bourbons. A lineup of Russell’s 13, Old Fitz , Stagg Jr and so forth. See who’s your #1 with your best of the best higher end bottles.
As OF doesn’t mention age statement and has less transparency i consider booker’s with age statement and taste wise as well a winner . Booker is gone up in price no doubt in that but in battle betn OF and booker, booker is winner in my list.
I've only ever had one of each, but I'd rather have the OFSB for a fairer price and consistency, rather than pay over 100 bones and have the batch tweak not hit (or not hit as well as the previous batch).

Well I just bought both and I haven’t tried them yet so I’m guessing the old Forster
Both - You should, buy both
Old Forester is excellent
Head heard Bookers is hit and miss - big fan of OF in general, though I have not found any of the SiBs yet…
I am going to go with Old Forester
Question: if someone were to buy allocated whiskey on the internet paying secondary; which site(s) would you recommend?
I’ve had good luck with Sipwhiskey.

If you have access to a military installation, bookers is always at about $70
92 at my Class Six

Did bookers need to be batched? How about the doesn’t hut my wallet batch? From my understanding they used to just sit on the shelf.
thanks for comparing. helps make buying one easier. cheers
So glad you got lemon out of that booker’s because I got citrus when I opened it as well. But when I revisit it I can’t find it any longer.
Old Forester
I can’t find a retail OFSB in CA to save my life. Everyone wants $200+ 🤷♂️
Bookers is 90, worth it?
I guess beam...?.?
I picked up both of these bottles from Kroger for $75 each. OFSB was fantastic. Haven’t tried the Booker’s yet!
Which state are you in where these are avail? Thank you

OF all the way IMO. I think Bookers in my area is over priced at $130-135 a bottle. No way.

I'm in Northern California too, where are you getting those prices? I'm paying slightly more, but your source seems better.
@@XtopherMartin Sonoma and Santa Rosa, many of the Indian owned Liquor stores have dusty bottles, especially in the bad neighborhoods

He’s in VA so that’s basically impossible to ask of him.
@@johnwill7962 not really John. He has some awesome selections! Trust me
Of course old Forester won. Brown Forman products are superior 😉

Old forester all day long
Holy crap Dave,, just talked about the old forester SB
Old Forester!
Just got a bottle of OF SiB. Very happy with the results.
I’m going OF! Hope I’m right.
OF SB is simply amazing.
I've picked up a "Master Distiller Select" OF SB at Total Wine. Other than that, I've also only seen store picks.
OF SiB isn't nearly as accessible as Booker's.
I've only ever had one of each, but I'd rather have the OFSB for a fairer price and consistency, rather than pay over 100 bones and have the batch tweak not hit (or not hit as well as the previous batch).
Not watching yet, but OF SB BP for the win!
OF SB for the win!
Old Forester all day long; for me that Brown Foreman profile just hits like no other.
Still have my Bardstown batch that I’m nursing. Waiting for a Bookers to have a more berry flavor to pair w the nuttiness.
I’d love to try both of these if I could fine them…
OF or unsub.
This guy lol
