That long shower comment was way off the hook lmao 😂
I'm so glad Joe was on the episode. He was the voice of reason on this episode
Him, Rusillo, and Chris Ryan the only ones that have the balls to call out Bill on his bias and homerism at the Ringer lol
I’d much rather listen to House than Rusillo. House can make an articulate argument without having to be a dick about it like Russillo.
tbf it's a very easy job to pick holes in a list like this. Literally anyone would make mistakes compiling one
His kid repeated kindergarten?? That shoulda been talked about…
@@bagbroch9339 that was a joke lol
I love having House on the podcast. Him calling Bill out for his absurd Kobe takes is nice.

House saying he would trade Reaves for Irving sounds like something the Wizards would do
For real
Hilarious!
Every lakers fan would do too
Bro can u imagine Kyrie in Washington DC???? OMG that would be be an entertaining disaster
Yeah who would want an 8 time all star 3 time all nba & nba champion when you can have hillbilly Kobe
Beautiful take by Joe House on the Kevin Durant rank. Someone finally called out the media bias with Durant. The whole “I just hoop” thing is a cop out for his real nonexistent playoff success that last few years.
Bingo. He wasted 4 years of his career to troll espn with kyrie irving lol like you can't make it up
he's just coping because he's 34 and has 2 fake rings. his legacy gets worse by the year. i think by the time he retires he'll actually end up below Barkley who has no rings but at least has some dignity

Zion hype in 2019 was also that he was gonna be a top 10 all-time guy and that hasn’t yet materialized. Let’s just slow down a little on Wembanyama
Zion put up historic numbers for a guy his age the year he played a full-ish season. Its been injuriea not a lack of talent and thats a risk for all players and prospects

Kuwai is an absolute artist on the hardwood, but it feels like waiting for that next Guns N’ Roses album (that is never going to happen). LeBron is no longer the smartest guy in the association-that would be Jokic now, but let’s say King James is the wisest player in basketball because seriously, he has more experience than Methuselah!

The Kyrie position from Bill has not aged well AT ALL. He literally said there were 65 current NBA players that no team would trade straight up to get Kyrie. That's batshit crazy.
I really hope Wemby stays healthy cause it would be great for basketball to see a guy like him thrive. But man, that build for the kind of game he plays (& how we've seen top picks break down) worries me. He's got the right coach but I hope there's a different medical staff than the one dealing with Kawhi.

18:35 bill is WILD on this take. denver absolutely would take OG in that trade?? he's two years younger, an elite defender, and a better 3pt shooter AND he's $3m/year cheaper (one year shorter deal tho). House* is the only regular guest who will push back on Billʻs grandiose statements (*and Van Latham).
The idea you trade Luka right now is insane. Maybe down the road, like Lebron's first cavs stint, but not now.
They don't have a way to improve so it's make sense to sell on him, Utah would pay a huge price i'm sure.
They either lose him for nothing or he demands a trade which lowers his value. This team is not going anywhere so might as well salvage Doncic as an asset. They've screwed themselves with the Kyrie move, letting Brunson go etc.
Bill’s ability to throw shade at LBJ is impressive.
"Long showers" 😂😂😂
House is a 100% right about Durant and Embiid
Dunno Simmons. Garland looked pretty bad in the playoffs. But the Cavs bigs looked bad as well.
Carmelo was and is over-rated. I'll take that opinion to my grave.
Garland had better shooting splits than Mitchell vs New York. Garland shot 38.7% on 6.2 3PA, Mitchell shot 28.9% on 9.0 3PA. Both of them turned the ball over like crazy, but when I watched that series, I wanted to see Garland down the stretch instead of Mitchell who was chucking up contested three after contested three.
I just became a Bill Simmons subscriber because he is THE MAN
Bill doesnt hate Kobe ? yeah right - still remember the sh!t about the finals vs celtics Kobe shot 6-24 but got 15 boards etc and you just ripped him - like Jordan never had a 9-26 game
Lol that part. At least Nick Wright has openly admitted his Kobe hate. Bill will take shots at Kobe any chance he gets and will deny the hate to his death bed

