Some relaxing micro missions before we continue the macro mission slog. I will say now that the order in which you do Dominion Space or Skygeirr doesn't really matter. There are pretty small changes based on which you do second, and none of them are remotely as interesting as the Char/Kaldir changes. Splitter Banes: Unchanged (though they are significantly stronger when you give them shredding bile since the baneling spawns synergize amazingly with it) Hunter Banes: Cooldown added to jump. Attempts to jump behind the target instead of in front of them (Not only does this make them a bit more reliable at hitting running targets, but it lets them destroy repairing SCVs behind walls and planetaries) In general, hunter banes are now a pretty massive damage increase since they'll detonate in the center of the enemy masses. But splitter banes can coat an entire army with -3 armor and deal a lot more brute force damage because of it, especially against non-light enemies. (Not to mention the durability, which psi storm shows off a lot better than colossi). A much more interesting choice, imo. With Friends Like These 1. Hyperion is energy-based instead of cooldown-based 2. Mira has HH Battlecruisers and Wraiths 3. Pirate EMP reward nerfed to slow attack+move speed instead of stun. 4. Space Station heal removed 3, 4 were Grant's designs. I might end up doing the same thing here as I did with Back in the Saddle, where the healing pickups only restore some of your hp but all of your energy. Again, I'm not a big fan of HotS micro missions compared to the WoL ones, as in HotS it's "ok you have 1 op unit go win the mission." But at the end of the day that's more or less the core of the mission, and I don't want to overwrite that. Can't even stutter step with the Hyperion, smh. Tac fighter retreat micro, while cool the first time, gets old and finicky very fast. I'm not upset with this mission, though. It's intended to be a bit of a break, either before Korhal or before Skygeirr. (I also had to remake the HH units from scratch to get them in this, which is why you can see they aren't perfect recreations)
Also worth noting: The baneling spawns are unchanged but the normal baneling’s damage was nerfed. So proportionally, the Splitterlings are a bigger damage increase than in the regular campaign
Question: Would it be hard to make it so you can give the Allied ships orders, like build up 2 waves, then send them, make the waves spawn faster, but with less units, like instead of 5, only 3 but sent out at shorter intervals, or even have them help the pirate fight as a way to give the player a little more control to either play really smart, or even just make a really big clash
to go remove the "ok you have 1 op unit go win the mission" part, but without changing the entire mission completely, you could make the player have control of the tac fighters. nerf hyperion, buff fighter, but leaving the hyperion the main weight carrier. like this, you have more to think about, but not to an extreme degree, as the tac fighters are infinitly spawing and free, but you cannot even send them to die likein the normal campaign, as the hyperion cannot win without them.
The splitter were still the most interesting, but let's face it: having the baneling jumps behind the enemy and explode is way more fun to look imo, and somehow i knew grant would choose those. Also, could you tell us about the chanes in Kaldir and Zerus if they are the last planet? i'm really curious now
@@andrewgreeb916 i think sniper is a bit much, but yeah, they became stronger, which isn't saying much since the default version is quite bad vs anything that moves
8:28 Grant toe hurts because of barometric pressure! When your toe healed, it healed in such a way that the cartiledge of your joints is thinner than normal. Whenever it rains, the air pressure reduces noticeably, but the pressure in your body, including the pressure of the fluids in your joints, remain the same. This means that your joints swell when the air pressure drops, and this swelling is painful in the weaker joints of your toes. This is actually where the saying "there's a storm coming, I can feel it in my bones" comes from. Old people also experience these weaker joints, and so for thousands of years people always knew that old people felt pain in their joints before big rainstorms, but they could never tell why that was. It's not something to worry about, although it might become worse with age.
Accurate. Normally here I'd offer suggestions on ways to reduce the issue but I know of sadly few ways to help heal cartilage. It is very slow growing tissue with an abnormally absent healing/regeneration response so it is hard to actually do anything with. My Grandmother's arthritis was improved by a magnetic bracelet that she wore but I'm honestly not completely certain what about that was working. My best guess is that, now that I have learned "Chi Theory" from acupuncture which helped me in my recovery, that since bioelectric currents are integral to the continued functioning of cells, the magnetic field helps to compress the tissue slightly when it flares up (which causes a flood of fluid and consequently ions) preventing the painful stretching of the joint. To be honest though, it is a poorly understood treatment option that just kind of works so people keep using it
@@merikmalhads1676 Could just be that the cold metal chilled the swelling. Thank you for explaining the phenomenon (: Tbh I don't believe in energy healing, but it wouldn't surprise me if cooling the offending body part would help, since it generally helps with swelling, too.
