- Second Cyber Maze stage, also known as Zero Space or the Zero Virus stages, from Mega Man X5 for the Sony Playstation PSX. No damage taken, buster only. Here we have yet another throwback stage, this time from MMX1. And one word generally comes to mind when I think of this stage: evil...terrifying, irritating and horrific, formidable, arduous, unpleasant and vile. Okay, maybe more than one word comes to mind. But, it's riddled with devious enemy placement, and although short, the entire stage is designed to be problematic every step of the way. The Sigma Virus is more aggressive here and is often accompanied by Walk Shooters and Eagle Gs. Infact, the entire stage is a cluster-fuck of Eagle Gs (modified Eagle Ride Armors armed with a buster capable of shooting straight or diagonally, and a shield).
Rangda Bangda W is a modification of the original Rangda Bangda, also from X1. It has three eyes, each with a different color and attack. These appear in-cycle one at a time, randomly from one of two eye cavities. The blue eye is a homing weapon of sorts. It tracks and essentially chases the player in several short but quick dashes...probably the easiest of Rangda's attacks to evade. The green eye will shoot streams of small projectiles that can be collectively destroyed with a half-charged buster shot, as seen here. I found it best to line up horizontally with the eye and release a charged shot right before the projectiles reach X, therefore eliminating nearly the entire stream and ultimately causing damage to the eye itself. The red eye is the tricky one. It will create two constantly flowing, indestructible streams of energy rotating clockwise, leaving no safe location in the room. Utilizing the X4 Force Armor, I found that hovering for a moment above the eye would create ample time for the stream below to clear and therefore allow for safe landing on the floor. When the walls move in, a small flame will appear and follow X throughout the enclosed space. Spikes materialize on the floor and, once Rangda Bangda W reaches low health, on random portions of the wall for brief moments. The flame, and each eye, contribute a portion to the entire collective health. Important- If the flame is destroyed before the eyes, the walls will not re-open for the remainder of the encounter, and you'll be forced to deal with the eyes while trapped within this small space...a complete fucking nightmare as you could imagine. In addition, Rangda Bangda W has a specific weakness for each of its four parts:
Blue Eye: Ground Fire and Quake Blazer
Green Eye: C-Shot and C-Sword
Red Eye: Tri-Thunder and E-Blade
Flame: Goo Shaver and F-Splasher

Even though it's clearly a perfect victory, we can see the struggle of the player! This boss is nightmarish, no matter who plays it
personally i felt it was VERY easy if you're using the Falcon Armor - now he did it with the 4th Armor, this is NO small feat here, i dont think i could pull this sort of shite without Falcon Armor, i must tip my hat to this level of skill
@@JunkedLowTep when i did it with Falcon Armor i did it with only normal buster shots - didnt beat any time records but that wasnt the goal

look up 'zero space' on MegaMan wiki. it's pretty much a momentary tear into cyberspace on account of an incredibly large amount of the zero virus present at the crash site if the Eurasia space colony.

My favorite boss in X5. Especially the music, and the scary rumbling sound of the walls closing in and out, and the weird Egyptian style writings on the boss and the walls. And the boss is a creepy wall robot basically. Badass boss 👍
You sir, are a legend. I can’t get through this stage without dying at least once. I don’t know, maybe it’s because I always take the gaea armour to this stage so I can jump on the spikes.

What makes the boss especially bad are the death spikes that appear on the sides. I think that without those, this fight would be much better
That's part of the challenge, reflex game has to be on point. But yea I know the feeling when you're about to win and those side spikes kill yah
thats pretty much why most ppl will use Falcon Armor because they can hover in mid during top spikes after baiting flame to the bottom, giving time to wait for them to retract without taking damage from flame
@@riktorheverez1068 I think I could forgive the boss if those spikes weren't death spikes. Like if they just did a crap ton of damage, it would be fine. I don't like instadeath, especially easy to get killed by instadeath in boss fights
@@GreyWind1988 yea but the fact remains - you did it WITHOUT Falcon Armor, thats not something i can do on that boss, not even with Ultimate(without being a massive fucking ball of cheese that is), i can do it no damage too, but only with Falcon Armor, i can do Buster Only, no charge shots even, but only with Falcon Armor can i do that lol

