PeanutButterGamer finds and plays the WORST movie games he can find! From a Harry Potter Prisoner of Azakban PC game, to a Shrek video game for the Nintendo DS, a couple Jurassic Park games, a Hannah Montana Disney Channel Movie game for the Nintendo Wii, and a Lord of the Rings game for the Nintendo GBA. Some of the BEST (worst) games Hollywood movies have to offer. As a kid I played some great movie games. Some Star Wars games like Star Wars Rogue Squadron, LotR beat-em ups, and more, but there's some real BAD ones out there. In fact, most of them are bad games. PBG covers the absolute worst of the worst games in this video review - as long as you don't count the ones he didn't cover that also exist.

Reminds me of Tomska and his surfshark ads. He managed to drop c*nt in the middle of a slam poetry ad section for surfshark and my jaw dropped in how he was able to get away with it.
Fun fact, some of the shitty MS Paint art in the Jurassic Park Activity Center is just poorly recreated versions of actual concept art for the movie.

The lead physics developer for Jurassic Park: Trespasser went on to be one of the lead developers on the original Xbox. The Xbox physics engine even used some code from Trespasser.
Could you elaborate? I'm a bit confused about what you mean by "Xbox physics engine", since I'm not sure how a physics engine would be used on the console itself.
@@dragonick2947 So I decided to look this up, and you're right about there being no such thing as an "Xbox physics engine". However, in the process I discovered that Trespasser was the first game ever released with an actual physics engine, which is pretty cool! Doing that appears to be a big reason why the game failed, but it advanced game development a ton, so it had a lot more impact. And it's pretty fitting for a Jurassic Park game to do that, given how the movie advanced tech a ton.

As someone who watched the show, yes, that is the basic premise of Hannah Montana, outside of the fact that she isnt really a country girl. The movie is about "reconnecting" to her country roots because shes become a diva
I had the DEMO DISC for the Jimmy Neutron game... it had a VERY short space shooter section, and an on foot section in the alien ship. And the aliens would run at you and say 'INTRUDER ALERT. INTRUDER ALERT.'
AND IT TRAUMATIZED ME. It was up there with Redeads and the Mario 64 Piano for 'reasons I require therapy today'
for those who played the console version, "Destroy the human child". Also game over's would wipe your whole progress.

When she's in the Hannah disguise she's also wearing makeup. The lack of makeup was how Lily was able to find out her secret in the first place.

Seeing footage from that Lord of the Rings GBA game makes me realize... It's probably games like THAT that move soooooo slowly and have such frail characters that always miss their attacks that give turn based rpgs a bad rep.
What really sucks is that the GBA had a ton of amazing games for it, but ports to it from other systems were always so bad...

@@southparkfirefly Though I can't say for certain, I think there's like a stereotype of people thinking turn based style gameplay is weaker/more boring (that's my theory on why some don't like them). Which I think is daft, as lots of people love board games and other table top games where you take turns and come up with strategies (which is just like turn based RPG's).
Ironically the Two Towers adaptation was rather decent (it was like a D&D hack and slash... that for some reason starts with a Moria level and ends at Helms Deep/After Faramir lets the hobbits go iirc)... but the Return of the King game was not a very good sequel either as it was insanely hard XD

@@timothyfinn3619 The only explanation for it is that the devs wanted the game to be as realistic as possible, which meant not having a health meter or ammo counter on screen. The compromise so the game wouldn't be impossible to figure out was the cleavage tattoo and the MC counting how many shots you have left out loud every time you shoot.

I remember playing that Jimmy Neutron game CONSTANTLY as a kid

I love how it has the Yolkians in it as the villains, but it doesn't even seem to follow the plot of the movie.

Aw man, Prisoner of Azkaban was one of my favorites growing up. But I will admit the Chamber of Secrets was the best one. And at least Prisoner of Azkaban wasn't...the 4th one.
I was almost outraged until I realized it was going to be about the PC version. I haven't played any of the games' PC versions but none of them look good.