The way Carlisle moronically used Mathurin (not starting him) aside he still shoulda of been honorable mention for his highs as 20 year old rookie.
Also while I wanted my Pacers to draft Booker over Turner in 2015 and wanted 27/29 unprotected Lakers 1s for him/Hield bc they’re dumpster fire possibly post LeBron/AD and it helped us double Wemby odds and start force Carlisle 2 start Mathurin, BUT Turner on great contract not being mentioned HM top65 at all was kinda amateur hour. Mobley I like but he’s too high, LeBron (not shocking as LeBron owned one Bill’s team more then any athlete ever knocking then out 5X 2011-18 including 3 ECF, 3 of which Celtics could close at home in 6/7….then LeBron went to hated lakers and was Finals MVP for them in 2020 + good WCF run after 2-10 start) at 40 embarrassing as he was inarguably Top7-15 best player last year, averaged 25, 10, 7 on 50% in playoffs, averaged 28 10 10 52Fg% in WCF, was God tier December to February pre foot injury (injuries and age knock him down I get but still).
Chet too high, KD (all timer but 35 & 8 months when playoffs start with injury history) too high.
I love how House calls out Bill on many of his trash rankings/takes more then anyone. Bill is a legend in the space (even as annoying homer and LeBron hate since he owned his team 11-18 then went to hated lakers, plus underrates Reggie Miller who has 16th most won shares including playoffs when everyone 1-25 around him is an all time legend or legend), but he’s at his best interviewing all time greats or talking with ppl who actually debate with him.
Completely agreed. Pacers were at a crossroads to accelerate their rebuild to better compete with teams loaded with draft capital but they bottled it
Haven't listened yet but Bron at 40 seems a bit high imo. He's on an expiring contract, could retire at any time, barely plays defense during the regular season. Regardless of how good he is now, value isn't just about the immediate.
@@tonyschimmoeller he was literally just a top5-7 NBA player from late December to late February (33, 9, 8 good efficiency) and 28 10 10 52 FG% on bad foot in WCF which was better then Durant & Butler Vs Nuggets. Yes age/injuries worry you, but injuries worry you with many players and LeBron is an alien who is still top5-20 range player in NBA period. He prob makes 2nd team all nba last year had he played all year and LeBron Luka Durant Curry the only 4 in NBA to avg 26 6 6 on the efficiency they did this year.
His defense was actually good mostly in playoffs with top5 DWinshares and top10 D rating through Conference Finals.

How did we get to long showers whilst talking about Kyrie Bill? 🤣🤣🤣
Aside from the bubble, Lebron hasn't played an injury-free season since he arrived in L.A. Even this year, I hears Lebron fans talking about how great Lebron was with his ankle injury. "Imagine if he hadn't been injured!" But he's always injured. This needs to be acknowledged and discussed. This isn't about hating on Lebron, it's about balancing the "he's so great in year 20" talk.
So your take is he’s not great in year 20 despite shattering every old player record?
I don’t get it. Why they don’t even mention Nic Claxton?
I know nobody watches the Pacers but no Myles Turner and especially no Bennedict Mathurin is blasphemous

No shot jalen green is so low considering he was the only one to game plan around on the rockets this year. Rockets wouldn’t trade him for Mobley or giddey
Neither the Cavs nor the Thunder would consider trading either of those players for Jalen, like 0 percent of giving it even one second of thought. And I Like Jalen, but naw…
The "he's the only guy teams game plan around" excuse is such BS. It's the same thing Magic fans say about Paolo to explain his horrible efficiency despite Franz taking nearly as many shots per game. Teams going into Houston on a back-to-back aren't game planning around Green other than "just let Green shoot crappy mid range shots" because he took 531 of them and only hit 40% of them a ridiculous percentage of them being pull-ups. You can love your guy, just don't be delusional about him.
Green seems like a total moron too. Just listen to him talk.
Not sure if I’m crazy but as a Cavs fan I’d be upset if we traded DG for Dame. I think that is based on a lot of emotion, but I also think he has still so much room left to grow.
Donovan Mitchell & Dame lillard would not work
I actually agreed with the last one way way more than this one.
If the Clippers had told Kawhi that they couldn't accommodate the Paul George trade I say he would have signed with them anyway. Or better yet still he wouldn't have. I've never understood everyone saying you have to do that every time. Or that Brooklyn had to make the Harden trade. These kinds of trades are loaded with risk and even if they deliver a title that's still a long time in the wilderness after those guys age out.
the kawhi trade is only the most succesfull time of the franchise - so clearly a fail, lol
Sure, going all in and having it blow up in your face does leave you screwed. But a title is never guaranteed and hoarding draft picks and hoping isn't a bulletproof strategy either (ie Philly).
Franchises owe it to fans to try and go all in if they think they are a piece away from winning a title. Fans are smart enough to understand the risk, and are usually (depending on the player) supportive of the effort.
@@Weaponator18 I totally agree that trading for a superstar is a perfectly viable team building strategy. I also agree that most fan bases are energized .by such deals. My point is specifically referring to the Clippers deal for Paul George and the Nets deal for Harden. I just feel like both franchises gave up too much. I point to these deals because they both had a chance to have their cake and eat it too. As I mentioned I think the Clippers would have landed Kawhi without the PG trade and Brooklyn got Durant and Kyrie in free agency without giving up any assets. Given a choice of having Kawhi come onboard with their assets intact or bringing in Kawhi and PG with very few assets moving forward I personally would not have made that deal. That was my opinion when it happened. I realize I'm probably more risk averse than just about anyone but the opportunity cost of such a deal backfiring is a franchise in the wilderness for a decade. Most people would take that risk i'm just not one of them. I feel like people lose sight of the fact that basketball is an entertainment product first and foremost and while winning a title is the pinnacle for NBA franchises it's not something that makes people's lives objectively better in any material way. Also one of these kinds of trades going sideways precludes a team from having any kind of entertainment value for a long time.
I realize this is very much a minority opinion and at some point I might have to take the L and admit I was wrong but for now it's how I see things and it's how I'd run my pretend NBA front office.