@@joystickcasaa8148 Chalanges I can take' overcome and even ejoy but I hate instant death obstacles like these spikes and lazers in the megaman games. Trying to overcome some boss or something by not taking to much damage is one thing but when you die if you get hit once I hate it.
I was just doing a Zero playthrough and ended up losing Zero on the shuttle. All I had was unarmored X, and I had to use Wing Spiral as hover jumps to escape the Red Eyeball's damage lol
yeah that is what I hate about mega man X5 it is too RNG dependant you could play the game really good and get all the parts for both the shuttle and the laser and still end up losing Zero this game sucks in that regard the RNG thing ruins it and it is situations like these that can really screw it over man it must have been painful doing these levels as X with no armor so...how was Sigma?
@@Naglfar94 You never got anny of the armor parts for X? The fourth armor I can understand cause you need to start with X and the ultimate armor can be missed but the falcon and gea armor can still be obtained by going back to the stages.
@@TheOmegazerox Oh I got the armor for X the last time I played which was fairly recent. Overall though I am a better Zero player than X so these levels are a nightmare to do as him gea armor is powerful tho beat Sigma with it on the very last.
@@Naglfar94 I also prefer Zero. His playstyle combines ofence and defence cause his sward can destroy attacks or at least in his black mode can't quite remember. Also his blade can deal damage X would have to charge for so his sward is stronger then a buster in that sence. I finde his air jump better then X hover mode in both his fourth and ultimate armor as well.

This one was a cake walk in gaea armor, but damn, it's hard in 4th armor, this guy is good, I never utilized the float perc that comes with the 4th set

Yes the gea makes the stage tricky cause the gea armor has no air dash. But if you can get to the boss it is worth it.
The best X game, perfect gameplay, perfect difficulty, not too easy (X4) and not to cheesy (X6)

Impressive job I didn`t know if you avoid destroying the flame on Rangda Bangda W the walls remain gone until all eyes are destroyed I always destroy the flame right away and fight the rest on the walls. Also I love the music here haha a remix of Vile`s theme from X1 sweet!

There’s an achievement in the Legacy Collection to beat Rangda with the Gaea Armor. Made the boss way easier, but the stage itself? Gaea Armor has no airdash, a super slow dash, stupidly small range, and can’t get any parts. It was, to put it lightly, an experience.

The boss is very similar to the Mega Man X 1 boss. I can see the parts where you may have had to try many times.
it's a bit difficult to describe the inherent evil and inexplicable suffering these stages bring. 1:07 was a nightmare.

I hated this boss fight! I used the Gaea Armor so I wouldn't have to worry about the spikes.

Ryan Nixon actually this boss was in sigma stage 2 from mmx the spider was the on the 1st stage but still good to see it make a comeback to the series in Megaman x5 as well that the shadow devil (brother of the yellow devil from mm1 since it was supposed to be the final game in the series.

this is far worse. it was, without doubt, the most difficult boss encounter i endured in all my years of running megaman stages for this channel. that i can recall anyways... it certainly left an impression on me all these years later. iirc this was worse than any sigma encounter, tho X4 comes close. nightmare mother was... well a nightmare, yes. but this boss is absurd. i ran "no damage" runs so it didnt matter i guess, but this boss has instant kill bs- particularly when it closes in and youre relying on memorization, but also luck, to survive before it opens back up.
sorry, in short- this is worse. in my experience anyways. this was THE worst.
Damnit you make the hardest stages in this game look likea breeze......and I like breezes, but this stage is everything but that, like......everything on the description.

Do it with just basic armor
I have no fucking idea how the boss is supposed to be done with basic X, and that's for just surviving it in general, the red eye is practically impossible to dodge, though easy to kill, so you take a guaranteed hit there.
Then it's the easy blue eye, and the annoying green eye, both can be manipulated, but the nose part will screw you over without hover. I died countless times on the spikes at the floor, few times to the stupid wall spikes, and a good amount to the unforgivingly high damage of the nose.
And just forget about everything if you make the mistake of not leaving the nose for the last, you're screwed, with no space to dodge any of the eyes, while they take at least quarter of your health per hit. Becoming god at the nose part is a cruel necessity to have even a shadow of a chance to beat it.

Decided to destroy the spike phase first, thought the wall would go away but it didnt lol, now I had to fight the tree eyeballs inside that cramped space fck.