4th one is fine as well, just linear and not what people wanted of a Harry Potter game. There are so many worse Harry Potter games, like 5 for the GBA or Deathly Hollows

I actually loved the first three Harry Potter games for the PC.
Same, the game’s aren’t mechanically very interesting but the worlds are well designed and it hits all the beats of the story. Chamber of Secrets was my favorite though.
Third one was kinda meh for me on PC but I've played the daylights outta 1 & 2.
I also got 4... and... well it sucked
I had no idea the PC version of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was so drastically different from the console version. it looked so unrecognizable that they might as well just be two different games. the PS2 one's a fun time

Also if you enjoy the Two Towers and RotK tie-in games, there's a pretty good RPG from the era called The Third Age. It's essentially a FF 10 clone from my understanding but it actually takes you through the events of the movies, albeit with a new party of characters based around the fellowship, but you battle/interact with the actual fellowship and others like Faramir at important moments. The original story it tells isn't too bad, plus you get a bunch (like 100+) optional expository scenes voiced by Ian.
PBG this is going to sound kind of weird but thank you for continuing to censor/bleep your videos. My nephew is 11 and always asks if he can watch more Peanutbutter Gamer when he comes over. His parents don’t want him watching anything with swear words (at this point in his life because he’s very impressionable), and I respect his parent’s wishes. 👍

Id love to see a video about any of the Professor Layton games by Level-5. They're one of those rare franchises that gets consistently localized to the west (rip mother 3)

22:54 - As it happens, yes, I do remember when Pippin died. There's a very old PBG video about The Lord of the Rings: Volume 1 for the SNES, where Pippin gets his flesh stripped off of him by a random bat in a cave.
You may not remember that in the book, but it's my favourite chapter.

The LOTR FotR is based on the book not the movie. There was a rush to get a FotR game out and a 3rd party company bought the video game rights to the book and rushed out a game ahead of the movie tie in.
Since FotR was taken EA had to split 3 movies between 2 movie tie ins instead of 3. This fiasco became one of the main reasons movie tie in games HAD to release same day as the movie without exception.

I want everyone to realize that the child in this video is a FATHER.
Ironically, Austin, that becomes part of the main story line of Jimmy Neutron 😂 they're happy their parents are gone for a little while, but then soon realize they're all alone in their houses.
And then Jimmy makes them build spaceships out of amusement rides.
It doesn't seem to follow the plot of the movie, despite having the same villains. Because the aliens also abduct Cindy here, yet in the movie, they only want the adults.

As someone who grew up with Harry Potter games on PC, I can say this with confidence.
*Sorcerer's Stone:* Bad voice acting, but gameplay was serviceable even if janky.
*Chamber of Secrets:* PERFECT, PEAK KINO! Every HP game should strive to be just like it.
*prisoner of azkaban:* I didn't bother capitalizing it because it's so forgettable.

Other fun thing about the Lord of the Rings gba game, there's a room in the mines of Moria that straight up crashes the game when you enter it. I'm not making that up, I remember looking it up as a kid and having to pause the game at a specific time while hitting a weird button combination in order to get the room to load, and it was apparently really common.

So, fun fact about Trespasser: it was supposed to have a complex interconnecting web of interactions, with the dinosaurs switching between various emotional states. The developers never got it to work though, which they fixed by setting all the dinosaurs to "aggressive" all of the time.
I think my favorite part about these games is how many people have experienced at least one of them in their childhood, proving that their parents somehow lost all common sense and forgot how bad tie-in media has always been.
For example, my parents both played games long before I was born. They *MET* each other by playing text-based RPGs. And yet despite that they subjected me to the Polar goddamn Express tie-in game, despite knowing full well that tie-in games almost never end well.
No PBG, we didn't click because of the title, we KNOW you have good video that's all!

I have pretty fond memories of all the early console harry potter games myself, mainly since they were all Ocarina of Time clones. So wierd seeing the PC version take a totally different genre.

Hannah Montanah the game has got one redeeming feature.
An internet forum started spreading a rumour that you could use an exploit in the game to hack your Wii (not sure on the details of what they claimed).
This led to scalpers buying the game in bulk in order to make a profit, then realising they'd been had and ultimately ending up with dozens of copies of a game they couldn't even give away.
Anything game that helped to screw over a bunch of scalpers can't be too bad.

I think that message was sent a little late. Like they kinda did the tour in the beginning of the movie... before Shrek and Fionna's kids were born.
Even if it is just the queen sending the message, pretty sure she no longer has power. Arthur's king now. Why didn't he send the letter?

Yeah that part doesn't make sense. Plus, I can't imagine anyone enjoying the game either. Like even if you were a little kid who loved Shrek, why would you ever be like "I wish there was a Shrek game where I take care of his kids!" No kid would ever say that. And no older fans would either. The game has no audience to pander to.
The devs didn't even get to know what Shrek's kids' names were.
I LOVED that Jimmy Neutron PC game. It’s so janky but it’s one of my first 3D games. I had the promo version for some reason, which had one random level.
When I got the the real version, I didn’t know how “a new game in the same series worked”, so I put the disk into the reader with the disk of the promo version cause I thought they had to go together to get the full game. Nearly broke the disk slot but I figured it out.
