Yes, you can prepare the dal mixture for dal vadas in advance. Soak and grind the dal with ginger, garlic & green chilli as shown in the recipe. Transfer the ground dal into an airtight container and refrigerate it. You can store this mixture for up to 12-24 hours. Avoid adding onions, spices, salt & the remaining ingredients while storing. To make vadas using this mixture, take it out of the fridge & let it come to room temperature then follow the same process as shown in the recipe, your dal vadas will turn out to be perfectly crispy.
We have a tradition to do this vade on Ganpati Mahalaxmi occasion but without onion and garlic. Kadhi patta and hing are the must ingredients. Rest is very good presentation. Happy Home Cooking. भाई अजवाइन भी थोड़ा सा पड़ता है । (Edited😅)
