I also personally believe that going into someone's home and ACCEPTING the love that is on offer is a huge step in recovery. My experience is that I never felt deserving of someone cooking for me, feeding me and allowing me to receive energy.
For me, really leaning into my feminine energy helped a ton with this. The feminine energy IS the energy of receptivity. In the physical embodiment it's the woman who receives and opens up in intimacy. So as we tap into being more in this energy it can help us say yes to food more and more.
Chloe, can you please revisit an Ex-Vegan you interviewed in August 2021 by the name of Juliette Autumn. Over the past year she has slowly removed more and more animal sourced foods from her diet, has adopted a Vegan Keto diet and changed her name to 'Plant-Based Poser'.
I started watching her channel not that long ago I like her but issue really fully vegan? I thought I've seen her say that she still eats animal foods once in awhile though no?
Well, this video came at a very appropriate time. Just two days ago, my oldest brother invited us over to his family's place to cook and share dinner with us. It wasn't necessarily just the type and quality of the food being served that put me off, but also the timing; it was a very early dinner by my standards, and so I sat there with a very sad and uneaten steak on my plate while everybody else ate to their content, because I wouldn't eat at a certain time. Part of that was driven by disordered eating behaviour, yes -- but part of it was also legitimately because I knew it would mess up my digestion if I ate a full meal at an hour to which my system is not accustomed to processing that amount of food. I felt really bad about it. Still do. But I didn't want to end up with a sour stomach for the next several hours either. I'm not sure how else I could have handled it...
I think she's talking to you...maybe listen and reflect a bit more. Would it really 'mess up your digestion' eating earlier? Could the tight restrictive anxiety around food and timings be the actual cause of the bad digestion because you're not just letting go, and letting yourself connect fully with loved ones?
Okay this is such a GOOD questions and Natasha below answered it well but there is so much more I want to say. I don't have the time to write this our right now but I just wrote this down to do a whole video on this :) Watch out for it soon!
I have been on both the receiving end of this as a guest and also as a host……It’s hard when you love to entertain and yet, if you have been in the mindset of disordered eating and also have been a witness to those you love who have disordered eating, I believe that there is an art and science to being able to prepare and receive food with grace and compassion and not feel like you’re up agains the wall. As someone who is in a family who simply doesn’t understand the mindset of disordered eating, I have had the opportunity to receive compassion and also the silver bullet of truth. Most of us have food intolerances BECAUSE of the disordered eating and going out to eat, whether at a restaurant or to a house, is quintessential to recovery. It shows us how to eat with others. Recovery is more than just eating more food….it’s consuming food with friends and family. So when I go out to eat anywhere, I have given up asking where we are going and just trust that wherever I go, there will be something I can eat and enjoy. I have also stopped asking everyone what they want. I too cook for my family and for many years I was making several different meals for one dining experience and it was stressing me out when it came to preparing my own……now I just cook what I want and rotate asking what others want and just go for it. You can’t recover if you’re constantly tip-toe-ing and catering to your disorder. I do have sensitivities but they are only sensitivities. Like emoticons, sensitivities are fleeting and eventually go away once you strengthen your system. And the only way to strengthen your system is to challenge it like you would when exercising. Side note- I have opted to not host thanksgiving this year. My entire life has been about food. My entire thanksgiving life has been about creating a meal that takes forever to make and is gone in 60 seconds. This year I opt for someone else to cook for me and I will simply just show up with a side dish and a pie. It is exhausting catering to everyone’s needs and although I am definitely on board with food allergies and sensitivities, I won’t prepare a low carb keto meal for someone who is low carb and I won’t prepare a vegan meal. There will be options available like a veg dish or a roast, but the days of making sure everyone’s needs are met are gone. I know that sounds insensitive but my recovery and my sanity are my priority. Sorry so long--but this video is relevant on so many levels Well Done Chloe!!! 👏
Loved the time you took to respond to this video! You have some amazing points in there! I love how you are aware that a sensitive is just that... need not be anything bigger than it is. Many people are so fearful of receiving any discomfort but if you could just embrace it and know its fleeting, it can help your relationship to food a ton.

If the vegoons are coming after you you are on the right track!

Love you sis!
Thanks XOXO

Do you have her information. I can't find her stuff anywhere.
@@flowwithchlo if it's the same girl I'm thinking of she changed her channel name to "plant-based poser"
@@flowwithchlo I told you in my OP.
Juliette now uses the name *Plant-Based Poser*
Insanity is trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results....