@@forge16hanadamaintenancedr43 That would cause other issues (I.E. pressure on the veins and tissues) that wouldn't relaly increase comfort. The best solution is heat, which would make the joints less stiff and make the bulging less painful.
I firmly believe that Grant's words, "I don't think Rhyme could've done too much to them," rippled backwards in time and actually caused Rhyme to add that High Templar with Psionic Storm.
If it makes you feel better, the Tac fighters *could* be remote controlled, and they are merely talking about leaving their control station for a drink.
Grant: "Looks like the lives of Mira's mercenaries are worth way more that the lives of our soldiers. That's just wrong." Also Grant, in The Moebius Factor mercenaries only: "Sorry, if you wanted me to save you, you should have been a mercenary."
16:04, the moment that I almost laughed way too hard because Grant went from "I don't think he could have changed too much to OMG THEY HAVE STORMS" in a half a second
It was the best, and perfectly timed as usual. "I don't think Rhyme - who specializes in making things harder at a professional level - could make this harder." Followed immediately by the change Rhyme implemented to make it harder xD
"What a weird side to jump on..." Did Rhyme intentionally make it so the hunter banes jump to the opposite side of the target to get more enemies behind the first AND to better hit fleeing enemies??? Genius.
The bases might be automatic, but the tac fighters could be remote controlled drones. It's honestly the only way to make sense as to how you can even have so many of them fly out and get destroyed without you running out of pilots - and also why there's a cap as to how many you can have at once. The upgrade simply means installing more drone pilot seats in the control room. Then again, the tac fighter portrait in the editor has the pilot wearing breathing gear, so it's possibly just a case of "Plot holes? In my HOTS?"
Hunter Bane jump also leads the Baneling to the backside of the unit, so even if the AI micros well on higher difficultues, they still have a great chance of exploding. Also has a side benefit of reaching repairing SCVs easier. I guess that's what the Hunter Baneling should have been.
Dude, I cannot believe that after all these years and all these play throughs you still make this seem fun, new and exciting 10/10 thanks and keep it up
Grant: ”Isn’t it strange that the mission has you throw your soldiers into a blender but Mira doesn’t? Kinda whacky” Also Grant: *Literally throws his fighters at mines for the sole purpose of exploding as meatshields instead of just dodging the mines himself*
That Hunter Baneling is for sure worth looking into just for the changes, we know how splitter banes work, and those might be worse versions anyway. I am excited to see what the jumps could do for breaking open fortified positions in The Reckoning. And, the armor reduction could even be useful with the backline availability the banes now offer.
Dude! 17:59 yo that actually would be a great idea for a WoL mod, make the hercules able to land so they act as a drop off point for mineral and gas. someone already made them mobile barracks, pretty sure this could also be done extra points if the person making this mod also place some smaller mineral fields spread around the map, so it'd make this hercules more useful
I wish there were more RTS games with more realistic logistics and resource transportation. Where the builders have to move the resources to the place being built for example.
Old injuries hurting around joints during rain is unfortunately very normal. It has something to do with the air pressure dropping during storms, causing gasses in your joints to expand and mess with the scar tissue (it's the same reason people with arthritis day their joints hurt before a storm). Nothing to worry about, but will probably never go away. Speaking from experience.
Old injuries or fractures aching during rain is perfectly normal if I recall correctly and connected to the change in humidity (and how it affects our soft tissue). It's a normal thing that's just now felt because the area around the old injury is extra sensitive if I recall correctly: :). Basically, it'll not go away probably but should be perfectly fine.
Looks like the jumping banes are also jumping to the far side of their target, instead of the close side, so units moving away from them probably need to be much faster to avoid them.
It seemed like the hunter banes were jumping behind their target, which would also make them better since if they jump at the front unit they'll land in the middle of the pack rather than just on the front unit. Makes for some weird baneling vs planetary shenanigans though.
I think the reason they push for Mira’s stuff as being all automated is more to validate why the random mercenary apparently has the political influence to field entire personal shipyards and starports. She doesn’t have the man power, but funded automated ones! Yeeaaahhhh!
I would maybe add some raven's with their interference matrix and anti-armour missile and maybe a point defence drone used at the mercenary space station

8:30 - we all know you messed with Toecutter from Mad Max... On a more serious note, probably your tendons and joints did not heal fully. When bad weather comes, air pressure drops, tissues swell and they'll apply increased pressure on your joints, while tendonds, muscles and joints jist become even stiffer.
